Eos R still perform very good for photos and regular videos with awesome glass like RF 50 1.2, 24-70.
Indeed it does.

Hi Daniel, thanks for this, I downloaded your sample 4K and 8K footage and I was surprised that some footage are H264 files, are they straight out of camera files? Your sample 8K footage has huge files size but easily playable on my iMac, thanks for the samples.

Canon R5 images and video are great but unfortunately for the overwhelming heating issues.
Yes. Since I just need 4K25 or sometimes 4K120 I don‘t get in touch with the overheating issue that often, but it sucks. Hoping for a firmware-update, which hopefully will solve this issue. Daniel

Great review, man, but I was wondering, have you had any experiences with the eos R overheating in either 1080p or 4K 25fps? And is there a 30 minute time limit for continuous filming as with many other canon cameras?

No overheating issues with the EOS R at all.
Neither in 4ak nor in 1080p.
On both cameras 29m59s.

the daniel life Sweet! So i assume you don’t have to wait for the camera to cool down at all once you hit the 30 minute limit, right? You just hit record again and you’re good to go for another 30 min?
If you take 4K30 footage with either camera, none of them has any cool down time. Daniel
need your advice in buying cameras we were looking to upgrade from mid range camera to full frame with in the budget for studio, wedding and other short videos... even though we use shoot both photos and video mostly , a little higher preference for quality photos. one of our senior suggested us to go for mirrorless in canon or sony both for video and photo shoot.. when i compared the difference inbetween 5D mark -iv, eos R and eos R5... mainly i observed that the number of focus points varies from camera to camera... where eos R have 5655 focus points 5D mark -vi have 61 focus points and eos R5 have 1053 focus points I dont know how far having more focus points plays key role irrespective of having 15 mega pixel lesser than eos R5 After watching your video is it right to got for eos R rather than going to eos R6 or eos R6 or need to look at Sony a7R IV pls give us your valuable opinion which can help us ...
I just got the eos R, because I want to own the rights to my own pictures. Besides, I got the eos r so I can splurge on the expensive lens. 😂🤣🤯😉🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲

It’s official. In 4K on the 1.8x crop Canon EOS R, the new 28-70mm F2.0 turns into a 50-126mm F3.6. Shooting with that combo is a $5300 privilege, with no wide angle to speak of.
I call for the Canon manager most culpable to resign.
The EOS R (R for Revolution, apparently) is Canon’s most exciting and relevant camera this decade, passions are running high. I understand why. This is the modern Canon system everyone wanted and waited 5 years for.
1.8x crop in 4K is literally a deal-breaker for me. Nobody wanted this. I don’t even think many inside Canon wanted it but through some kind of very high-up management decision in Japan we have ended up in this shambles yet again on an important new release for video. Canon appeals to both stills and video users in the marketing, they really emphasise video on it. There is a clear market for it. Why not buckle up and cater for it?
I can assure you - buying a full frame camera to shoot nearly 2x crop appeals to nobody. You can spend the same on a Nikon Z6 or Sony A7 III or wait to see what Panasonic will offer.
The EOS R comes with a plethora of other video-related problems. Pathetic 720p slow-mo which nobody can use professionally. It has horrendous rolling shutter problems and no IBIS. There are zero excuses at all for any of this in 2018, not least in their most important product in 10 years. So I repeat my call just so it’s absolutely crystal fucking clear - to whoever is responsible - R for RESIGN!
PLEASE do not reward Canon for insulting video users time and time and time again. Buy the Sony A7 III for the same money and get that full frame 4K look. It’s absolutely beautiful. Choose REAL in-body 5 axis image stabilisation and 1080/120fps slow-mo with crisp detail. Consider the Nikon Z6 with all of the aforementioned and more. If you can afford it, consider the Nikon Z7

Weil die längere Version immer zuerst kommt
Bei mir kommt es auf die Videolänge an.
Die Deutsche Version ist 1 Minute kürzer.
