It is important to have companies like Ace looking to improve on existing UH's with the changing weather conditions, helicopters are so much more required
I saw in the background one of your tails: # 0-26033. I was an USAF Pavehawk crew chief and worked exclusively on 90-26227 (Lone Survivor mission) and have years working 89-26196, 200, & 201 and tails as high as 92-26460. Most time was on tails 89-26195 to 26201 and 90--26224 through -239. 90-26227 was my bird for several years. It's cool to see the mighty Hawk getting a new lease on life.
Great video! It's a fascinating business idea and the giys working theirseem to be living their passion. The flight footags of these two Black Hawks is very beautiful. Thanks, it was a pleasue to watch!
Would be great to know if you guys are also employing ex-servicemen who worked on these aircraft in the military and have transitioned into civilian life.
I'm not an expert by any means but my understanding is that they are only able to be certified under "experimental" and "restricted" categories which limits what you can do with them. Because they were all originally built just to military specifications, they can not be used for any passenger service. Most are used for firefighting, forestry, agriculture or air crane type work. I don't think any S-70 variants produced currently are certified to be used for civil passenger service (private or commercial).
@@thedemonchicken Also surprising that the Blackhawk ( S70) never made it into the commercial sector faster. The off shore oil rig market is massive. But I think the new models made in Poland will be more for the civil market. Since it is such a powerful machine maybe it will have a slice of the growing fire suppression market across Europe.
@@dirkbogarde7796 I assume that you are referring to the S-70i by PZL Mielec; Cal Fire has some of those, manufactured in 2020 so they're definitely the new S-70i not military surplus Blackhawks, and they have Experimental FAA registration. PZL Mielec promotes transport and applications, but I don't know if they have delivered any to civil customers with anything but Experimental registration status.
@@thedemonchicken Lockheed-Martin received a new type designation for the S-70M Black Hawk helicopter in 2021 with a Restricted Category Special Airworthiness Certificate, so US customers can now buy and operate them as Restricted... but yes, it appears to still be just Experimental or Restricted. Since the Cal Fire S-70i that I checked is registered as Experimental, it looks like there is no non-restricted civil type certificate.
@@thedemonchickenSikorsky makes the civil version S-70i international civilian model. That's what the calfire firehawks are & a couple of la county Firehawk types are, a few international countries use them as well just google s-70i Blackhawk.
👍 UH-60 firefighter helicopter from the Portuguese Air Force putting on a show on an open base day. A good purchase by Portugal for its Military Air Force of the Order of Christ: ua-cam.com/video/kQUASnyKzY8/v-deo.htmlfeature=shared

I can confirm that they are doing exactly that.
These are perfect for nations that can't afford brand new helos.
I am surprised this helo isn’t more popular as a private helicopter?
