One thing that I love is when you see the protection actually rejecting the car soap/shampoo♥ It shows that the car is actually being taken care of😍🚗🧼👍
Always a great video Rick. But the comment from your dent guy about how Audi “metal” responds to dent repair and even some some aggressive dents. Awesome machines to begun with and then you get a testimonial from someone who does aftermarket repairs, kinda adds even more value to the brand. Till the next one.
Well, another great video production!!! Man what a just beautiful car! How'd you like the products.?? Dave must have been very happy 🤙🤙 Side note... that Ethos is doing VERY well!!!! Looks great still!
The products were pretty good. I didn't love all of them initially, but the more I get to play with them, the more I am sure they will grow on me. I left a few insights in the description, but pretty good overall. See ya buddy.
For a daily driver in your climate to still reject the soap after two years speaks volumes about the coating. I’m glad your on summer break because your videos are simply in another level in regards to production. The new product line looked effective with the foam wash looking thick but still runny. The wheel cleaner looked really effective and hopefully smelled better than eggs. For a nine year old car this Audi has really aged gracefully. Thank you for another great video!
Thanks for your insights Neil. Yes, that coating is holding up remarkably well given the abuse it has endured. It has not been religiously "topped" up either, so that's really saying something. Whether it is the graphene additive, who can say, but it was impressive. The Stjarnagloss products were good, but I need to get to know them a bit better to see if I can squeeze a bit more performance out of them. I found the wheel cleaner to be good, but it kind of disappeared and required reapplication a few times. Same story with the Bubblor. Good at first, but then kind of disappeared and needed a few extra shots in the bucket with pressure washer. The snow foam was a hit, though. I really liked it. I'm staring a Porsche tomorrow and I am anticipating this will be a big one. I'll do my best to get this video done for next Saturday morning.
Great video as always, I've done a podcast on this brand and we had Jack cavananagh on the show. Sorry I've only just subscribed I've watched for a while but like everyone else we sew emersed and forget these important procedures. Jonny Shiell
Outstanding! How do you like the Stjarnagloss line of products? I've used Forst, Huul, Bubblor, Silke and Inni ( I got the "4 Norsemen" sampler from the Rag Company (Huul, Bubblor, Silke and Inni ) and ordered Forst separately. I have to try Sno and Gummi. PS: I've always been fascinated by PDR... it is an artform!
Thanks Ron. I look forward to getting to know these products a little more. SNÖ is quickly growing on me! PDR is definitely a form of witchcraft. So fascinating...

Great video Rick , only found you a few months ago , and what a find ! Subscribe, like and hit notifications insantly . Love the content, music and the way you film fantastic , another lambswool mit user ! Not many UK detailing channels use Lambswool mits, more noodle or microfibre . We have a very similar process in the way we detail ,look forward to the next video . All the best :)
A great Scandinavian inspired bath on this beautiful German machine. I hope someday I can have "a guy" to come to my house to pull dents and not just bring pizza and various e commerce purchases. Fantastic work Rick and Jamie!
Stjärnagloss! Gosh I cannot wait to get my hands on products from this brand. I'm going to start off with Mörk to maintain my black satin wheels to try out and hopefully demote the Adam's Matte Detailer.
Gorgeous work Rick. Glad summer is here and you'll have more time for projects. UA-cams notifications are all wacked so let folks know. I hadn't received a notification for your last 2 vids.
Yeah, these projects are eating up my summer holidays. Four big jobs in the review mirror. Hoping to slow down a bit so I can actually enjoy other things outside of the garage this summer!
Is it weird that my car gets this attention every 1.5 weeks. The only difference being I do it outside, with the stuff I bring. Witch most of lays in the trunk organized. (Besides towels because they carry smells). All of the stuff works without power source because I use pay washers. And I bring the wife along and do her car aswel. We kind of make it a little date where we talk and have a drink while we do it. It has become a standard for most weekend evenings and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
The RS5 looks amazing the owner must be a keen detailer as well? I have not tried sttjargloss despite it being promoted in the UK and I don't really have any more room in my garage! really enjoyed the video.
He's not a detailer, but he knows how to take care of his things. I feel. you about the lack the space. I did a bit purge a while back, but things are starting to get a little cluttered over here too these days!
I see you are using Stjarnagloss, i love that product line, it all smells so good and works wonderfully, i use Matta as my shampoo, it is the best smelling of them all!
Another great video, Rick, thanks for sharing! Black is a difficult color to work with, but you make it look easy! Looks like that graphene coating is holding up pretty well, do you like it as much as ceramic coatings? Thanks again for the great content, always look forward to the next Rad Garage project!
It has performed better than any other coating I have applied. It outlasted the Gyeon coating on my car that was applied around the same time so that definitely says a lot about its durability. I’m working on a project at the moment and about to hit up Carzilla to see what coating they suggest for this one. Gotta run…
Quicker, easier and gives me more control. The pressure rinse of the foam got in all the right gaps, nooks and crannies so the wash rinse is just a matter of getting the soap off as quickly and efficiently as possible. Thanks for the question.
Those mobile dent repair guys, the experienced ones, are worth their weight in gold. The psychological impact those small dents(chips too)have on us can be traumatic. 🤣 Great video as usual Rick.
It's a toss up at the moment between Adam's Wheel & Tire Cleaner and Brakebuster. For really caked on brake dust and road grime, I like NV Purge. I will learn to love the SG line as time goes on. SNÖ is already really growing on me.
Thanks a lot Rick for sharing your amazing job 🙏🏽 to be honest you have one of the best edited videos on UA-cam. 🔥 I have one question, why you don’t make detailing as a complete job ?
I could NOT do this for a living. Huge props to the guys and gals out there that pursue a detailing career. It is something that will remain a hobby for me, but it is almost starting to feel like a job since I’ve been tackling so many projects recently. Thanks for the great comment and question. 🤘
That’s how much faith and trust I have in my CarPro mitt and Grit Guard bucket setup. On clean cars such as this, I feel no need to use the rinse bucket. I do on winter washes of my own car though.
This line is really blowing up here. I was excited to use it for the first time. I will continue to work with them and see if they can live up to the hype!
I get that question a lot. I don’t see any reason to use the pressure washer when all I’m trying to do is get the soap residue off the car. The garden hose allows me to do that quicker , with less water and without making the garage all steamy. Thanks for the question.
I have two questions:. When rinsing after foaming, why do you start at the bottom and work your way up? Also what causes those "rings" to appear when hand washing the hood. Mine does that too. I am thinking it is the ceramic coating doing it's job. Great video.
Hi Ken. I like to work from the bottom up when pressure washing the foam off the car. This ensures the foam is still present when I get to all portions of the vehicle. If you go from top down, by the time you get to the lower portions of the car, the foam has already been rinsed away. The circles you see is, like you say, the coating doing its job and giving the water no chance to adhere itself to the paint. I was quite amazed the Ethos Graphene coating was still performing so effectively after two winters.
Hi Rick! Great to see a new video so soon. I really enjoy your honest comments about the products that you are using. Looking forward to the next one!! Cheers!!..
Great video sir. Also really appreciate the breakdown of your thoughts on each product in the description. I’ve heard that the brand is a bit overhyped & underperforming. I picked up a few Detail Firm products from your videos on them and I’ve been enjoying them a lot so far. Thank you Rick! 🙏🏻
I do really like the overall approach and "feel" of the Stjarnagloss line, but some of the products I tried left me somewhat overwhelmed. Not to say I didn't like them, but some brands had me raving after my initial experience. I will need to get more accustomed to this Stjarnagloss stuff. I was instantly a fan of the Detail Firm products I used. That is maybe my second favourite brand at the moment. I'm putting NV at the top.
With a house building in process, I was planning to buy some detailing gear and products, but I realized that here in switzerland, you are not allowed to waterwash your car outside of dedicated stations. So, I guess I'll continue visiting the auto-carwash even when I'll have a proper garage where I could technically do it :(
Yeah, we have lots of residential restrictions as well, thus the garage drain project. Good luck with your new housing project. Maybe I'll come visit one day.
Audi time baby as Austin Powers may say 😁! Shout out to your friend Jamie for the PDR always amazing to see how these guys can "feel the material" and bend it to their will 🤩 Glad to see the RS5 back for a maintenance wash. I am so astonished how pristine the paint is despite it is a daily driven one. Thanks for sharing with us your feelings about Starjnagloss products, which are slowly showing up in France. I think I will stick to my routine and keep on using Gyeon products which never let me down since a few years now. Due to heat wave in South of France, it is not that easy to pamper our cars so I am considering to go for rinseless wash if my wife is OK to buy a bunch of fluffy microfibers 😜. I am not here in your garage often enough. Everytime I come back you amaze me with the quality of your work. Not only the detailing but the filming, editing and feel. I hope you and your family are doing fine.

Yes, that Ethos Graphene coating has definitely held up well. Not often a coating can take two consecutive Calgary winters that well.
