Two of these were built with twin turbos and intercoolers and produced 460hp at the rear wheels. Appearance mods include a Veilside Version 3 wide body kit with corbon fiber hood, Speedway Engineering hood pins, Ghostlight Scarab graphics, Ganador carbon fiber mirros, and Veilside Andrew Evo 19" rims. This, in my opinion, is the BEST introduction to any Fast and Furious movie ever. The adrenaline rush combined with the music and atmosphere really do a good job setting the tone that we are in Japan now and this isn’t your ordinary street race. And it also gives a good introduction of who the main characters are, all in the span of 10 minutes!

this whole scene is basically everyones first try on a racing game
It's just like when I played the drift mode in Need for Speed: Underground as a kid. I kept thinking that those events were circuit races set in parking garages because I knew ABSOLUTLY *NOTHING* about the drifting technique at all back then and that you had to drive sideways to rack up points and outscore the competition. Not to mention, given how young I was, I sucked BALLS at console gaming in general, and to this day, I still have a hard time living it down. While it's not uncommon for kids to get good at video games at a young age, usually you would have to have years of experience to even have a chance at winning at anything in video games. As I got older and started to understand games more and more, all while training myself often, I feel like I can actually win at something nowadays.

It was Rhys Millen, professional drifter from New Zealand.
The original plan was to tow the 350Z with a cable sideways, but Rhys insisted to Justin Lin that he could do the stunt without hitting the walls. Not only did he do it once, he did take after take without damaging the car.

What really stands out for me is DK in this race. At 2:19, Sean is focused on DK but DK is becoming one with his car slowly. He feels around the steering wheel and shift while reving his car to remember that he’s been here before. He pays no attention to Sean whatsoever at the start of the race, and the look he has on his face at the starting line after he finishes reving his car shows that he has successfully become one with the road and his car. He knew he was gonna win for sure. It’s the small things like this that the new f a f movies are missing tbh
it’s mirrored in the last race as well, with Sean not bothering to look while DK is the one to take a glance. Neat little detail i’ve never noticed.

Remember watching this multiple times when i was little just to dance and jump around to Speed, I was also into cars. One of the best Fast and Furious movies out of all Fast and Furious movies.
