A little over two years ago I dropped everything and moved from NYC to a small Село (Farm) in Bulgaria. Since then my boyfriend (who I met as a little kid in this same village) and I have been renovating/ restoring our family farmhouse. Our village is disappearing and we believe it is our duty as descendants of this beautiful Село to do our part in keeping it alive…. Today I am in for A BIG SURPRISE!!!!!
ABOUT ME:
Hi guys!
My name is Laurie and I dropped city life (Manhattan, New York) for a simple farm life. I literally woke up one morning and realized NYC wasn’t for me. I booked a ticket (the same day), packed a little suitcase and moved to a teeny-tiny Bulgarian village- lost in time. And when I say lost in time I mean lost-in-time. No time crunching jobs, no watching the clock, hardly any internet service at all really. Imagine a village from the Middle Ages… that’s pretty much what you get here. And I’m loving every second of it!

Thank you so much! The original house is made out of stones from our river and the additional section we built is wood. I think it’s a nice mix 😃

I've used all types of cookers and I rarely have a problem with electric ones, and given that electricity is becoming the universal energy source, it makes sense. Perhaps investigating solar power would be another interesting project ?

This was my boyfriend’s dad’s design so it was kind of in honor of him. It is soooo useful when we have many guests over. We don’t have to get up hundreds of times to pass dishes and drinks around 😄

Hahaha банята беше много зле преди! Ама МНОГО зле 🤣. I guess I was just used to it from my summers on the farm. Nothing beats a nice comfy bathroom! NOTHING 😄
Ooo yes, I bought him these huge speakers he wanted for his birthday. I think he wants to make the house a party zone for the villagers 😄 🎶 🍻
