Slide notes and you can make some really cool surging base notes. Fantastic box to add to a DJ set. Shame it's a bit fiddly. Korg should take this and the Volca drum and make a grown up drum machine with bigger knobs and buttons.
As with volca keys it goes out of tune if played without stopping for some time. Its ok to 'kick' in live performance, but not as melodic instrument. What is really interesting is , while it goes out of tune you might catch very cool sounds that. As far as predictable kick , you just have to sample it, otherwise its not consistent enough to form a backbone to a track. On the other hand, tuned 808s from this thing are just the best. None of the samples or even analog synths can touch it when doing 808 bass
Again, that's what I dislike about this machine, the attack/Click sound is all over the place, flapping in the breeze, you can't get a consistent 4/4 Beat out of it. Analog fans might say it's meant to be like that, it's ANALOG but it should at least optionally be able to produce a consistent series of equal sounding kicks in a row...

I like the subtle change in pitch as it goes. Gives a composition a sense of edge, a descent into chaos. Very Gearfacts :)
