I grew up with this movie, I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve watched it and I cry every single time! I think Elizabeth James was supposed to emulate Princess Diana: a young, beautiful, successful British woman who’s divorced and has red headed offspring lol but seriously Natasha Richardson was just a breathtaking woman inside and out. RIP. This whole movie and its cast is just pure gold.

My heart breaks for Lindsay Lohan because the poor girl went through trauma of all kinds in Hollywood. So sad.
Yeah she’s a fine actress and she seemed to be a well adjusted kid when she did The Parent Trap. But obviously there were a lot of problems brewing in her family that those 2 actors didn’t know about and the whole thing exploded when she got older.
She probably felt pressure not to take sick days... interesting how they praised her for being 'professional' for working while sick. Someone should have encouraged her to take a sick day so she knew it was ok to do that. When you're young, you want to please everyone and not cause any annoyances. But that's not a good work habit to carry forward.

This was the shortest 30 minute video I've ever seen...their chemistry is great. Also, that Meredith "411" monologue from Elaine was SPOT ON (same timing, vocal tone, facial expressions, etc), and Lisa pulled out the tears so fast as well.

I still love this movie. Dennis Quaid was such a stud. Lindsay was so good. Elaine and Lisa played their roles perfectly.

Natasha Richardson seemed like a sweet person, just the air about her. I remember hearing about her tragic death. It saddened me.
Who would've thought that 2 on-screen enemies would be off-screen, real life BFFs? I remember watching The Parent Trap, it's a gem 👯👭💎 Every scene was a side splitter and a tearjerker. Never get tired of that part: "Chessy! (Rings bell) CHESSY!! You rang??"

Fun fact: the scene where Dennis Quade sees his wife from the elevator and almost falls over as the doors are closing is actually a nod to a Cary Grant movie (My Favorite Wife) which also was remade (into a movie called Move Over Darling), and used the same gag ...

The funniest moment for me was when Meredith asks a question and the twin answers "Are you talking to me?" and Meredith responds "Who do you think you are Robert DeNero?"
I love this! They seem like really great people. Man I miss the innocent days of the 90s when you could write a good film, the actors were heartfelt and amazing, and the entire experience left a positive impression on everyone. Good times.

The movie came out when I was 1 year old, I’m 23 now. They still look exactly the same. They’re absolutely gorgeous and I love that their best friends in real life. I wish they both had more current roles..they’re both amazing.

Actually, it was Una Merkel, not Thelma Ritter, who played "Verbena" in the 1961 version, the part that was on par with the "Chessy" character played by Lisa in the 1998 version.

Funny how both women are kinda opposite to their “Parent Trap” characters in real life too. Elaine Hendrix is actually quite a nature girl since she grew up in the countryside, while Meredith was definitely more of a cosmetic little prima Donna. Lisa Ann Water is actually quite the girly girl/shopaholic since she grew up in the city, while Chessy was more of an artistic, free-spirited type in the movie. They must have loved filming this movie!!!
😮Elaine smashed that scene! It's so good. And she still remembers every line. Not gonna lie I didn't like her character for obvious reasons but wow. She is good. Chessie was literally the kind of mum I wanted to have. Even though I love my mum. She just has something about her.
