Just recieved it, im Oval in shape and this is in between intermediate oval and long oval but it fits just fine, im 57cm and size M is perfect. Build quality is excellent, safety rating 22.06 is really nice to have. Features are excellent. Didnt try it on the road yet but out of the box the chin strap is right at my neck, uncomfortably applying pressure on the adams apple . This might be a deal breaker... Dont want to ride around with a feeling that my helmet is trying to choke me....
That's unfortunate, maybe try wearing it with a balaclava or something to shield your neck if you haven't already. If you decide to return it and still need a sport-touring helmet, watch our latest Top 10 Sport-touring helmets of 2024 💪
The Vector 2 Carbon is a killer helmet and is actually the most budget friendly out of the helmets you listed. The Exo-1400 had slightly better road-test results, and that helmet comes with nice extra's such as a dark smoke visor and Scorpions Airfit system. Of the three you mentioned, I would put the Exo-1400 at number one, the LS2 Vector 2 Carbon at a very close second and the LS2 Challenger in third mainly due to the fact that its an older helmet.
Hello Storm, we test all the helmets on the same bike to make a good comparison. This is the bike our test rider has so we will keep using this. Thank you for your suggestion though.
I have 2 question, why is an entry level? For the safe security of the helmet or for what other thing ? And the other question, I already have the ls2 advant x carbon in M, my head has 58.5 cm and I have a lot of pressure in my Forehead, do I have to buy the L versión in this vector 2?
To answer your first question, the LS2 Vector 2 Carbon carries an ECE 22.06 certification, which means it has passed strict safety tests. The reason this helmet is considered entry-level is mainly due to the price. And to your second question, it depends on how long you've been wearing the Advant X Carbon in a size M. If you've been wearing it for a short while and the pressure hasn't decreased to a comfortable level, definitely consider getting a size L this time around.
Hi Martijn, a helmet with more outer shell sizes really makes a different. It looks better, more compact and contributes to comfort compared to a helmet with 3 outer shell sizes!
To reach the same level of strength more material is used in polycarbonate helmets which makes the helmet heavier and it is less durable than carbon helmets!
I can add my opinion. It's very narrow, noisier more than my 5 year old helmet, vents don't do anything, under chin guard lets alot of air through. Colder weather will be pain in the ass. Chin strap rubs directly into adam's apple. No real space for cables for comms, positions of visor are very stupidly arranged where in most used position doesn't lock. Internal visor doesn't lower enough it's edge is directly in sight. Good things are: two visors, pinlock included, lightweight.
most of what u said doesnt apply in reality or just applies on how u use it and ur size choice which might be wrong. doesnt neeed to lock at the position u said cause its super tight as a mechanism. Sound is quite ok , espeeeeeeeeeecially for the price, and if ya have an onoff or touring bike or hide behind fairings, it has no problem. Ya cant expect to be silent at 160kph though, with any helmet. I think it has inside communication space but not sure. Yep just searched it, it has, ls2 site says it. fieldofview is insane and sun visor comes nice and low. Are u sure u using this helmet properly or that u dont have a giants forehead? :P Good things are 1300gr-1500gr(medium, carbon nd composite fiber, in same order) which is insane low for 22:06 and at this price with its extras(nose thingy, pinlock, inside sun visor, second dark out-visor, small fluffy ''stand'' for parking/protection) its insane twice.
I think really there is no point to of this question. All manufactures of helmet brands manufacture helmets in china, vietnam, thailand etc.: maybe not only Arai, Shoei, schuberth, Kabuto and" maybe"- Nolan/Xlite
Listen. I am no fan of Chinese products, not because I‘m racist but because my experience has pretty much been exclusively negative. Sadly manufacturing has become worse across the board in the last 40 years, getting quality is nigh impossible these days. But LS2 helmets are fine. They‘re not perfect, but way better quality for your money than pretty much any other manufacturer in their price range. Take any other make and it feels cheap in comparison to LS2, especially Nolan/X-Lite and HJC. Especially the carbon versions which feel like 500€+ helmets. Nowadays I‘d take an LS2 over any other make unless I‘m shilling out for Schuberth, Shoei or Arai.

when will you guys test the Assualt FF800 or FF800 storm II?
please do test with nexx helmets
Great review! Will this helmet be featured in the best sport-touring or best entry level?
Thank you! Due to this price tag the helmet will be featured in the best entry level helmets!
Which would be better vector 2 or challanger?
Great video. Is this helmet suitable for a race bike? I want a helmet with a integrated sun visor!
This helmet is suitable for a race bike! It is a sport-touring oriented helmet!
Would you suggest this over the LS2 Challenger and Scorpion 1400? Thanks

Hi, is it a full carbon outer shell? or it has also composite layers to make it more safe as I think all other manufacturers of helmets do.
@flippy5118 no, you are wrong 👍
Can I use this helmet for track days? I don’t ride that often on a track but don’t want to buy 2 helmets!
You can use this helmet for track days that don’t require a helmet with a FIM Certificion!
Hi, is it possible to test the helmets on a naked motorcycle?
Hello Storm, we test all the helmets on the same bike to make a good comparison. This is the bike our test rider has so we will keep using this. Thank you for your suggestion though.

@@Championhelmets thank you very much i will go to buy the L version
What is the biggest difference between the normal and carbon version of the Vector 2?
Hello Sander! The material Carbon which ensures a lighter helmet and contributes to the comfort!
I have glasses with a bigger frame, would that be a problem?
Thank you for your question. That would be no problem at all!
How would you compare this helmet to the challenger Carbon?
The Challenger carbon performed better on Noise, Ventilation and Comfort! They were on par on the other parts! Hope this helps.
Wow, 6 outer shell sizes seems like a lot! But does it really make a difference compared to a helmet with 3 outer shells??
Hi Martijn, a helmet with more outer shell sizes really makes a different. It looks better, more compact and contributes to comfort compared to a helmet with 3 outer shell sizes!
What is the price difference between carbon and non-carbon?
~100-150€. The regular fibreglass Vector 2 retails for about 250-270€.
What is the difference between carbon and polycarbonate?
To reach the same level of strength more material is used in polycarbonate helmets which makes the helmet heavier and it is less durable than carbon helmets!
Polycarbonate is homogenous plastic. „Carbon“ is PAN mats enclosed in an epoxy resin. Basically fancy plastic that has been heavily reinforced.
what is the weight into the standard version in size M
Is this the only carbon helmet in this price range?
For now this helmet is the only Carbon helmet in this price range! But the EXO-1400 EVO also has a carbon version for example.

So each size has its own outer shell size?
This helmet almost has a outer shell for every size! 2XS/XS and 2XL/4XL have the same outer shell size. The sizes in between have there own sizes!
A 🏆
Chinese Carbon is a lure only. We dare to ride a chinese carbon bike frame?
Yet iphon is made china
Can you please dont call LS2 a spanish company? its a chinese company with the european headquarter in spain....
