I know many people do vinyl sheets. We wanted something that matched our dark ceiling boards, this felt like a good option. But vinyl sheets are definitely much easier and maybe hold up better to abuse. Always trade offs to anything you do in a van
I'm sorry to hear that your floor isn't holding up as well as you had hoped, especially for the amount of work you put into it. And for someone who's "not a professional," you did a pretty freakin' good job with that moulding (as well as with the rest of the van)! The quality of work you have done on the van is far superior to a number of the professionally converted vans that I have seen. I really appreciate the careful attention to detail and your thorough explanations of how you perform each task.
Wow! This comment made my day, Wendi! Thank you so much! It is a bummer but I also haven't tried to remedy it much. I'm hoping some mineral oil will help with the scratches. Being such a high trafficked item with good reviews, I would have thought it would be holding up better. Thanks for continuing to watch and support us. And for the kind words! I hope you have a wonderful day! 😊
Love the floor, sorry it’s not living up to expectations. Your install was professional worthy and your attention to detail is admirable. Just wear slippers in the van. BTW, love the line after two days of rain “ I think we have to move out of this state”. 😉
Haha! Too bad I didn't have the video out prior to moving as a tease but I'm definitely happy to be rid of North Carolina's weather! We've been having beautiful mid-50 degree days the last couple weeks 😊
@@Trailvagabonds we are into winter temps with high 20’s in the night. Bike is on the trainer, golf clubs are in the basement and hoping the Farmers Almanac is correct and we get a heaping of snow this winter… 🤞🙏🏼😊
Cali Bamboo Geowood is not a vinyl product. It's a wood and limestone composite. Per their breakdown of the product it should be better wearing than it has been for us. If you have a flooring option you recommend, definitely share it. I'd love for those watching to have positive information and options whether I chose the right one or not. Thanks for your comment
@@Trailvagabonds We haven't started our conversion yet so I'm still researching options. But, we do have Vinyl planking in our house and from the damage we're seeing from just normal daily use, even the vacuum cleaner scratches it!!! So I could see that there's no way it could stand up to the rigors of van-life. Hope that info' is useful to anyone about to make their flooring choice. If I find a better option I'll let you guys know.
We love the Minnesota sweatshirt, don’t ya know! The floor looks awesome!
Thank you! And you betcha! The best state! 😊
Kudos very beautiful floor. Huge difference time consuming though. Doing this job is not for the weak at heart

You have a nice day as well!
Ahh the cordless Brad nailer! A most wonderful tool! I finally caved and bought one a month ago
I'm sure it could have come in handy for so many other projects 😂 Thanks for continuing to watch, brother! Hope you are well!
@@Trailvagabonds hey I am yeah! Electrical is finished, kitchens done, beds done, and a few other things! Wrapping up by April!
@@danielkopaee9241 that's awesome, congrats! We've been stalled on building since our move. Life's been crazy 😂
@@Trailvagabonds oh gosh I hear you, me and a friend just started a contracting business, and I’m also in uni. Gotta make the time where U can
@@danielkopaee9241 I hear that! Congrats on the new business. Hope it goes well! And good luck with your courses! 🙌🏻

Vinyl floor planks are definitely not hardwearing. Would not recommend to anyone with dogs or kids !!!!!!!!!
