      @@urigeheadmot1196 lots of distortion on a really low mid-bass basically. I had some tests and managed to make some interesting benny-l'ly sounds. Ofc not exactly like he did, but sure thing it was in a right direction. Also it's mostly about a good waveform that leaves almost the same picture but changes a little bit, creating this "car motor" or whatever you wanna call it sound. At least this was my experience

    2:33 in serum this can be achieved more specifically in the osc table edit menu you can find and add/subtract the fundamental/any unwanted frequencies if you head over to 'Process' you will get a drop down menu with a bunch of stuff and you will see something like 'remove fundamental' in there select it and it will obviously remove the fundamental. I just thought this is way is more optimal for the workflow.

    • @artfxdnb

      True, this video is old, I would just edit the FFT bins instead and remove the fundamental or indeed use the process filter

    I've asked several times, but it seems, that there is no producer, that can't handle this. A guy with the channel "noise is king" did it once. So here is my request:
    808, 909 kinda sounding short and long hihats, crash cymbals and metallic percussive sounds like that. If you give it a try, that would be amazing and help me to synthesize own drum samples. Because snares, Tom's, kicks aren't that hard to make.

    Can you do a tutorial on sidechaining basses in DnB?
    I typically make heavier dubstep so the sidechain is usually more than it needs to be. But with DnB Im having a hard time ducking the basses yet making it sound... not awkward. Iv'e even tried multiband ducking.

    • @09Ozymandias
      @09Ozymandias 5 років тому

      I use multi band ducking using Fabfilter Pro MB. I sidechain just the sub bass frequencies in the bass to just the high frequencies of the kick (so it's just triggered by the transient) , give it a few milliseconds of lookahead and about 50ms of release. The sub frequencies in the kid last for ages to they make the ducking go on for too long. So that's why I just use the high frequencies of the kick as the trigger, because they don't last too long.

    • @vincentvandeperre1670
      @vincentvandeperre1670 4 роки тому

      I dunno kicks should be higher on the frequency range then your bass normall you dont use a lot of sidechain compresion with dubstep its more sample selection

    • @09Ozymandias
      @09Ozymandias 5 років тому

      I don't really think in scales and modes any more. I just think "Here's the root note and these other notes all have their own vibe". Flat second has a dark, ominous sound. Flat 5th is jarring and sounds kind of satanic. And so on. I usually avoid major third because it sounds too major. You can use any notes, just be aware of how they sound and whether you want that sound or not. Likewise with chords. They've all got their own flavour, it's a case of whether you want that flavour or not.
