Good to see you Dave and that all is well . I'm having a pretty bad time at the moment if I'm honest. In around November I have lost some of my vision caused by high blood pressure that I was unaware of and also a mini stroke. I have been having bad migraines for a few years so the stroke must of happened within one of these episodes. Also my mum had a fall, and was in hsp for the second half of December, and sadly on 29th passed away. And now today, our dog has been ill. On heart medication, but today not wanting to eat , just sleeping. We think he might of also had a heart attack / or stroke . When we got back from work we were debating taking him to the vet, but I felt he was close to death, and 30 mins later at 5pm he passed away. I'm going to bury him in our garden tomorrow. These last few months have been pretty tough but hoping after mums funeral, things will improve. It's been the worst ever. Roll on the good times again !
All the best to you and yours Dave. Can I quickly pick your brains. Acer palmatum red need repotting or root cutting. First what is your compost mix of choice and would you repot from a 16” pots to ? Or would you just empty out clean and root trim and put it back in same pot. Would really appreciate your thoughts.
If the tree suits the pot just give it a trim and repot in the same one . My mix is john inns number 2 with pearlight and acadama with grit , also if you cqn get it Molar clay . Happy new year buddy .👌🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Electric heating is always going to be expensive Peter so the best thing is to cover and insulate if you are going to heat . I used to run a 2kw cloverleaf heater and it cost me nearly 1k a quarter to run at 16degrees. Needless to say it was tuned off. Air source are cheaper but still need to be carefull and cover up 👌🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I'm definitely getting the bonsai bug 💯👌🧁👍👍👍 Still watching that pod is clean compared to mine Davey bruva and that gets done every 3-4 days 🧁👍👍👍 💯 With the peeps not cleaning easypods proper 🧁👍👍👍
