The judge is so rude af for what? For the culture and the style of the lion dance,what di they expect the lion dance to do a break dancing? The performance is incredibly awesome!! Can't they even see or at least know the lion dance is actually hard to do because of the training and the head also not that easy to hold it's really heavy

Bro, americans judging the culture of what they are suppose to do. They cannot just judge a culture and making it change NO. They are lucky they got this performance. Most of these performance seen in Malaysia is often but they have 2-3 lions most likely. They're lucky they ain't the culture and get to see 7 lions at once. Especially the first judge, he is not respecting the culture. He said it as if he owned the culture. UNGRATEFUL
3 things: 1. They have too many lions on stage, which reduce the uniqueness of the lion dance. They should reduce it to 2 lions only. The 2 lions interacting with each other in different ways would be way more interacting and something American audience can get into. 2. The music should be traditional music as well. 3. The first judges have no historical context. This is the wrong show to be on. The group could have done some martial art group exercise then as they progress, keep the lion as their last act, their ace card. Even the Chinese audience in China would be bored of the same lion dances are being done over and over, with increasing difficulty / dangerous level. This is the effect of having too much of the good thing that it no longer special.
I think for a show like AGT, you would need to start by teaching the audience the cultural/ historical context of what they're doing, make it interactive and funny educating and then showing the performance with a few lions at a time. There's too much going on all over the place with all those lions, I think the audience looses focus. It looked like they were all just jumping around with no particular "plot", story line, or purpose. Also, terrible choice in music... needs to be more traditional. I honestly thought I was watching down time during the performance but maybe it's just bc of the camera work? It reminded me if telecallcenters when the cameras pan out with no particular focus and showing all the callers on the line before they actually bring up a person for on the air interview or to share their progress with gaining financial support.

They are more than 1000+ diffrent performance formats. These are SPECIAL performance and the real culture people who seen it have seen 2-3 lions only. This performance have 7 lions. Atleast appreciate their performance.

They changed the music to modernize it for the people who don't understand tradition but I like the traditional way

Lion Dance Me hosts a club at my school and I have friends in it. The work they do is amazing
aviici's levels was perfect for this audition. Loved the end where all the lion heads snapped toward the judges. Such a unique audition.
I like the performance but I would have been really excited if they added traditional music and an actual jong routine
