- A journalist questioned US State Department official Matthew Miller about the Israeli military's "Hannibal Directive", which allegedly orders the killing of soldiers to prevent capture by Palestinian groups.
The journalist suggested that this directive may have been used on October 7th against civilians, including potentially US citizens and foreign nationals.
Miller claimed he was unfamiliar with the directive and the reports, and declined to comment further. When pressed about his lack of knowledge on the topic, Miller attempted to move on to another question.

This is actually unbelievable that a State Dept spox is being asked directly about the Hannibal directive. A year ago that would've been inconceivable.
Well, that was a quick blowing off of a question. I am not sure he would have answered truthfully even if he claimed he knew about it, TBH.
