Blimey Johnny you certainly seem to put loads of effort into making your cars safe and solid, as well as looking tip top, I'm pretty sure most people don't put that much work into older cars before selling them. All credit to you and your work ethic, you deserve to succeed.
Well done in getting the Honda fluid ! It’s a special blend for the crv rear diff to stop the slip noise. You wouldn’t believe the warranty from dealers using a substitute with the same spec. Worked on the development of that car, was ok in its day if a bit noisy on idle when the diesel is concerned.
I was sitting in the back of my dad's CRV yesterday and heard this really weird noise when he went on full lock....which sounded oddly familiar, and then I remembered why! I've sent this to him to have a look at - can't hurt to try!

These are seriously underated cars? I find the cut off point for reliable older cars is 2008? Dpfs introduced and vw 1.6 common rail engines causing alot of egr problems from 2009? And to find a reliable automatic car nowadays is near impossible with dsg and wait for it the ford powershift automatic? First time watching and deffo know this is gona be a favourite keepup the good work? Be good to have a video of what you consider the best reliable cars between 2 and 3 thousand especially automatics?
There are so many out there and depending on where you are, you may have some cracking local auction houses so worth doing some research in your area. BCA is generally the biggest player 👍
@@JohnnyGetsCash thanks Johnny, I tried BCA and they won't let the small business owners in, and copart is the biggest disappointment so far, I won two bids and they then deleted all record of my win and relisted them, that's why I asked, there don't seem to be many honest auction houses left in the UK.
@@guyhamiltonyt sorry to hear that. Auctions can be a bit cut throat, in lots of ways. Don’t write off the possibility of private purchase though. There are still bargains to be had and if you invest your time in going to see a car, understanding what it needs and dealing with the owner face to face. That is what so many people fail to do and then wonder why they aren’t scoring cars for the right money 👍

hi Johnny tryna start my first road to a super/better car trading series, where do you search for your cars a lot of the ones I'm finding need a lot of mechanical things fixed or high mileage cars etc
That’s awesome, I hope it works out well for you! To be honest, when you’re starting out there will be a lot of bad cars out there that you’ll need to soft through before you find a suitable start point. My best advice would be that anything can be worth buying as long as you can buy it for the right price so make sure you’re armed with full knowledge of what the car needs vs how much that’ll cost either for you to deal with (if you’re able), or to get someone else to do it. Best of luck!

@@JohnnyGetsCash What do you think about the 2008 honda legend? I`m looking to buy one :)
There's a service bulletin for rear diff servicing, drop the fluid, fill, get to temp and drop again. Then refill. It'll drive like a new car.

I miss my CRV (EX Spec). I had to sell it dues to the stupid ULEZ expansion. It's a very reliable, economical, and powerful family car.
They’re genuinely lovely cars. I was really impressed with this one!
ULEZ expansion= tax on the middle and lower income homes, it's a disgrace.

Well done!
What do you use on the external plastic trims?
I use a product called ‘Polytrol’ from Owatrol. It seems to give me great results so I would recommend it!
Those crv's are common for noisy rear diffs, I had 1 a few years ago, mileage was fairly high at 170000 ISH, but it didn't knock, just whined....
Yeh I think a lot of people neglect to do the fluid change so it seems to be a common complaint!
