- It isn't always easy, but we usually get the job done. LOL This job went well, but that may have been due in part to good planning. The tide can really throw a job like this into the dumpster. LOL

It’s amazing that you dock the barge, all that tonnage and do it so smoothly.
Thank you for watching and welcome to the channel Donald. CUOTO
Like both locales Tim. Thanks for the video's.
Thank you for watching both channels Derrick. CUOTO
Tim, You have the coolest job!!!
Thank you for watching Mike. I lije to think so too! CUOTO

Thank you for watching Chief. CUOTO
Clearly you were born to do this. What a joy to watch thank you for taking us. With. You

RESTORE OUR REPUBLIC / JEFFREY PRATHER ...
Thank you for watching. CUOTO
Also, with the camera stationary, I can zoom on the video and focus on details of what you're talking about that I wouldn't be able to see otherwise.
Thank you for watching Nate. I'm glad you got it working. CUOTO
Thanks for the video nice to see you up here in the old stomper grounds
Thank you for watching George! CUOTO
Another great video. I'm glad you're back in NY even if only for a short time.
Worry not Lew! I've got more than a month's worth of NYC content in the can. Thank you for watching. CUOTO
Nice work Capt. Just passed on of your company’s tugs in the OBC
Nice! Thank you for watching! Be safe out there. CUOTO
I just can't get enough of this!!
It just drives me nuts, when you fast forward out of boredom!
Enjoy every vid, not to mention your leisure time on your sailboat!
Crazy Cool!
Thank you very much Rory! I really appreciate you watching both channels! CUOTO
What a dance! Great choreography by Captains and crew.
Thank you for watching Steve. CUOTO
Born and raised in Perth Amboy, NJ.. Love this perspective
Thank you for watching Ken. CUOTO
I get the slow speed approaching your spot. Sometimes we have to spot cars on the train while holding onto a whole train, slow and steady, trust your conductor and slow and steady. Totally get it , Tim. Nice vid. Love this stuff
Thank you very much! I appreciate that. CUOTO
Captain Tim: One of your best video's. Thank you.
Thank you very much Bill! And thank you for supporting the channel. CUOTO
Good to see you Tim, nice job!
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you for watching Milan. CUOTO
You put on a great show with the ever changing New York harbor as a stage, where every moment brings something new. As an aside, what is the structure that looks like a shower or toilet behind your chair? I don't recall seeing that on your old 3000 class boat. CUTO.
Thank you for watching Sam. Nope, the 3000s and 4200s both have that. We call it the tube. It is an internal ladder for escape and entry if you don't want to walk up the steps. We have it covered to prevent all our cold air falling down and the warm air rising up. CUOTO
Fair Winds and Following Seas. CUOTO👍✌
Thank you for watching Gregory! CUOTO
Great clip as always Capt. Thanks for posting it up. CUOTO
Thank you for watching and supporting the channel James! CUOTO
Nice and smooth Cap
Thank you very much. CUOTO
Great video again Capt Tim!
Thank you for watching Roger. CUOTO
nice views excellent video thank you tim
Thank you for watching James. CUOTO
You and your crew are masters of your trade. Great communication and skills. Never approach a dock faster than your willing to hit it. Holds true for any size vessel. Nice and easy. From timing the arrival strategically to coinside with slack tide to Piloting into the hole adjusting for the small Ebb. Well done Captain and crew.
Thank you very much for watching and for the kind words Brent. CUOTO
6:30 - Ah yeah, so.... I went and looked at this spot on Google Earth. There are at least 16 sunken ships visible over on the New York side around that point marked "Sharrott's Shoreline", a clump further south right on the shore, and even more near the bridge a bit off the shore. It's a bloody mess.
😂😂😂😂 It sure is. 😂 Thank you very much for watching. CUOTO
Thank you Tim
Thank you for watching. CUOTO
Excellent energy management, Captain.
Thank you Peter. CUOTO
So much action! Interesting seeing that blue crane removing scrap metal or as you said sand from the barge?
Thank you for watching William..It could be scrap, but I didn't think they moved scrap at that yard, but rather only sand. CUOTO
Fascinating.
Thank you for watching. CUOTO
Maintenance mechanic here at Greenwich terminals in Philadelphia. Love the channel!
Thank you for watching Ralph. Welcome to the channel. CUOTO
Cool video. So many kinds of barges. What’s a sand barge? Is it full of sand? 😂😂😂
Thank you for watching. Yes. But more accurately, it's probably an aggregate barge filled with sand, stone or dredge spoils. CUOTO
Masterfully executed again Mr. Bat! 😉
Thank you for watching. CUOTO
Been there done that very good job!
Thank you for watching and welcome to the channel. CUOTO
Another Master class in berthing, thanks Tim a pleasure to watch.
Thank you very much for watching Tony. CUOTO
Yes Tim I'm not a tropics lover, being a retired truck driver/heavy equipment owner operator from Michigan, that loves big iron with big diesels, on land and water! and the skills it takes to run them safely, esp around other boats and tight spots, thanks for another good video!
Thank you very much for watching Terry. CUOTO
Great job
Thank you for watching. CUOTO
Hi Captain Tim!
Very expertly done I must say!
CUOTO
Thank you very much Mellissa for watching and supporting the channels! CUOTO

Thank you very much Brian. CUOTO
well done Tim your the man G
Thank you very much Garth! CUOTO
Still enjoying NYC Harbor. Thanks for the video. Hope you enjoyed FLL, fishing was good up in JAX.
Thank you for watching Jack. It's a little cold up here this morning for my latin blood. 😂 CUOTO
Another cool video from NY Harbor.
Question: What is the yellow flashing light on the barge starboard side house mast?
Never mind. Someone already asked and you answered. CUOTO!
Thank you very much for watching John. And a big thank you for reading the comments. CUOTO
Thank you for the mini education. Your channel is very interesting.
Thank you for watching. We always love having Hawaiian viewers over here! CUOTO
👍☑ Thanks Tim for the effort, it ain't easy making and editing videos!
You are Corrrrrrrect Sir! 😂 Thank you for watching. CUOTO
Does the assist tug get paid based on the time they attend to you or do they just cover an area for whoever needs them?
Thank you for watching Nate. They are dispatched all over when and wherever needed. There is usually a 2 hour minimum. CUOTO
As always Tim very interesting, hope the guys out on deck didn’t get to wet
😂😂😂 Thank you very much for watching Mike. It makes them saltier sailors! (Or a good incentive to move up). CUOTO
Awesome content, luv it !
Thank you for watching Richard. CUOTO
Love the channel dude
I've been practicing walking the boat sideways in my twin engine steel cruiser I'm not perfect yet but much better since watching your videos about walking the boat.
You have no idea how happy that makes me to hear! Thank you very much. CUOTO
So where you docked looks like it is the dockside of Chevron or where Shell was (I am going back to the 60's and early 70's) Just about another 1/2 mile was American Smelting and Refining (AS&R) my father worked there as a Supervisor way back then, we used to drive him into work sometimes.. AS&R shut down many years ago.. Just cool seeing this, as it brings back memories.. :)
Thank you for watching Ken. You have broken all of our rules. 😂 We try very hard to not directly name tugs, companies or customers as it gets me in trouble with my employer. CUOTO
@@TimBatSea These were companies that were around when I was a child, back in the 60's.. I don't think that caused any harm, sorry if it did... Everything has changed so much since then.. I drove through the area back around 3 years ago and didn't recognize much from when I was a wee little one..
I had a boat back in the 70's and we used to go all over that river and the bay area..
The Caribbean is interesting but I like NY. How frequently do reportable collisions with docks happen in the port? How is accident investigation handled? What are the ramifications for the captain and crew?
Thank you for watching. Oooofff...There is a lot to unpack here. To be short, accidents (collisions and ellisions) do happen. Depending on the scope of the damage, one could lose their job, license or even their life. There are forms to be filled out and drug tests and statements to be made. In the end, it's better to not have an accident. CUOTO
@@TimBatSea I drive school bus so I agree.
I'm really enjoying the variety of maneuvers on your temporary duty in NY. When you connect your fuel hoses to the shore facility, is there some kind of manual quick connect, or do those big hoses have to be bolted in place?
Thank you for watching. They are manually bolted together. CUOTO
Another slick parking maneuver.
Sometimes you use an assist tug. Is your vessel ever the assist tug?
Funny you should ask Ralph. I have a video in the queue of us doing two assist jobs. Stand by. CUOTO
Haven't been on for a while. How come you are back in the states? Enjoy you videos.
Thank you for watching. I was filling in for a few weeks
CUOTO
Tim does the company move you guys around as needed
Thank you for watching Ed. Yes and No. We all have "our own" boats that we are regularly assigned to, but when needed and the person has the skill set and pilotage to fill in, we do when our personal life allows. CUOTO
Tim, We need someone like you to pilot our ferries between Hyannis and Nantucket. The pilots we have are not exactly smooth at docking.
😂😂😂😂 Thank you very much for watching. I'm sure it's very difficult. I only film the jobs that go well. 😂 We all have to eat a banana once in a while. 😂 CUOTO
Is that the Outerbridge Crossing up ahead?
It sure is. Thank you for watching Samantha. CUOTO
@@TimBatSea No problem. I know the Caribbean is prettier but I love seeing you up here. 👋
Tim B you are doing a good job 😅
Thank you for watching George. CUOTO
Thank you for sharing Captain! Holler on your way past Corlears, I'll toss you a Bagel! Great work and BZ to all aboard! #CUOTO ~__/)__*
Thank you very much for watching. I would really live one right about now. CUOTO
I know I probably missed this... but are you back up north? I love this content!
Thank you for watching. I filled in for a few weeks and shot a ton of content. CUOTO
Just on target, as usual. CUOTO.
Thank you very much for watching. CUOTO
My chart has the obstruction as Maurer rock and shows a hump that comes up to 23 foot charted depth. Can see that being an issue for some but not you...
Thank you for watching Alex. CUOTO
Hey Tim welcome back to NY, I’m interested in digging into becoming a deck and eventually maybe a navigation officer, you got any advice on how to get my foot in the door? CUOTO
Thank you for watching Jay and welcome to the channel. You could start with watching this video,
ua-cam.com/video/UcQKSPGOBZQ/v-deo.html
Followed by giving John a call or email at MarinerCredentials.com CUOTO
@@TimBatSea thank you so much tim I’m looking into it !!
What are you doing back in the States let alone Perth Amboy New Jersey
😂😂😂 Thank you very much for watching Allen. In that video (2 months ago) I was back working over in NYC for a couple weeks. But I'm back in NYC (Yonkers this morning) on SV Paquita making my way to New London CT. CUOTO
Cool 😎
Thank you for watching D. CUOTO
What is the Amber light flashing on the barge.
Thank you for watching. That is supposed to be shut off. 😂 When pushing the barge from the stern, in addition to port and starboard nav lights, a flashing amber is used to signify a barge being pushed. CUOTO
Tim just a thought, do you think putting a camera up at the stem of the barge would improve viewers awareness of what your doing & talking about🤔 IDK about security or legality of it, just a thought, B safe.
Thank you for watching John. I think it would, but there is the entire "intrinsically safe" thing about the cameras I have that keeps me from being able to film on the barge. CUOTO
Looks like someone is AOL from Puerto Rico ?
My home town Perth Amboy don’t get no respect.
Thank you for watching Donox. Did you mean AWOL? 😂 No, I was just filling in for a few weeks. CUOTO
Thank you for watching Richard. I love Perth Amboy. CUOTO
Kind of an Off-Topic question, Captain. Your Closed Captions always come up as "Dutch" even though I never selected that language on any video. None of my other subscriptions do that. I've checked for any settings I could make on your "home" page and don't seeing thing I could change. 🤔
Is it possible that you have a setting in your YT (creator) account that could affect this language setting? 🧐
It's an extremely minor situation, just requires a few clicks. Perhaps I could start using the Dutch text to learn a new language! 🤪 😬
😂😂😂😂 Thank you very much for watching. So UA-cam auto defaults to English CC. I take that file and run it through a translator into 8 languages. Dutch happens to be the first one of the 8 I do and I suspect that's why you see it. But you should be able to find a drop down menu and select any language of the 8 you want to learn. 😂 By the way, please let me know if this works and get back to me at timbatsea@gmail.com. Thank you very much. CUOTO
@@TimBatSea Thanks, Captain, I suspected that the order in the drop down list was the reason. Changing it is simple. And I don't always have CC on, usually just to re-read some (nautical?) word that I'm not familiar with. Frankly CC can be funny/strange when it really doesn't 'hear' a word correctly! 😂
Definitely not like parking a car
Thank you for watching. CUOTO
Great job....CUOTO..
Thank you James! CUOTO
Nothing to it👍✌
That's right! Thank you for watching. CUOTO
👍👍👍👊😎
Thank you for watching George. CUOTO
Worst Swift Trucking Terminal in the World: Perth Amboy. Every time i left there it was just another Day that affirmed God was in charge not humans.
😂😂😂 Thank you very much for watching George. CUOTO
