- HEY! I'm back again with another set of tips for climbing! This one is a lot more broad and general and is aimed around preparing you and giving you a good mindset to be able to climb and achieve your goals!
I will hopefully be doing more tip type content throughout this next episode, so for specifics, I will leave that to dedicated videos! If you wanna see that stuff when it comes out, hit the sub button I appreciate it a lot! For now, hope this video helps prepare you for the climb to come!

Tip 1 made me think of the book atomic habits, where the author makes a point that setting goals like this can actually be negative and if you want to improve at something, its better to focus on having good habits/systems in place to get better. Then results will take care of themselves. Maybe you will find it interesting.
Setting goals can be negative if the goal becomes obsessive and the only thing you look at and care about. But that kinda goes for anything really, if it becomes obsessive its an issue, but setting your mind with an end goal 100% helps because then you know what you want out of something, and know that’s what you’re striving for. It’s especially helpful to break up the rank system and see it more in smaller more important steps rather than one giant system with no end.
Exmp- I’ve been setting goals every episode, my last was to hit immo 3 even if it took all 6 months (it did), before that was immo 1 and then ascendant before that and so on since iron 1.
But yes, I haven’t read that but sounds interesting and there is a point where goals can be negative too, that’s especially what other people mean when they say “don’t focus on rank, focus on improving”
Over the last 2-3 years I've climbed from iron to immo. Here's more tips that may help:
-Aim training can be useful. A good playlist can help in any rank.
-play 2-3 agents like Yuki said but try play agents in the same role/ playstyle
-vod review is good but equally important is watching pro vods or pro games where you can watch how radiants paly your agent
Definitely rate the last one, I used to watch everyone I could as I was learning!
I'm very much a valo noob
I think your content is probably the most welcoming and most seemingly psychologically informed. Thanks for being a hugely underrated resource
Psychology was my hobby and I started studying it in school last year, so I’m very big on the mental side as much as the physical! But anyway, glad you liked it
ty bro it helps alot
I am main Yoru, old main clove, I've peaked bronze 3 and after the rank reset I'm iron 3, after 3 losses and 2 wins in the placement games, but what maps are Yoru good on? Cuz I'm super inconsistent, one game I can drop 30 kills and get match mvp, the game after I get maybe 10 kills and bottom frags, and I don't know if that's cuz of Yoru is not suitable for that map especially, I don't know why I am like that, can someone help me?
Yoru is playable on basically every map, I'd say his best right now is Bind. But in lower ranks, agent choice and comp choice isn't that important. It's more about your actual mechanics and game knowledge, so if you are struggling and are inconsistent at these ranks, I'd recommend less thinking about the agent you choose and more about improving on the game fundamentals than anything, that's what will help you climb there
your my fav therapy :D
for legal reasons I can't claim this as therapy but I appreciate it :3
dude ive been finding an agent to main and only play that agent. any recommendations?
Honestly my recommendation is just to try everyone and see who you like the most, there's no SET agent for everyone in general as they all bring unique styles to the game. If you want the 1 easiest agent in each role that are average or above I'd say they are:
Duelist - Pheonix
Sentinel - Killjoy
Initiator - Gekko
Controller - Clove
Besides that, it really is about finding who you love the most and practicing them! There's no right or wrong answer. Hope I helped a bit :)
