1. Ridiculous amount of fish. 2. Ridiculous mix of fish. 3. Ridiculous amount of food. That was enough to feed them for about a week. 4. Nitrates will be off the scale. 5. How many are still alive in 2024? My guess = none! 6. Sad.
These Altums are very nice. I feel they would be better off with a few less other fish to compete for space with (especially the ones that aren't really for the Altum Biotope). Thanks for sharing.
Well, this is not a biotope tank. Its a mixture of many SA rivers, with denisoni barbs, labeos and cichlid hybrids as guests .. Discus will be unhappy soon, and warm water will shortend the denisoni barbs life, as they like more colder temperatures ...
The idea is to replicate conditions such as water parameters, natural plants, substrate, water type (fresh, saline or brackish), lighting, and to include other native fish which usually live together in nature and as such, represent a particular real-world biotope. An example of one South American biotope type might be "Forest creek tributary of Rio Negro near Barcelos, Brazil" with lots of branches, twigs, roots, dead leaves, light sandy substrate, tannin-stained water and subdued lighting with floating plants, along with Nannostomus eques, Paracheirodon axelrodi, Hemigrammus bleheri, and Dicrossus filamentosus. Note that "South American" is not itself a biotope, since South America contains hundreds of distinct biotopes in different regions, rivers, etc.
it isnt even a biotope when the fish are from different parts of america. So getting fish from asia and africa are making it even less. (I like the tank do... No hate on that aquarium its beautiful.. But its just not a biotope)
Great Altums..I notice Tetramin color flakes are really loved by my fish. More than the granules. Expensive for a big tank..but if the fish eat it,it's worth it.
I See many Mistakes. Too many fish. Discus Granulat for altums. Huge cans as the Main food Source. I Would say just stupid. Spend a Lot of many on the equipment but then not being able or willing to apply a proper feeding strategy.
You know what I see? A judgemental internet troll who likes to belittle others for no good reason. You don't know how this aquarist feeds his fish from ONE feeding. He's obviously doing something right the way his fish look and behave! Jealous, arrogant fool!

your account shows a picture of a discus and you find this amazing ? I see a few problems for the discus : 1) not enough discus in the tank, they prefer more of the same species 2) too many and too active fish around them.... Result : black bars...
which video did you see bcuz i only have 3 guppies and 2 corys with them and I'm also getting like 3 more discus but in time and thanks for your comments 👍

Nice tank! but, by biotope we mean flora and fauna of the same place! for example, the barbs are Asian ...
