The start of 'stunt' PR? Such a clever idea to set up the set at the premiere. Hearing director Edmund Goulding sounds strange; you forget he was English in real-life. And wonderful snippets of real-life incidents "Here's Anna Q. Nillsen after the accident that kept her from the screen for so long" - sound movies?! Amazing curio clip, thank you for posting!

L.B. Mayer says Irving Thalberg, his associate, made this film alone...Other sources, including Rotten Tomatoes reputable film critic attributes most of this film creation to Paul Bern. By the way, this September 5, 2022 marks 90 years from his passing...
