I put on of these to gather for a Kid in the early 90s. It never broke and his mom took it from him and gave it to me. I still have it today and runs great.
Boy, that's a fun car to have! I had one back in the late 80s and used to race it at the local track with the rc10 gold pants and did very well with it! Now seeing this video, now I have to order a new one, thank! :-)
Yet ANOTHER great running video Matteo!!! 👍👍😎👏👏👏👏👏 Those, IMHO, are the BEST Buggies that Tamiya ever made. My friend still goes NUTZ every time he sees one running! We both had the original..... BOTH regret selling them!! 😢😢😕 Carmine(you remember him?) said that if he EVER finally gets his inheritance - that's the FIRST thing he's buying! I believe him....... if he lives that long. 😕 I hope it does! He's also planning on doing something nice for EVERYONE who was nice enough to help them, up until March, when it just stopped..... Anyway, another fine video. Something I've come to expect from you! Murph
hi Matteo, that wee wild one looks fantastic scooting over the sand with all it's bumps and troughs (dips) lol. it's like a wild thing, bouncing wildly over the wild terrain. lol. great video. 😀 👍 👍 👍 👍
Fantastic video! You truly make the best RC movies! I am wondering if you would ever do a video on the grasshopper, frog, or clodbuster? Keep up the great work and thank you!
60 fps of pure slo-mo beauty. Just brilliant! I wish I could film my new Wild One like this. Thank you! Matteo. Tell me a little more about the setup in this particular video. Example, the weight of battery pack you're using, and did you fill the front shocks with oil? I'd love to know more about these details. Your videos are more than art, they are a study in physics and miniature automotive. I find that if front shocks are not filled at all but simply lubricated a little, or filled with very light oil, they resond better to soft sand like the dunes in your video. Only reason to fill the front shocks with regular oil is when you need proper damping when landing bigger jumps on harder surface. Otherwise the front suspension will be too stiff. For my rear shocks I need to get some softer springs. The originals are much too stiff for the buggy weight. I'm using Overlander's 3300mah 6s sticks (330 g).
Thanks Tomas! Yes, the front shocks are too stiff, you can see it also in the video. I have still the oil in it from the build. I've only removed the red rings to make the spring a bit softer. I used Li-Ion battery, it's only 215g. This battery fits well in the limited battery tray from the vintage chassis cars. enerprof.de/shop/akkus/li-ion-zellen/enerpower-akku-racing-pack-mit-tamiya-stecker-72v-li-ion-5200-mah/?lang=de But for me, the rear shocks works better than in front.
Aha, I see. Try to remove the oil completely from the front shocks, and only put a few drops in, for lubrication. They will become much more responsive, you will see.
Wild and great again, Matteo... :-) Love the scraping sand by the heavy rear tube frame! ;-) I've idea, what about to try to film the buggy in real speed by very long GoPro holder and leave it with original sound! Just short shots. Can you imagine it? Just straight or gently radial ride and see the suspension work in real time... You have the equipment for that. Like in original Tamiya promovideos... Just inspiration... Maybe would be nice to have something new in Your production. For many Tamiya lovers is the original real speed sound something very wanted. ;-)
Thanks Filip! I appreciate your thoughts and tips! But in fact for me videos in real time and original sound looks so poor. I know they are many who like to see and hear it in real, but I think they are many videos on youtube to see this. And the problem is the sound quality of my GoPro 4 is unusable 🙄 So I think this will be not my thing, but thanks for your idea, it's good to hear your thoughts and please do not stop your advices! 👍😊
Matteo. I made a movie yesterday of my Wild One. I used other rear dampers, and I emptied the front shocks leaving just enough oil for qick spring response. Please have a look and tell me what you think.
Hello there. Nice video by the way. I have a question? Is it okay to use Tamiya's original 540 engine and esc in a crawler? I have bought a mst cmx kit on ebay. I have not received it yet, but it should be here around July 25th. Love your videos. Greetings from Trond. norway
Thanks! Yes, you can use the Tamiya 540 motor, not the best but it will work good enough. But I recommend another esc. In a crawler you should use one with a drag brake to hold it on a steep hill. Tamiya stock esc does not have this function. This for example: HobbyWing Electronic Wing 30112750 Quicrun Wp1080 Waterproof Rock Crawler Brushed ESC Speed Control tamico.de/Hobbywing-QuicRun-Crawler-Regler-WP-1080-80A
Thanks matteo. you always answer people. I have many tamiya esc and 540 motor`s lying around from other kits, so therefore I wondered. This is my first crawler. I have the tamiya cc01 pajero, and it is not a crawler in my opinion. but i want to have the pajero stock. Have a nice day.. regards from Trond.
Yes the shocks are stock...😃 The battery tray is very small, build for NiCd or NiMh batteries. Now I found Li-Ion batteries who fits very good. enerprof.de/shop/akkus/li-ion-zellen/enerpower-akku-racing-pack-mit-tamiya-stecker-72v-li-ion-5200-mah/?lang=de
Matteo's RC Movies thanks matteo , i have 2 turnigy hardcase that are shaped like that and fit many tamiya but not all ( slightly longer and not curved enuf ) ill order the ones u linked to . thank you
Danke Sascha.
I put on of these to gather for a Kid in the early 90s. It never broke and his mom took it from him and gave it to me. I still have it today and runs great.
That's great! Thanks for your feedback! 👍👍😊

Nice work. Great to have all the onboard shots. Are you using a GoPro or something smaller ?
Ive always wanted to know how everyone does it too lol
Thank you! Yes, I've used a GoPro, works fine for this!
You make me want to get my fox or hornet out and play in the sand!!! I can only imagine how dirty the chassis was after your video!
The dirt was not so bad, cause the sand was very dry! And the fun is first! 😀
Thumb up!
Danke Fabian! Das du mal kein Original davon besitzt erstaunt mich! 😀
Top Video, Matteo! Der Wild One sieht super aus. 👌
Vielen Dank!
Wild video - bravo!
Thanks!
Another cool video from matteo :)
Thank you Gilbert! 😃

Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for your feedback Jose! 👍😊
Just curious. How much time do you have in making this video ? Great video really enjoyed watching this !
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it! First 5 hours of filming outside and then about 12 hours of selection preparing and editing of the movie. 😊😊

Thanks Tomas! Good movie with excellent working suspension! 👍👍
Thank you Matteo. My aim was to tune a suspension for this car "Wild One" to appear as realistic as possible.
another nice video and nice car.😉
Thanks! 😊
Love those oval-block rooster tails! Wild One vs. Fox race... Who would win?
This would be a close race.... Thanks for your feedback! 👍😊

Thanks! 👍
super Video !
Thank you Jack!
What a awesome dune buggy got to love Tamiya!! Great video too this rig seems nimble or was it the sand? Thanx for your time.✌
Thanks for your nice feedback! No, the sand slow down the car! 😊
I really need to finish off my Wild One so I can run it, mostly just needs the decals applied, and gold fox wheels one the way for it.
Yes, sure it looks great with the gold wheels! Have fun! 👍👍😊😊

Tolles Video.

Very nice ;-)
Thank you! 😊
Almost like a old style Tamiya Promo Video.

Danke Herr Komissar! 😊
it's the best! cool!
Thanks! 😊
Dank dir O, ja würde sicher Spass machen! 👍
Do the front shocks move?
Not so much... They are too stiff, needs some modifications.
raaaa einfach geile deine vdo's !!
Danke! Freut mich! 😊👍

Don't buy their products.
awesome video !
