I did this base, it’s amazing for vanilla rust and kinda cheap to maintain with a team, I added a few shotgun traps, to make it harder to offline raid and give me time to log because I have the server connected to Rust+, added a few sensors around the base to know which side they are, and made external Traps connected to those sensors, when they detect a player, the doors open and auto turrets start to shoot everyone around, it’s a good addition, and if you start to get a bunch of loot, I added an second external wall with more of those bunker rooms turned into towers, and slapped Sam sites in the very top to help kill minis, it’s amazing for trios for entire wipes
@@big_boy_harv cannot give you precise upkeep because I play on 5X or 10X server (and pay attention to that detail) for trio it’s not that hard to upkeep, I tend to make everything HQM and Frags

@@big_boy_harv all edits on base were made based on X10 servers gameplay, that’s why I added extra protection for offline raids, I tried sometimes in vanilla rust but you need good active team and to farm boom as fast as possible to raid big bases to get resources as fast as possible, and if you can controle excavator its even better to get all resources for entire week of wipe, and you just need couple of hours
Will be using this on console I’ll be back with results also thanks for this style of video everyone assumes you’re a pro builder and just insta build a whole base with no explanation I appreciate the step by step and explanation it’s really entertaining and informative
I already commented on this base. But, after building it and altering it a little bit to my likings I genuinely think it's your best work yet. It's kind of everything you look for in a Rust base. The layout of it is so simple and effective. One thing that is severly underrated is "how effective is the starter unit?" and for it to be a 2x2 that's perfect. There a couple things I changed: I personally believe roof bunkers are completely useless, unless you put it in a very clunky build like your "Mirage" (not saying that base is bad by any means it's just different / clunky to your normal Rust base imo). So, what I did was put an oil refinery as the jump up / or if it fits which is even better under the jump up. When raiders see you have a roof bunker they will just ignore it and go through the armor wall where the TC is anyways. It might add 2 additional rockets to raid cost but I think having an oil refinery in your core is just so convenient the entire wipe and is more than worth the trade off. The compound / gate houses: The compound is a bit too much work for me lol. I don't really care that much about external bunkers / gate house bunkers. I straight up think placing boxes in your external TCs is more than enough. I have been offline raided more times than I can count and the external TCs have NEVER been hit. What I did was actually use the exact same gatehouse you used in your "2x2 expansion" base design from like a month ago. I think those are the best gatehouses I used to this day. I killed so many people running by through those little peaks. I wish you included those in more of your builds. So - SO EFFECTIVE. However, I hated how the compound was sectioned off so to avoid that I just did some buildouts to fix that to push the triangles off the base. I also changed around the inside honey-comb loot rooms and stuff to my likings. Awesome base dude. I give it a 9 / 10 if that means anything lol EDIT: I ALMOST FORGOT.. You don't need to wait till after you build the shooting floor to add those pixel peaks. I used the shipping container skin and I could still place the pixel peak even when there was a roof there. Just word to the wise
that bunker comment is so stupid. "they will just ignore it and go through walls" what the heck do you think bunkers are for bro? this applies to basically every TC bunker. the point is to make them spend more rockets by going through walls. considering this base has a vending machine loot room, protecting TC is even more important lol The bunker stuff is pretty true, if you have multiple externals they prob wont be getting hit.
@@rancor4513 in the footprint of a 2x2 roof bunkers DO NOT work. I have been building bases myself for years now. You can actually splash the roof bunker from the inside and outside the base rendering it completely useless if you are precise enough. All of the good bunkers got patched. One scenario the roof bunker can work is if you place in the opposite corner square of the TC in a 2x2 footprint but that comes with trade offs of you losing a lot of storage and mobility. Also that high foundation comes with its own weakness from the outside. That is the cheapest path to raid from because of that high foundation. I’ve tested it so many times now. Like I said, roof bunkers are only good if you don’t plan on expanding the base ever. If you just want some chad 2x2 then it makes sense. Not a full fledged base.
@@ItsAlpa 0 logic... u splash it through the walls, spesificlly the one on the 2x2 right side, if you;re already blowing through that wall then the bunker wont matter in the firstplace, if you;re going through the roof then it wont splash, this is just dumb comment. The walls, half walls, raised foundation or whatever you use for the bunker has to be the same tier as the bunker seal, thats common knowledge if you're a builder
@@rancor4513 I'll try to explain this to you like you're a complete noob because you must be -If raiders take the back wall where the bunker side is they can potentially save 8 rockets. If you hit the corner of the honeycomb correctly it can destroy the sheet metal AND do half the damage to the raised triangle foundation. Once you destroy that foundation it opens the bunker and leaves you with 3 garage doors to TC. If you don't believe me go test it on a build server. -If raiders breach the second floor and are left with the bunker they will just blow either through the ceiling or through the TC wall where the bunker is half covering. Most of the time they will blow the ceiling because I'm not sure if you know this or not but rockets have splash damage. They can damage things around where they hit. If they already used 16ish rockets to get into your second floor nothing is holding them back from using 16 more to get all of your core loot. -I'll break down the math for you here as well. Say theoretically you have an armored door as the bunker entranance. Raiders 5 rocket the armored the door. What gets splashed as well? The FLOOR. "Oh there is a bunker??" "let's just splash the rest of the floor!" | Say they come from the high foundation side. They splash through one layer of honeycomb (-7 / 8 rockets) if the raiders are knowledgable they can see the high foundation through the wall they will splash that as well. So they break 2 layers of honeycomb and half a layer of armored (-15 / 16 rockets at this point). "oh it's a bunker" the raiders say. "Let's just splash the rest of this foundation to break it" (-24 rockets and you're in the core + splash damage opens up the second floor as well). You just lost all of your loot because the raiders were smart around 35 rockets and your loot is gone. -So your counter-argument is that "well if they go through walls then it's useless anyways" correct, but my point is WHAT'S THE POINT IN A 2X2 BUNKER? The only useful bunker in a 2x2 was the offset bunker but that is now patched. Bunkers are not good now. -Theoretically if there was NO BUNKER. You have armored door + 3 garage doors to TC. That is 14 rockets. You have to tell me that having a weakness high foundation side and a big giant square in the middle of your 2x2 is worth it for TWO ROCKETS? Let me say this again so you can comprehend. A roof bunker SAVES ((((((TWO))))))) ROCKETS. I would MUCH RATHER have an oil refinery sitting in my core than a two rocket bunker. If they got that far nothing is deterring them from using TWO more rockets to get your TC. It's not "0 logic" I have been building for a very long time and tested every variation of bunkers since the GOOD offset bunkers were patched out. I tested this in build servers for hours. There are uses for roof bunkers. Just not in a 2x2 footprint. It does not work. Once again.. I TESTED THEM in every footprint imagineable for a 2x2.
Using this in current wipe, love it, and have some feedback to share; 1: Main concern is only half the compound has turret coverage. I understand that farm turrets will cover main door if farm door is splashed (or opened by smart system), but if the farm door remains closed a raider can actually go to core from ground floor through gate house doors without dealing with a turret (top down raid path seems like a nightmare
Awesome comment. Can you expand on point #6 though? What do you mean by "sockets", what is the purpose of the flashers? Ps: ignore these other comments above. This is an incredibly insightful comment on the pros/cons of the base. I'm currently playing it and feeling the pain of #6 so I'm hoping you can help explain how you mitigated it!
@@eg8568 Thanks, sure! Any piece of electric component placed precisely on the building socket will block the ability to build from it. By "socket" I mean anywhere a floor piece can be built. The component does not lose any durability when removed with hammer so just take your time and ensure to check each one with a building plan before moving on. I personally use the flasher lights, but you could use another piece (just make sure a grub can't stand on it). However as you will quickly realize due to the farm roofs you will need to place it on a ton of sockets which makes this very expensive with 100 metal frags per flasher. Without them an experienced grub will quite easily be able to drain compound, roof and third floor inside turrets, so this design is not very grub-proof which is one of the major downsides to it.
I cant even lie, i usually build large circle bases but this right here, thats gotta be the most cozy base ive ever seen and thats definitely going to be the first design base im building in a long time, keep it going man!
I have a problem with the bedroom 4:14 , this base is amazing, but if someone were to get dropped by a heli on your roof, he can shoot a incindiary rocket into the peek and not only destroy the turrets, but also the beds since you cannot wall the roofs going up, I also highly recommend you use the square frames (mentioned at 17:00 )on the side of the peaks as the raiders wont be able to blow out the embrasure and get in that way. Other than that this base has taught me a lot of new things and ways to build and i will definitly be using parts of this base myself. Greatly put together video, will be watching some more and maybe get the patreon aswell.
The way i changed it is by putting Ramps on the 2x2 top part, with the higher side going towards the low walls, this way you can still shoot out but getting a incindiary rockets to go inside is way harder.
The external bunkers are super cool, i’ve never seen those in my 1.5k hours of rust and 500 hours of searching for building ideas! Truly a wonderful base and an awesome template for me to improve to my liking!❤
Love this base. I typically go mostly stone on the build keeping the floors and ceiling metal and having the tc/ bunker hqm. It runs roughly 20000 stone on the upkeep but easy to keep going. I also resorted to duplicating the turret rooms on the outside and making them gate houses opposed to the bunker gate houses.
i have used this base for two wipes and have some feedback. The peeks are great and the base is very strong the only problem is people can sometimes reach your body through peeks and it is very easy to get on your roof
FYI when you place the roof at 12:11, after you upgrade to stone it blocks the jump up. It might be that the adobe skin isn't blocked, but the default stone definitely is. This will ruin the entire base design if the destroy timer passes before you notice. You need to upgrade to wood only if you don't have adobe skin.
Had to raid the same group 3 times in this thing, loaded but a pain in the ass, mainly cause that shell and we spent hella on the external bunkers and vendy
It has nothing to do with that with why you're rated instantly you raided constantly because that's the game lol there's no base design that's raid proof most boil down to just pummel thru two to three walls
@@milancerpwns9358 He's got patreon bases with 12-15 bunker capability. It most certainly is not just because it's "the game". People recognize the base config and know exactly where to raid it. All the public bases are useless when someone can just find them on youtube.

I just subbed to you, i didnt have the chance to build one of your bases yet, but your bases are really well thought through and you post many new ones so keep going man you are doing a great job!
I love ur base designs as a duo/trio i need a cheap and easily built base that is built in layers my personal fav is the pixel i have it etched into my mind thx for the amazing base designs
I love when bases are built smart and not just super big, a big base is easy to tell where loot is, i got confused of where i was just watching the video 💀 love it tho
I love it! The work is brilliant, I would've bought it but we're 6-8 man we want something bigger close to this one maybe with some cheap wide gaps! Are you gonna upload something like that anytime soon ?
Hi man, i really love your videos, all these nice genius bases are so cool and awesome but sometimes i struggle with the upkeep. Could you maybe make a small base next time with a shooting floor and a open core? I would really appreciate that. Keep going i love your videos!!!
Hi, sorry for asking but what sheet metal door is it? 16:48? Neon with fire 🥰 Also at the beginning of the video there are vines all over the building, what are these? Please 🥲
Thank you for asking I checked every rust door skin on the community market and it's not for sale. I was thinking maybe twitch drop but sounds like he just uses a pluggin to have custom skins. That's probably how he had vines too just a custom rug skin.
I have to ask.. is the roof bunker really all that useful in a 2x2? The splash damage from the rockets will damage everything enough to where the raider will probably just ignore the bunker and figure to just destroy everything around it. It’s good early game but that’s about it. In my opinion a better option for 2x2s is using an oil refinery under the jump up. At the end of the day when you fully build your base a bunker would render pretty useless and if anything makes your base weaker from the foundation direction if the raiders were to pummel from that side.
Built it twice stress test once on RUST CE bout 30 somin rockets to core with the upgrades provided in the video I would upgrade the corner shel walls and honeycomb to hiqual asap good weekly design . Enjoy ya wipe!
We raided this base a few weeks ago, the turret angles inside the shell are really good. Tip for anyone running this base, we knew there were bunkers somewhere because we didn't find any boom when we hit all the obvious rooms. If we had found a few rockets in one of the shop loot rooms we wouldn't have gone looking for the gatehouse bunkers.
How could you take this concept and apply it to a 2-3x server where they are coming at you with more boom, but you have more resources to build your base base a bit thicker and upkeep isn't as bad?
Cool base dude! I will practice it today in creative servers and rewind your video like 300 times to get it right :P P.S could you make a triangle foot print base too?
This was badass man. Appreciate it. I’ve been wanting to experiment with those auto turret pods but all the videos seem so complicated. This I can just copy and get it done. GGs

I also resorted to duplicating the turret rooms on the outside and making them gate houses opposed to the bunker gate houses.
Favorite yt build 2x2 so far
i have used this base for two wipes and have some feedback. The peeks are great and the base is very strong the only problem is people can sometimes reach your body through peeks and it is very easy to get on your roof
My personal favorite base, been practicing it for quite a few hours for wipe day this Thursday. Great base
best 2x2 by far, bunker is so easy too
One of the most complete bases I've ever seen and you explain it nicely, nice work
one of the best builders ive come across, keep including these farms!!
this is a masterpiece, respect to you man thank you 🙏
That seems to be preatty solid, i'll try it for sure. Nice build dude!
Amazing love the base and love the farm even more hope you continue to put mini-farms in your bases
What about metal?
I have not much skills but when I see your bases i just want to try to build them. Also ur Eminem while teaching how to build. The best bases!
If I still played Rust, I would absolutely build this, looks amazing!
Had to raid the same group 3 times in this thing, loaded but a pain in the ass, mainly cause that shell and we spent hella on the external bunkers and vendy
Эта база лучше чем последние несколько на бусти. Построил - кайф!
This should have been a patreon base! Every public base is so popular they are raided instantly. Your success is killing me 🤣
Are the patreon bases good? DO they still work with the pixel gap and bunker fixes and are there some decent smaller solo bases there?
@@onwardtotheedge i have 1 friend that pay his patreon and i confirm his bases are pretty good in patreon
Rust Base UA-camrs our kind of an Occam's razor. You want a good base but you also don't want them to have a lot of views cuz then it doesn't matter how good it is
Absolutely insane base. My one bit of feedback would be to try and explain things in stages to simulate a progression of a wipe
Awesome build mate
You made it easy to understand that you got that vibe saying “is this not EASY FOR YOU TO UNDERSTAND?!”
This base is insane
DAMN! WHAT A BASE! thank you
I duo on 10x when the weekends hit, i've just spent the last 2 hours learning the design hahaha, i dare a 10 man too come try us this weekend! keep up the hard work brother you'll be where you want too be very soon
The foundation inside a triangle frame idea is crazy! Keep it up man love your bases
Love this base can you do a separate video to show us how to have a detachable TC potentially with a bunker as well.
I usually hate building 2x2's, but since you built it, ill build it.
Thanks for the base design. Finally, a good and cheap base design for solos
happy to see a great base after a really long time 👏🏼👏🏼. Nowadays all bases are too expensive even if they are for duo they are not affordable, too compex building mechanics etc.. and the protection is not great, but this is one of the greatest i have seen in 2024
First time running this on PvP server.
Can confirm super easy to defend this base ESPECIALLY if they come to the roof
Looks epic but I’m not sure how to do the electric stuff for the turrets
great base, never a fan of the 2x2 but now I will give it a shot
wait a min this base is actually crazy
Omg man you have a unique style love it !
Solid build! Thanks for sharing gamer 😎👍
such an amazing and innovative single tc base
came here from the short, nice marketing skills bruv
"so that I could COMFORTABLY roof camp" ...wonderful
lol
best of singleTC base!cool!
Thx u bro 😎
Thank you for this video. Keep going man 💪🏾
bought ur patreon and can honestly say there are very good bases ive even been looking for bases with some of the peaks you used so im very satisfied
It's been 2+ weeks since a Hidden Joint upload. I think I'm going crazy I need a new base to try out!
MY NEW FAVOURITE BASE
I just subbed to you, i didnt have the chance to build one of your bases yet, but your bases are really well thought through and you post many new ones so keep going man you are doing a great job!
Very good one! i‘m actually building it in Wipe this Weekend. Love it already buddy❤️
I love ur base designs as a duo/trio i need a cheap and easily built base that is built in layers my personal fav is the pixel i have it etched into my mind thx for the amazing base designs
Great base keep it up
Underrated bro! This is amazing~
Love the build and have been tryna build it but I get offlined constantly 😂
very good base👍
Thx u
I loved this base so much made me drop liquids
Tip if you build not that close to a river or just don’t want to do planter boxes I put up auto turrets
I wonder who you got the compound bunker idea from :)
😮
brooo
time code 18:51
Did not watch that far sorry my friend @@HiddenJoint
Np man
I built this base for my last 3 wipes and we won the defense as a duo against 4-6 man teams.
Please 🥲
custom skin
Thank you for asking I checked every rust door skin on the community market and it's not for sale. I was thinking maybe twitch drop but sounds like he just uses a pluggin to have custom skins. That's probably how he had vines too just a custom rug skin.
Straight up master piece
I have to ask.. is the roof bunker really all that useful in a 2x2? The splash damage from the rockets will damage everything enough to where the raider will probably just ignore the bunker and figure to just destroy everything around it. It’s good early game but that’s about it. In my opinion a better option for 2x2s is using an oil refinery under the jump up. At the end of the day when you fully build your base a bunker would render pretty useless and if anything makes your base weaker from the foundation direction if the raiders were to pummel from that side.
Tnx bro I love this base!
It’s top
My brotha cooked so hard again 🙏😭😭
cant wait to see this base on official this wipe and know where to raid it
Built it twice stress test once on RUST CE bout 30 somin rockets to core with the upgrades provided in the video I would upgrade the corner shel walls and honeycomb to hiqual asap good weekly design .
How could you take this concept and apply it to a 2-3x server where they are coming at you with more boom, but you have more resources to build your base base a bit thicker and upkeep isn't as bad?
best base builder
For how many ppl is this recommended for?
Cool base dude! I will practice it today in creative servers and rewind your video like 300 times to get it right :P
P.S could you make a triangle foot print base too?
How you grow stuff there? Water placment? Placement lightning?
one tip when turrrets are behind chainlink if you look at the bottom of the chain link you can still filll the turrets in the newest update 05/06/2024
I'ma be building this later thank you sir 😂
i love the base and its amazing tysm
great base bro
The gatehouse bunker does not work anymore, correct? Other than that, what a kickass base, been loving your builds lately!
Amazing built
i am also currently playtesting this base
This was badass man. Appreciate it. I’ve been wanting to experiment with those auto turret pods but all the videos seem so complicated. This I can just copy and get it done. GGs
I love when people build youtube base bc I know here tc is tysm for making this video I'm about to raid the ppl that killing serv😂
Does the double chainlink fence still work on turrets?
