Flying to Barrow, Alaska on Alaska Airlines' B737-800

- This flight was one of the most surreal flights I've ever taken, and up to this point...have ever taken. Never did I think I'd make it all the way up to Barrow, Alaska...but in this video I do just that in Alaska Airlines' Premium Class on their B737-800. On a flight that was extremely empty like this one was, the upgrade to Premium wasn't really worth it (which is why I didn't pay for it) in my honest opinion. Would've been just as happy back in Economy. However, if it were different circumstances, perhaps it would be worth the upgrade. I do like how Alaska tries to make Premium Class something more than just additional legroom...trying to entice people with free alcohol, but let's just say that's not really my calling. I took it graciously though and enjoyed my wine up to the northernmost city in the United States. Barrow or Utqiagvik, is a truly special place and if you'd like to see how that place is, be sure to check out my video I did on the town a year back. Highly recommend a visit and hope you guys enjoy the vid!

I accidentally came to know about a remote point of the earth and I learned that there is a certain distant place where I didn't imagine it existed, I don't know English well and I didn't understand what you were saying but your clear images dragged me and I went on trips with you without paying a ticket, I liked it a lot and you are very good and thank you for this sensation transmission. Greetings from Bologna Italy, by the way thanks to Google Translator
love this man
me too..

Good on you
Love your videos! Keep up the good work!
Absolutely fantastic trip report Chris!😸😸
Gracias!
I went to Deadhorse this January because I wanted to see a real Arctic winter, and I did, it was -36F with a -67F windchill. I also learned that Alaska Airlines stopped going through Fairbanks and Deadhorse on the way, because when I originally booked the trip I was going from Fairbanks to Deadhorse (I was already spending a few days in Fairbanks first), and on the return flight, I was supposed to go from Deadhorse to Barrow before heading back to Anchorage, but they rebooked me. I ended up flying from Fairbanks to Anchorage, and then having direct flights to and from Deadhorse. I'm not complaining though, Alaska Airlines has the best customer service and they got me to my destination (every flight was early).
I have not fly Alska Arlinenes.Good jod
I hope you find can find a nice place in Alaska to call home one day. You are a wonderful person who deserves this.
Why’d you block me?
@LI Flyer To be honest, it's because you said some things that upset me. For example, you told me that I looked like a 60-year-old despite being 23. I have always felt self-conscious about looking older than I was as someone who always looked older, so that comment made me feel uneasy. Before you say it's because it's true, anyone who has met me in-person says I look about my age. You also tell me that you don't like it when I send you messages or post comments.
If you can apologize to me for what you said, then I will unblock all of your Instagram accounts.
@@crazycoollady you conspired with Connor Gentry, so I don’t care.
Peace from up north Alaska
I took Barrow and Adak off my must-do list, maybe later on down the road. I've got other, possibly more exotic and rarely seen bucket list trip reports lined up for the fall. Looks like a nice flight though, on Alaska. In the State of Alaska :)

Alaska is very nice and the airline as well, I saw Delta airlines 737-900er my favorite airline pull into the gate from ATL 🇺🇸.
I got to go to Barrow, Alaska great video liking seeing you too..
Although I have lived my entire adult life in California, I grew up as a child in Alaska. I spent many hours hanging out at ANC waiting for my dad's flights to come in. My gosh how that airport has changed. You're making me homesick buddy!

Barrow is close to where Will Rogers died in a plane crash in 1935!
Thanks for the video, would you recommend row 6 of premium class? Is there more legroom? Thanks :)
Top of the world to you
Would be cool if jazz flew out of my home airport MDT he has passed it in the train from NYC to Pittsburgh

Is that a mullet on your head
I'll be taking advantage of the alcohol! LOL! That's exactly what I would do! Cheers! Thanks!
People usually visit Barrow in July and August when everyone does a polar plunge in the Artic Ocean
When heading back to Anchorage his flight gets cancelled due to poor visibility which happens a lot, QFS Aviation was going to go to Barrow only for his flight to get cancelled due to poor visibility when landing and his plane diverted to Fairbanks
Wait for the video to come out, you don’t have to spoil everything!
Honestly, you really do not realize how great you had it, in the formerly called, Barrow, Alaska! My husband lived their for years and when we married in Barrow, Alaska, by the ocean, that had frozen over, as it did then, I also lived and worked in Barrow. It was obviously not as great as what you experienced, and you were lucky to not have been there in the dead of winter, with no light. Also, we never had all the emenites you enjoyed whilst in Barrow. In fact we also had a baby, so we made it work. Seriously, you need to be grateful, and stop complaining, their was one small plane at the time we were there, all general seating, with no leg room, or fancy seats...so be a bit more greatfull for what you do have!! With no disrespect, you only spent a few days in Barrow, not years...so you really do not truly have a feel for what it was or is like to live there.
Hi jazzyguy

Next time you visit Alaska fly to Adak the furthest west city in the United States

Dude, why are you wearing a nasty mask?
What I find interesting about your video the first time seeing your channel is all the people wearing masks in Alaska, what the hell's going on there! I thought Alaska was full of rebels I guess not!
Alaska airlines Wi-Fi sucks on their plane!
Alaska Airline overall is just okay!
The flight took place on June 8, 2021 not 2022. It's in the description and hopefully that connects the dots.
The wi-fi on just about all Alaska planes has been upgraded to 2KU which is a new satellite system that’s about 17x faster than the old ATG version. That’s about as far as aviation wi-fi has come these days, with exception for starlink rolling out on some airlines soon.
Alaska’s new wifi system does support the ability to stream video, and is much faster. Plus it’s free for all t-mobile customers.
