I miss when OTKs required Emperor Thaurissan, sometimes also Drakkari Enchanter and most imporatntly could not be done before turn 10.
Otks back then: entire deck has to be built around them. Barely room for missplay. Aggro demolishes you at least half the time.
Otks now: haha neutral legendary with infinite value go brrrrr
I mean, it is mostly because there are now many ways to draw cheaply the combo pieces, which nowadays consists of maybe 4 cards.
Also back then You would have to draw all deck cuz combo consisted of 5+ cards now its just 2 cards and puff -20 HP

@@luketerimz3117 Every expansion is just a power creep, but there was always 1 neutral legendary in every expansion which was solely, or with some little help, a solid win condition.

im glad that i play in 2016! all tcg games seems to end up like this! always starts like a regular game and then they become crazy insane with fancy powers and u can win in turn 3

I used to watch and play hs religiously back then, knew every card, I dozed off when boomsday project came around, recently i saw some videos about modern hs including this one and im like: WTF happened to this game?
@@TheUrionak yeah felt the same, I just moved on it was not interesting anymore. I was not feeling like who's the best player win but more like games are so polarized you know who win at the moment you see your opponents. never gonna forget playing control mage during Patches warrior era. it was so interesting to do the best play and all to control opponent. now aggro can create card generation so it's impossible to control them

Just go hit legend in few hours with shadow priest on wild and play arena or duels while available for the rest of the month. More fun.
Yup arena is way better now, especially if you're looking for real other experience than repetetive standard
And thats why i don't spend money on the game anymore. It isnt really a 2 player game anymore. My winrate with casino mage is as good as any top deck.
Watch Blizzard come out with "Hearthstone classic" in a few years.

Man 2016 was the golden age of Hearthstone. It was all downhill from there.
This game got very stupid with the death king class, like, what's the point of playing when your opponent death king have a card that says ''revive FIVE undead with charge and 2/2'' to clean your board with the minimum effort and ALSO getting bodies for their cards?.
Not to mention the stupid weapon that let's them have legendaries OVER and OVER again...
Hearthstone is dead if you're not willing to spend lots of chedda! I bought like 150 usd when it first came out and not since. Now when with event decks and cards no WAY i can get past diamond without one of the 5 move win decks.
Make a deck to counter never ending rogue decks...all of a sudden nothing but time warp mages...counter mage decks...nothing but druids. All 5-7 moves can't be counted. It's just not fun to play at all with these decks. Going back to mtg lol

does anyone notice how in 2024 hearthstone, theres no shadows whenever a card is drawn/played? but in OG hearthstone theres shadows and this level of depth to it. why would they remove that?

Sorry to crush your bubble my guy, but people would eventually get bored if they did not get stronger cards, that’s how you are still able to play it.

Man the game could get new cards and strategies but this mentality of every expansion get stronger cards make the game boring because all decks become equal like Highlander warrior because everyone will use Brann, Tro Gun, Trial by fire, Sanitize, Zilleax and Dr. Kaboom... Why all the decks are equal? Because some cards are ridicoulsy strong so there is no fun in creating your own deck because some stupid overpowered cards/combo.
Lol this is cherrypicking at its finest. C'Thun wasn't that great at the time barring C'Thun Warrior as a control option, which is of course slower and could take the most advantage out of the win condition.
In fact, Blizzard pushed C'Thun Druid so freaking much as you would expect from the Druid devs that still do the same thing to this day. Yet it didn't work as expected, so guess what? they created Jade Druid later
BTW, I also miss when you had at least 1 turn to react to the opponent's ending turn. Nowadays there's so much unreactable damage from the hand that it doesn't feel rewarding at all. This problem also existed in earlier hearthstone though.

the ideal combo is just coining out necrium blade on turn 2 (swing face to get it to 1 durability), snowfall graveyard on 3, and on 4 you play naval mine, shadestone skulker and then kill the skulker by either spelling it, or ramming it into an enemy. The rest of the deck is just draw and 2 counterfeit coins.

Because it turns out that people that coped on old school hearthstone didn’t even go back to play old school hearthstone. And that was before bots used it as a farming ground, mode was dead on arrival just about lmao.

Playing ladder is about grind, why waste time on it.

cause playing until turn 10 is part of the game core gameplay, if it was designed to play ONLY fast games, we would print at max 5 mana cards, play Marvel Snap if it's what you are looking for. if you played old hearthstone, you would understand how interesting it was to play control decks instead of who has the best opening in aggro mirror
@@gwynbleidd8723 the game is just as much about out tempoing your opponent or blowing them out in the midgame. aggro and tempo decks have, and always will be, part of hearthstone. face hunter, pirate warrior and quest or various tempo rogue variations have been part of the games meta since release
@@Zeto. i already know it son. my point is that HS used to be more than these, there is a wide variety of deck style, it's not just aggro decks.
@@gwynbleidd8723 I hate aggros too, but in my pov it mostly happens in Wild mode though we missed those old times and cards that we have to play Wild, u can change your view I guess by counter it or just join it
