Blobby was initialy created for a secret camera section. They'd get celebrities to go on a fake kids show to see how they'd handle the anarchy of Blobby. He was so popular that he stepped out of the fake show and became a star himself.
That explains the voice then.
He needs to come back. I was too young to appreciate the chaos of Blobby at the time, but I would love a bit of that now!
Whoever was in the suit deserves a raise
I'm pretty sure it was Joe Wilkinson. At one point Jimmy calls him Joe and there was a lot of Joe Wilkson in that performance.
@@prinskipperskipple2173 I just thought the very same thing. A lot of Joes mannerisms.
@@prinskipperskipple2173 It was Barry Killerby the same guy who played Mr blobby back in the 90's, you can google it.
Mr Blobby is a legend. I remember seeing him on Noel's House Party, which in itself was a pure awesome tv show where crazy stuff happend. Used to watch it as a kid, saturday night tv was the best back then. Blobby also had a song that hit the charts like a truck. Also 'blobstation' is a play on words for 'babestation' which is a late night lewd ladies with phones show.
I had the single as a kid and could probably still sing half the song from memory even though there was a good 20+ year gap between ever thinking about him. He was a legend. All the other kids stuff was so tame and tried to teach you things in a boring way but Blobby was just utter chaos and was so refreshing to just have FUN with no alternative motive to it.
You might not believe this but Mr Blobby had a Number 1 Hit in the UK. I still vividly remember the day when my parents bought me the Cassette Tape of it in WHSmith in Sunderland and how joyous I was about it 🤣
Your right! I believe it was a Christmas number one 😂
There was even a Mr Blobby theme park built at the peak of Blobbymania. It closed down forever after 6 months, but the ruins are still there.
@@t-man8948 Yes, 1993. I remember it. Note the absence of the word 'well' at the end of the previous sentence.
The best of it was that it was Number one Twice, Take that replaced it and then the week after it got back to number one for Christmas.
Mr Blobby was hilarious (and slightly terrifying). His chaotic antics were very entertaining especially how rough his interactions would get with guests and TV hosts. Pure stupid, silly fun.
My kids loved Mr.Blobby - he brought mayhem and chaos to everything .No matter how high opinionated celebrity's thought of themselves - Blobby brought them down to earth - usually by jumping on them !
That demonic screech of JAAACK is simultaneously one of the most horrifying and hilarious things I've ever seen, and this was the first time I'd ever seen/heard of Mr. Blobby 😅🤣
He was very popular in the UK, but nightmare fuel for some people.
I quite enjoyed YES CLAUDIA!
I once met a guy in the middle of the afternoon, who was wearing a full Mr Blobby costume. I was both 'on' and coming up on; all of the hallucinogens and all of the pills. I kept a 20ft perimeter from the Blobby, as I nervously edged my way around. At this point, the Blobby could see the panic and bewilderment in my face, as a slowly edged my way around, gripping the hand railing as I did so. Merely looking at Blobby and his psychedelic kaleidoscopic eyes made me feel 100x higher than I actually was. I turned to my friend and asked him if it was legal to be this high during the day? surely I was doing something wrong, by being this high? - As nobody should be 'this' high...
At this point a crowd of lesser-high people had assembled around the blobby, marvelling at his Blobbyness. But he remained fixated on the highest of them all laughing in delight at the madness he was causing as I stumbled, staring back bewildered awe. Face to face, with the personification of highness itself. Funny times.
I absolutely adored Mr Blobby as a kid in the 90s. Pure chaotic nonsense.
Jack Whitehall is a comedian and dabbles in to acting his last movie was Clifford the big red dog.
He’s had a few episodes where he’s been joined by his father who is also hilarious as they take a trip round Europe.
Mr blobby had a Christmas number one with Mr blobby
He's in Bad Education too
Travels with my Father is 5 seasons.
Season 1 South East Asia
Season 2 Europe
Season 3 American West
Season 4 Australia
Season 5 More of a one episode wrap up, they do a little around the UK though.
Also Bad Education is hilarious.
Mr Blobby was initially created as a parody of a kid's tv show. It was a hidden camera segment on the Saturday night entertainment show Noel's House party. Unsuspecting celebrity guests were conned into thinking it was a real kids tv show. But Blobby was so popular he stuck around for years after and even had a number one music record.
Jack Whitehall is a comedian and actor famous for stand up, panel shows and being the main character in a comedy show called bad education, class show.
Blobby is a legend he causes utter chaos where ever he goes he even had a number 1 single in the charts 🤣🤣
How bloody dare anyone say Mr Blobby is evil 🤣....What Mr Blobby is, is a reminder of how fun our Saturday nights were on our TV's once. Noel Edmunds was a talented celebrity/producer who knew a good family fun angle and what type of entertainment drew in the crowds. From " Swap-shop to Deal or No Deal " he gave us nice/funny family entertainment. he is sorely missed, as is Mr Blobby.
Easy he's not dead! Dangerously close to speaking in the past-tense there 😆
Mr Blobby and Dara O'Briain on screen together, like twins parted at birth.
I loved Mr Blobby because he brought anarchy and chaos where ever he went.
Plus his Christmas Single was a pure masterpiece.
You have to do this AGAIN with Queen Boomer!!! 😳🙈 🤣🤣
Give her this essential info before watching:
-Noel's House Party was a 90's children's TV show and
-Mr Blobby is a costume-character in the show: like a chaos-Teletubby from hell on mushrooms and with ADHDx1000
Noel's House Party was a family entertainment show, not kids show.
As a 90's kid I used to love MR Blobby then one day for a birthday party my Uncle was made to dress up as him, I had never been more terrified in my life than then, It was caught on a VCR xD
Jack Whitehall is a stand up comedian and actor from a very privileged family. Best nutshell summary I can give you.
I was about to tell him that he was a notorious hardman and gangster and you've ruined it.
😂 all the toughest men have a brother called Barnaby, I agree.
'He'd scare me more than the kids..' Lol!
Michael Parkinson was terrified of Rod Hull and Emu, just as funny.
My secret/guilty pleasure if you will is that I absolutely loved Mr Blobby and still do aged 30. When I was about 5 years old I had a 6 foot inflatable Blobby, looking back it makes for some incredible family home photos...
i loved Mr Blooby, he was total chaos and mayhem.
Mr Blobby become a staple of Saturday night TV with his chaotic antics.
This is brilliant, I'm sure there was a story of Mr blobby going to a children's birthday party and ended up smashing up the parents house and yeah he got a Christmas number one song somehow
Jack Whitehall is hilarious. You need to react to Jack Whitehall’s travels with my father series with the Queen. Absolutely hilarious travel show. Similar to idiot abroad. Jack puts his Dad in awkward situations and his Dad’s reactions are brilliant. Well worth a watch.
Jack Whitehall is funny, he did a tv series called Bad Education which was hilarious
Glad I'm not the only one that was terrified of Mr blobby as a kid... Pure nightmare fuel
Oh you were far from the only one, That thing is evil incarnate.
@KingBoomer just letting you know Mr. Blobby was a 90's comedy character, more known working on kids' tv and other popular shows since.
He's also best known for being hilariously clumsy!! 🤣🤣
Mr Blobby was great. It was even funnier knowing there was a proper trained actor in there just causing havoc. It could've just been stupid but the comedic timing was absolutely spot on.
It was not a trained Actor in the suit but an Ex Royal Marine SBS Sniper,i kid you not as i know the bloe.
@@bigmull unless his name is Barry Killerby, he's pulling your leg.
This clip always has me in tears. I remember him from Noel's House Party originally, but he always had this cult status since.
Mr Blobby was created by Noel Edmonds as part of his 'Noel's House Party' show on Saturday nights in the 90's to spoof and annoy celebrities working with him on a ficticious kids show! He proved so popular he appeared just about every week thereafter in the show causing chaos on set after the initial idea had run its course. He became part of 90's British culture and even had an awful no1 chart hit record! The voice used to be a bit deeper than here.
Jack Whitehall started in another hilarious comedy called Fresh Meat about university students
Mr Blobby was a kids' show character. He only seems to scare adults, lol! We have kids over here with pretty anarchic personalities. The more grotesque the character the better for them. Check out some of the Saturday evening family shows on British tv before everything got so damn p-c. Hysterical. (If Mr Blobby scares you, try Rod Hull and Emu.)
The pink windmill show😆😆
There's somebody at the door!
There's somebody at the door!
It's the TV aerial repair man
😆😆😆
The first episode of season 2 of Noel’s House party has the first ever appearance of Mr Blobby intended as a prank character for the Gotcha Segment.
What you didn’t see was during the end credits sequence of the show was Blobby started chasing Jack!
I remember watching mr blobby in the 90s me and my grandad loved it, one of my best shows though to watch with him was chuckle vision every day after school, its my best memory I have of him
Now you know of big fat quiz, cant recommend the best of Sean Lock on there more, that always guarantees to have me in tears
I loved Mr. Blobby growing up but as an adult I find it to be really creepy, it somehow got a no.1 single in the UK charts taking the Christmas No.1 spot from Meatloaf's I Would Do Anything For Love.
You should look it up, it's one of the most horrific things you'll ever see😂
It knocked Take That off number one. Meat Loaf had already had his time at the top by then.
Jack's the son of one of Britain's politicians, he started of doing stand up and moved over to movies. He's been in more moves then you'd think.
I love that someone 8 America has finally got to the BIG FAT QUIZ.. it was held once a year and absolutely 💯 funny.
He’s the son of an agent - explains a lot
National treasure, look at his beautiful eyes.
Jack Whitehall is also there.
Hard to describe Mr Blobby to Americans. He's a British cultural icon of the 90s.
Everyone knows of him, even if you didn't watch Noel's House Party.
He literally never did anything else but goof around like this and cause chaos.
I like to think as soon as Jack said he hated Blobby people backstage got in a panic and got on the phone and got that Blobby costume delivered to the studio in a police escort just to Jimmy could fuck with Jack
Mr Blobby was kind of like Barney the Dinosaur, except for a slightly older audience... the program "Noel's House Party", for which Mr Blobby was created was a Saturday night "Light entertainment" program... a bit like a weekly chat show.
The original purpose of Mr Blobby was to prank celebrities thinking they were on a children's program, with Mr Blobby being anarchic and trashing the set or props, for a reveal that there was no children's program.
Mr Blobbie is a British treasure 😂, although kids born past 2000 probably wouldn’t understand 😂
I have seen this before it makes me howl every time Jack Whitehall is an actor comedian he’s odd but likeable ❤thanks for this King Boomer having a rough day this is hitting the spot
If you want to get a real sense of Mr Blobby, just look up ' Noel's house party, Mr blobby '
There are still some on here i believe ( Clips )
Some of the crazy things we had growing up as kids, Ahhahaha! 😂😂
He was so funny though because he was always causeing trouble, lol!😂
mr blobby was legendary in the 90's whenever he was on noels house party he was exactly like this, destroying the set and smashing things up
Mr blobby is the epitome of pure uncaged chaos on television back in the day
Mr Blobby appeared on Noel Edmonds House Party.
Classic family entertainment.
Blobby is a comical genius. As a kid i loved the absolute nonsense and shithousery he would get up to back in the day, just sheer mayhem.
I'd never seen Mr. Blobby before. I love him!
Mr Blobby was always freaky.. he was on a Saturday night show called Noels House Party.. it was filmed infront of audience.. x
Best thing about Christmas/newyears for the last 18 years is Big Fat Quiz
He was funny as hell! Wwe's Big show face planted him into a table, when he was supposed to be a waiter and spilt something on him.
Jimmy Carr is England's answer to Max Headroom, whom you're probably too young to remember Boomy boy😉
I was petrified of Mr Blobby as a kid yet my parents still decided it was a good idea to take me to a Mr Blobby theme park
Haha loved the chaos of Mr Blobby....so funny 😂😂
Best thing Jack Whitehall did was "Who Do You Think You Are" with his dad. Because they are posh he was expecting some pretty bad stuff in his ancestral tree but was horrified by just how bad it was and how proud his dad was!
I have no idea why I didn't find him terrifying as a kid, but I do now.
I loved watching Noel’s house party in the 90s
Big fat quiz shows are always a great time!
Bloody was wild!¡! You should watch more of him, was a segment on a Saturday night program called Noel's house party, absolutely bonkers!
If you'd actually paid attention, you would have hopefully recognised the comedy genius on display here! I don't know who was inside that costume but he deserves a knighthood, for services to comedy. Absolutely brilliant! :)
I know who was in the suit and you would never guess what he was before Mr Blobby!
** Mr Bobby became a regular on Saturday night family TV show Noel's House Party, Bobby was introduced after a few seasons, the kids loved him, the show went downhill & became more if a kids TV show because of this thing Bobby.Parents hated it, Noel opened a Blobby Theme Park which later bombed!!!
I was a baby near the end of his reign of terror but theres a video of me at xmas opening a mr blooby teddy and was over the moon 😂 now i see him and think hes some crack demon
Russell brand and noel feilding on the big fat quiz is funny to watch
Don't think I've ever clicked on a video so quickly. I love Boomer's reactions and this is one of my favourite moments from TBFQ, so two universes colliding!!
Think you would really like ‘Bad Education’ sitcom with jack whitehall as a teacher🫶🏽👌🏽👏🏽
Jack Whitehall has done quite a bit of stuff, one you may be interested in is his role a teacher with some interesting pupils in his form class ‘Bad Education‘. His dad, who appears in more episodes as time goes by, is played by your mate Harry Enfield... although a little older in this series.
Mr Blobby had a pop hit song out back in the 90’s
I'm happy you've witnessed Mr Blobby.
Blobby Blobby Blobby!! Used to crack me up as a kid
I have no recollection of this but my dad said for my 6th birthday one of his mates turned up in a Mr blobby costume as a surprise and I cried. I believe him.
In the 90s Mr Blobby was everywhere it was a childhood staple, but I remember this episode coming out of big fat quiz of the 90s and when Mr Blobby came on I think I laughed for about 40 mins, one of the funniest things I have ever seen.
I loved Mr Blobby as a child in the 90's he was hilarious. Did you know he had a song that reached the UK Christmas number one in 1993. Also, during the end credits of that Quiz programme you just watched, Mr Blobby chased Jack Whitehall out of the studio.
I loved watching mr blobby as a kid and I still like him. Jack’s reaction to mr blobby may have been terror for him but was brilliant and funny for us to watch.
Did a chat show with his dad, Michael Whitehall, a celebrity agent from posh part of London. Did Netflix show, Travels with my father. Also starred in series, Bad Education.
Mr Blobby was the UK Christmas number 1- the Xmas number 1 is a big thing in the UK as are our Christmas Adverts
Mr Blobby is a legend
Everyone loved Mr Blobby. When he came on tv you would expect utter chaos. He even had a number 1 hit record.
Blobby is a National treasure 😂😂
Omg I used to watch Me Blobby as a kid
I'm with Jack . Bobby was on the ill fated Noels House party , and appeared on other BBC shows . A bit like marmite some loved him .
Great can still remember when Mr Blobby was only suppose to be a one off spoof to catch someone out and ended up so popular even had a No 1 Christmas hit record :)
Mr Blobby had the 1993 Christmas no.1 single in the UK
Apparantly Stephen Mulherne who hosts the tv show catchphrase began his television career being the person inside Mr Blobby.
a couple of Noel's house party episodes will show the blobster in his prime, lol
Most famous costume character in the UK = *Mr Blobby* from *Bradford.*
Most famous puppet character in the UK = *Sooty* from *Bradford.*
I don’t know if it was ever revealed but the rumour was Joe Wilkinson was in the suit
Im convinced thats Joe Wilkinson in the Blobby suit.
I used to love Mr Blobby as a kid
You need to watch “Bad Education” next. English comedy with Jack Whitehall.
It's 100% Joe Wilkinson in that suit! :D
Mr Blobby is intentionally horrible. He was originally conceived as a spoof childrens character to prank celebrities who though they were doing a real kids show as part of a Saturday night entertainment show called Noel’s House Party.
However he became so popular he sort of took on a life of his own for a good few years afterwards. There was even a theme park, I kid you not!!!
I loved Mr Blobby too. I got my picture taken with him at Cricket St Thomas when I was 9 or so. Didn't seem weird at all.
Jack Whitehall is a comedian and actor his parents are very rich. He actually does a travelling show with his father on Netflix you should check out
I kept waiting.
I kept waiting and waiting.
Through you asking who Jack was... I stayed silent.
Waiting for you to ask just who the heck Mr Blobby is or was.
And there's your reaction to him (it)... Brilliant! :D
Blobby was brilliant 🤣🤣
Amazed that have never heard of Jack Whitehall, fantastic stand up, check out his clips on Americans, comedy series Fresh Meat ( University students house sharing) Bad Education, incompetent school teacher with class of naughty teens. Decline and Fall by the great English writer Evelyn Waugh. I could go on and one he’s a National Treasure.
