Actually, I queued the "Midnight Lament" right after "Lullaby for a Princess" in my personal playlist - because as gorgeous as the latter song is, it absolutely must be followed by more happy one, about Celestia and Luna finally making amends.
Of all fandom's songs, this one is a marvel. It facilitates the most important point of the entire show: The importance of dear people above everything else. Imagine if all of us could be as sincere with our friends and family. Judging by the state of things, people would do good to learn from the "childish cartoons." They often ask: "What is there to see, anyway?" This one thing over here.

I'm quite an emotional person. I remember my joy when I listened to "Midnight Lament" was about sisterly love, forgiveness. You managed to convey such bright feelings in that song. After all, in it, Celestia and Luna asked each other for forgiveness. There is nothing brighter in this world when two people (in our case, ponies) ask each other for forgiveness and reconcile. And after all, as I understand it, each considers only HERSELF to blame and each seeks to apologize. This... when I realized this, I just burst into tears from the realization of how bright the relationship between ponies, and indeed between any creatures, can be.
Hello to Aurelleah, I wanted to comment on this song. I just never had the time. This song I must say is in my opinion your best song. People will disagree, but I feel that this song and "On wings of monnlight" go well together with the story of the two sisters. Midnight Lament really connects with the regret Celestia has. I know this song has been on here for a few years already, but I am new to the scene of mlp and the fandom.

The darkness more symbolizes luna's feelings of dispair. When the darkness goes away it's less sad for her

I realize it's just a nickname, but tia is also spanish for "aunt" aka the sister of one's mother/father. Although Celestia is Luna's older sister, not her aunt, it's still kinda fitting.

And I am late, AGAIN. This song, it portrays the conflict happening between Luna and Celestia. It appeals to the ears, and the artwork not only helps the song, but is overall AWESOME. You and your dragons continue to surprise me with songs and artwork. The pianist has outdone themselves, and the vocalists have beautiful voices that evenly match their respective characters. Again, you probably will not notice this comment, but I wrote it because I realize that you have stolen my musical heart, refuse to give it up, and I am grateful to have you as my favorite orchestrator. So keep the heart. You may need the dragon inside of it.

About "not affording" to release your music for free, I'd just mention that if I was a pony musician, there is no way I could make fellow bronies pay for my music, I'd just get a part-time job to pay for the bills instead of making my online family pay. But that's just how I feel, we're all different :) I'll just rip the youtube audio then, since I'm not in the best financial situation either.
My issue is that I'm actually working full time already, on my own in an apartment and I've got an overdue phone and internet bill because economy sucks and because of unforseen expenses, mainly

+Dustykatt Rhoades +Aurelleah It's a complex issue - I personally try and respect creators like Aurelleah, but it's not helped by the fact that there's creators in this fandom who EXPECT you to use rippers. Look up a certain "Vibrant Sound" for example. There's also the debate of how much any fan music is worth, as many would say songs like "Proud to be a Brony" don't actually deserve the same price tag as Gryph0n's other music (I'm on the other side of the debate, but it's still worth mentioning). Long story short, many of the oldest musicians in the fandom (who've pay walled since day 1) consider themselves lucky if they even make seven dollars net profit off their fan works. It's just how fan music WORKS, no matter how shitty that may be - you're supposed to be doing this as a gift to the creators and the other fans, and regardless of how art SHOULD be treated they'll take that logic to the extreme at times.
Makenshi in particular listens to hundreds more songs than I ever could in a week for Horse Music Herald, and personally speaking, there's still plenty of fan songs I can't put into my own college budget over a year later, others which I forgot about for months on end due to the simple fact that there was no convenient way for me to listen to them; I'm on the side of supporting artists, but please don't take Makenshi's slip at face value. I only ever see him provide extremely positive comments, and even if he didn't he pours lots of energy into the community beyond even HMH. Don't look at this solely from a creator's perspective... you can't, or all you'll end up doing is angering the fans that fight to support you most.
I'm sorry if this angers you in any way, I know you'll at least dislike me somewhat for speaking out. Some others have blocked me for my honest opinion, and I'm afraid you'll just do the same. However, this is really what I think, and I'd rather support a wonderful community member than have another - well, not even happy, I've probably at least annoyed you before, just not MAD at me. It wouldn't be fair to Makenshi.

I was told this was amazing when it first premiered. I put it on my Watch Later and never actually watched it. Well, I played it now that I'm doing a mindless task and catching up on my Watch Laters. I think the overall quality of the song might have been overstated a bit, but it is still extremely well done. These singers have amazing talent! It actually took this song to make me realize, too, the plothole of why Celestia did not or could not remove the nightmare curse in the first place. The possibility that Celestia acted rashly and did not consider external corruption suggests a much deeper sorrow within her. It suggests that not only is she saddened at losing her sister for a millennium, but that she could have saved her so long ago.
My perspective of their relationship has changed drastically because of this song. That probably has more to do with me than the song itself, but it still made an impact.
I wrote this song with metaphorical lyrics, the lyrics are designed to be able to be applied to other situations besides just the original story; for me it was a metaphor for forgiving myself, struggling with self-condemnation/depression for the longest time, being able to soar above in the world of happiness again. I tied parts of the original story in with this to help cement the lyrics though for sure :>

I dearly love anything to do with Celestia and Luna's relationship. Whether it's the awe of seeing a force strong enough to overcome 1,000 years or whether it's a strange obsession with all things ridiculously sappy, seeing fanworks about the positive aspects of these two always makes me smile.
