Great to see someone practically watching this series. That motivates for more episodes...
Thank you for the big big honor of being in your video! Also great video for motivating people to take the first steps of learning geometry nodes.

I'm a native English speaker watching your "Every node..." vid and your accent is _fine_ . Anecdotally (so, unscientifically) I think interesting differences can help people latch on to _active_ listening anyway; after the intro I forgot I was supposed to be noticing: I just naturally engaged with your _content_ and that's a win in my book.

In my experience, click by click tutorials are the best because they lower the bar for getting started, and getting started is the most important step. Your brain will almost unconsciously connect the dots by doing the action, so don't obsess about understanding every single step of the process.

I started learning GeoNodes back in 3.0.
After 6 months, I had a 5000+ node group that generated a fully procedural humanoid model from scratch. ^_^
    It's insanely powerful.
Everything that exists can be represent in just a handful of node groups. (Technically, a single node group could be able to turn into anything that exists... and a ton of stuff that doesn't)

Can you recommend any course or yt channels you learned from. I started learning in January and only understand basic nodes right now(like i still dont understand how position node and all the other pink nodes work) . I want to speed up the process of learning so anything will be helpful.

if you follow tutorials long enough you just rembember how to do certain things almost without thinking
like slapping on color ramp whenever you want to controll some properties of whatever in shading
or you just can recreate part of tutorial 1:1 from memory and then combine it with something else or even do a complete experiment around it to create something
also with enough tutorials if you forget something you remember where to find an answer

  • @lucasblaise

Hi! Your video encouraged me to try GN, but I have to know before spending time: these procedural meshes can be baked into a final mesh? I ask cause I create video games and I want to know if I can keep these shapes in the game engine when exporting them. Also, can geometry nodes or nodes, in general, be saved as objects in the Asset Browser?

I have tried following Ducky 3D tutorials & I find that my PC crashes whenever I get to the part where I have to implement the bump node... I probably have 10 abandoned projects that I stopped when I heard the word bump. The last Bane of my geometry node journey was the noise texture node.
Sadly I cannot upgrade my Mac PC (I use a macOS High Sierra version 10.13.6) specs cause I bought it at an auction with my savings hoping it'd be sufficient for the projects I want to do.
It'd be nice to find a tutorial focused on helping people with low end spec PCs

    • @axeslinger94
      @axeslinger94 Рік тому

If you have a lower end PC you're working with, you've gotta keep in mind to lower some of the settings for what works for you. It's what I have to do, and I did end up buying a new RAM part to help me with this and with better gaming in general, but it was a $50 part after tax, not a $1k+ RTX like what a lot of Blendertubers have. Balance internal geometry vertices with external/visual surface smoothness (fluidity of motion for animations) and you will be able to better recreate what they make or you can crank it up high and make peace with the render times and rendering in batches then stitching it together in other editing programs.
I honestly recreate a lot of these tutorials with the settings as low as possible while still keeping the lowest quality integrity threshold because I know I'm just doing this as a hobby for now, and I'm not willing to wait that long and go through repeated crashes so just adjust to what works for you! Also, try rendering while you're sleeping for the night to avoid boredom and tying up your system with active waiting. That's helped me a lot, too, and it's a tie-over from waiting on big game installs to finish on Steam over the years haha

Not putting every mouse click and then the page is suddenly different from what you are looking at is beyond frustrating. It’s not learning….it’s just a lesson in patience, and that’s not what I use tutorials for. The tuts are for reference and if the reference isn’t there, it’s a waste of time.
