Hi, I'm Mark and I've been teaching and playing guitar professionally for 26 years now, and I've picked up a lot of insights along the way; things I wish I had known when I started out. That's why I started this channel - to share this knowledge with you.
But this is more than just a place to learn guitar. It's also place where you can hang out, relax, be yourself, get support, make friends and get inspired to have more fun with your guitar. So go ahead. Pick up your axe. Hit play. And be a better guitarist.

It’s just about memorizing it. I’m sure you can use a few fingers.

Mark, love your teaching but I really disagree with this one. A huge part of learning guitar is learning your triads / inversions all over the neck, especially in the high 3 strings. The little 3 note pieces of the caged shapes. For anyone playing lead, they need to know the triads on the G, B, and high E string really well. I also use this for playing rhythm all the time. Little movable shapes on the high three strings are super duper handy and really simple. It is not just for advanced players. I started learning it just a few months into playing guitar.
If you're navigating based off of the low e string and trying to reverse engineer something on the G, B or high e, it will take you too long. You need to know the names of the notes INSTANTLY by looking at them, not by figuring it out. If you just take the time to do this you will excel in music so much faster.
