  • Australia is OWNED BY CORPORATIONS: What to do about it?
    Australia has been bought out with the biggest corporations in banking, insurance, media, retail, and more.
    Meanwhile, the average Aussie is finding it harder to get ahead-wages haven’t kept up with the cost of living, household debt is skyrocketing, and financial stress is becoming the norm. Many feel like they’re working just to survive, with little control over their future.
    But here’s the truth: doing nothing isn’t an option. In this video, I’ll break down what’s really happening, why so many are struggling, and-most importantly-what you can do about it. Because if you don’t take action, things could get even worse.

    We make billions from resource taxes, but compared to Norway we dont charge enough. The taxes on Norway's resources tax is up to 78% and that profit is then put into the Norwegian Sovereign Wealth Fund, the pension fund for the citizens. The point is that our money has been squandered over the last few decades. We shouldnt even have to pay taxes or pay for education with the amount of money made. Politicians doing deals with the corporatocracies are for their own personal benefit. The system is broken and so is the trust!

    • @antonyjh1234
      @antonyjh1234 6 днів тому +1

      Tax pays for no current spending, all money is debt based so paying taxes pays off the loan. I agree the system is broken but mostly because people don't understand all debt is money, it does not build up only the debt that has passed through an item, price is not an indication of the money in society, it is an indication of the debt that passed through it.
      Having a trade surplus is a great thing for any country that is lucky to have it and while they might have gas we have iron ore that mostly supplies it all.
      All money is debt, so it has an interest rate applied, having money that loses value the longer it is held and expecting education to be supplied by business, is not a good plan, as all money is new spending, taxes can be applied to remove it, basing education on what a country might sell and next week China says we can get it from another source has some real faults. People have to understand what money is in the debt based system and then they can understand what taxes do, which is just lower the loan.
      Australia has amongst the highest minimum wage, because of this money coming in and still people are unhappy with the system, we are coming to the pointy end of money or price doesn't indicate value and our understanding of it has been lacking. The business of government has always been business but people have to understand, every single dollar in the world has a correlation to debt, somewhere, asking for more money is just asking for more bank debt, we should ask who or what we have been paying our lives too and what did we get in return.

      The more you tax (the greedier you get), the less will be produced, the less tax you will get. Miners are international businesses. They're not doing it for you.

      @@willnitschke This is incorrect, as tax pays for zero current spending, tax lowers the loan amount ( deficit ). If more is taxed it will mean less money in the system, the opposite of greedier.

    The destruction of our working middle-class is reflected in our $2 Trillion deficit along with ever-increasing unaffordable housing, mass-immigration buying up Aussie real-estate with their Monopoly money, the RBA’s GDP inflation target since May-1993 targets compounding devaluation of our dollars.
    Yeah, a recessions tough but 12-18 months and after the prices adjust back to fair value, we hit the ground running again but instead a chronic depression is so much worse and that’s where we’re heading when the central banks along with commercial banks think they can replace the downward turn of the business cycle with ever-more debt! 🤦🏻

    Yes, couldn't agree more with your opinion. Neoliberal politics really started to take hold here in the 90's when Howard was elected. Mass privatisation of government assets & the erosion of workers rights combined with the MSM saying Unions = Bad moved that needle in the negative quite a bit for your average worker, e.g. individual workplace barganing. Add in easy access to credit when interest rates were low & a financially illiterate populace along with turbocharged consumerism like the US & this is where we are. Don't get me started on corporate taxes or the lack of them.

    Our standard of living is much higher than 50 years ago. Our preparedness to consume has never been higher. Financially discipline has never been worse. Deregulation of the banking sector and feminism have exploded borrowing, exploded asset prices, and exploded debt. Banks don’t care that the rates are lower than decades past, because the debt is much much higher today. You need to be more realistic about what has led us to this place, and how much our own values and culture have changed Our expectations for ourselves have never been higher. And much of what has happened is our own fault.

      Fundamentally people don't understand money. All money is debt based, saying people need to hold more debt, to get ahead is a paradigm around people thinking money has more value than it has. Govt policy could provide food, shelter and medical care for free, for every single person and the security of these things would raise general wellbeing/ Asking for more money to get ahead, when it is all debt based and Au has the highest minimum wage, in the "lucky country" show people believe in the myth of competition. We are just products of our environment and when people say you have to compete for bank debt then they do not fully understand the system. Competition or scarcity is just a manufactured concept to keep people believing in the current concept, it doesn't need to happen but is by design.
