Thank you! More to come after I get my callsign. I'm coming from CB, so I'm trying to get acclamated to the equipment, and listen to whatever I can find on the air so I can get used to the transmission protocol. Once I feel confident with my abilities, I'm going to go take the technician test. Hope to catch you on the airwaves sometime! =)
@Binky40SW I actually carry a Springfield 1911A1 GI. It's a little modified though, just a few drop-in mods, and Pachmayr grips. Thanks for watching. =)
That's the easy part! Go to your memory where you've got all your frequencies / names saved. Push and hold either the up arrow, or down arrow. It should start scanning. If you want to reverse directions, just click the 2nd dial once in a direction.
Tune in freq. Press & Hold "MR/MW" Select which slot you want it to go in with the dial Press "MR/MW" Naming: Press "F L" Press "0 / Set" Dial to "29 - NM WRT" Press "F L" Press "F L" again to delete current name Use dial to select # / letters, press FL each time you're done with a letter Once the box is full, press the transmit button once
@Binky40SW I'm one of "those" open-carriers. =P I have my CPL though, so it really doesn't matter how I carry in the great state of Michigan. I like OWB holsters a lot though! They're very comfortable. Very true though, I'm begin into emergency preparedness...hence why I keep buying radios that are built like tanks!
F[L] The button below the xmit button Dial that to Lvl 1 or higher using the lower knob Press xmit to save Try scanning again, it should work. It'll stop whenever it senses a signal.

Mine's actually still caked in mud from some..uh.."serious skywarn activity". Needless to say, it was a little muddy outside that night.
Passed my tech exam on 3/21. =)
@trondklock
There's a pitch adjust?
I'm still trying to figure this beast out!
You have to have the squelch turned on, at least Lvl 1.

Make a video? I'm not too sure what might be wrong...
If all else fails, consult your manual.
