- A fun bush trip in the DHC2 Beaver - leaving the beach at Byron Bay in the DHC2 Beaver, exploring the national parks to the west, and finally landing on a farm airstrip in Murwillumbah.
We use the Parallel 42 Campout utility to provide a tent, sleeping bags, food, and our pet dog.

I just discovered this gem of an aircraft today! Absolutely phenomenal.
Took her out on 2 VOR, NDB/ADF flights and its just a step above most aircraft the sim gives you.
The fact it has a rudamentary AutoPilot and all the Nav features you need, it allows for some great journeys.
Wish i had found it earlier. Now time to sit with a coffee and see it flown properly 😅 thanks Jon
Nothing like the smell of eggs and bacon cooking on the skillet on an open fire...hope you brought your fly rod!
First of all Always Enjoy these types of videos andddd Bangers and Mash mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm and some good coffee or perhaps some Juice orrrrrr apparently an OZ delight .................Marmite on toast. Hope you took photos maybe a roo or two.
@40.50. Beautiful
Beautiful flight! The Beaver is a beast!
That FS realistic effects you added on the climb out looks so awesome. I hope they add something like to the Xbox marketplace.
in my best Oz Acent ( lol ) As I was putting shrimp on the Barbie a Bush plane flew overhead and didn't even land so we could share a beer lol
Fair dinkum. It was that Michael Cane again, and the pilot was Mick Dundee, cheers mate!
I have been flying in Madagascar. I wanted to see the baobab trees that only grow there and are endangered. I have bot seen them yet. I do hope they put some there.
The Sea Planes that fly out of Rose Bay in Sydney are Beavers. It still is classed as an international airport.
Beautiful flight. Love the beaver. Float version is the best float plane in the sim IMO. BTW. I'm surprised your plane lasted as long as it did with the alternator turned off ;)
ha, ha I noticed that too. I wonder if it's gonna start in the morning?
So was I :)
Jonathon - you really like flying around in my Patches - 1st the Whitsundays (you haven't tried the new HI airport yet)
and now in my home territory. You completed what we call the Scenic Rim and the high mountain in the centre is
as you surmised - a defunct volcano named Mount Warning by Captain Cook and its peak is the first place in Australia
to see the sun the Lighthouse at BB - is the most Eastern Part of Australia - and the full area is known as
"The Green behind the Gold" - the Gold Coast - that is ! A very enjoyable video - I might try it myself now😉
I loved it :)
You are flying over the exact area where 'I'm a Celebrity' is filmed . 28:40 .
You seem like you are a good pilot have you ever thought about doing any videos or you set up failures like engine out and stuff. I've been enjoying your videos I had the sub keep up the good work
It's funny you say that - I was wondering about doing something along those lines the other day.
That's my favorite livery for the Beaver too! I wish it didn't have the Canadian registration and flag though.
There are lots of custom liveries for it around :)
I mean, the plane's manufacturer is De Havilland Canada after all. Canadian flags seem appropriate.
@@en0n126 more of them were sold outside of Canada than there. They have worked all over the world under many countries registrations. I know all 1620-some instances of the plane were made by De Havilland of Canada. That wasn't my point, simply that I like the paint color but I wish it was not with a Canadian registration. That's all. There are many liveries available for MSFS as Jonathan pointed out.
Hi Jonathan, I was wondering if you could answer a question on the L-39 Albatros in MS 2020 and why it is so cheap, am I right in thing its only £8 or so, thanks for any info.
It's not realistic. It was released as part of the "Air Races" add-on. It's dumbed down to make MSFS more accessible to casual games - which is no bad thing.
@@jonbeckett Thank you so much for that info, I couldn't make it out, I wont bother then, cheers.
Is it the video or was something really hammering your Frame rate in this flight, normally looks pretty fluid in your videos
I was using a 4K monitor :) I've switched back.
@@jonbeckett it looked a lot smoother after the Flight Sim crash and restart.
@@MarcDavison maybe there was something else going on as well - who knows :)
