I was wondering if this is all a direct translation or if she had some creative freedoms about it. The intro and exit songs were always subbed for me on season 1 and 2, but for whatever reason season 3 only subs the small bits of english in the song : [
@@CTSSTC She definitely used translyrics rather than a direct translation. The difference is that a direct translation is meant to be 100% accurate to understand the original song, while translyrics might change the exact meaning a bit in order to have the correct amount of syllables and stuff for singing.
@@Arkaeuss I recently watched a video on Moana & other Disney songs, and the complications around translation. Even getting the melodies to match up can be a real struggle and would undoubtedly happen with any direct translation.

This song was great in Japanese, but as a native English speaker the meaning has changed so drastically here. This version brought me to tears. The inspiration it conveys is just unreal. Aidan Nottelling The direct translation isn’t always going to be the most appealing in a song. Sometimes changing around some lyrics makes it sound better. Besides, Japanese to English is a very loose translation that can be interpreted in various ways. In fact, same goes with English. Why do you care so much about the lyrics anyway?
