    That tension trick is as true as true gets I’ve had countless fish where I see the hook in one side of the mouth and while fighting it for a split second I feel like the hook move and then the fish is hooked in a completely different part of the mouth, hold that rod on the opposite angle and you’ll lose way less fish

    I like fishing the Christmas run on the Wilson river. Monster Kings in the 40-60lb range. One day we hit a school at the yellow house and not one fish under 40# was pulled from that hole. This was early 2000s haven’t fished it in 15+ years but was always a good late season king fishery

    Dammit Dave....looks like a helluva good time. Told ya I was cursed when it comes to Chinook, man. Though fishing with ya this year was awesome, BEAUTIFUL day and GREAT company. That little jack ate awesome, so...win (and about perfect size for a single guy, even if Brian caught it).
    Good on you and Popov gettin that boy his first 'Nooky! The excitement was contagious and left me grinning! When my boy gets back from Korea, need to get out with ya. Like you to meet him.
    (Eric, btw)

    Put a 10 foot mono backing on all braided spools. It keeps it from spinning around the spool.

    • @nintendude1988
      @nintendude1988 4 роки тому

      Surprised they didn't. Every reel I have is backed by about 10 yards of mono. Ghost drag isn't a good thing

      T Coastal a little surprising considering how much they fish. Maybe someone else spooled them up.

    Don't tell Dave Turin, but I swear I saw some gold at the bottom of that ledge..... Memories of his son catching that fish worth all the gold in the world!

    The show cane on and I had to do a double take. Am I watching Dave hit gold or Angler West. Who cares! Double the pleasure.
    Nice job on that fish dude! Yours was so big it took all four people to get it in the boat. That was a beast!

    Put a wrap of electrical tape on your spool before you spool it with the brade and it will keep your line from slipping on your spool.

  • @chrisclearman5244
    @chrisclearman5244 3 роки тому

    How did you rig up the camera to your line? I purchased a camera, but didn't try it cus of the low clear conditions. Didn't want to spook the fish. Love your show btw...

    Anglers West. Love your videos always have. I'm super surprised you guys have dozer Dave on the program. He is one of the causes from Alaska and Oregon that screws up our creeks and spawning grounds with their slush boxes and their gold digging. Always tearing up the Earth that did sucks and everything he stands for. But we love Big Dave.

    That underwater footage is great... and depressing. Shows how few fish are interested, and how basically have to float it into the mouth of those that are.

    • @jimsomerville3924
      @jimsomerville3924 4 роки тому

      Also, that fluorocarbon seems pretty visible underwater, to the camera anyways.

    • @chrisclearman5244
      @chrisclearman5244 3 роки тому

      Are you suggesting they're float flossing? Those fish bit. Get over it.

    • @jimsomerville3924

      @@chrisclearman5244 No, I'm not suggesting that.

    • @nintendude1988
      @nintendude1988 3 роки тому

      You're a little defensive. You must floss yourself? 😂
