  • During a press briefing, State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller was questioned about a recent strike that killed a doctor who was allegedly also involved in Palestinian Islamic Jihad's rocket program.
Miller acknowledged that both Doctors Without Borders (MSF) and the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) had made conflicting claims about the incident, but stated that the US government had not verified either claim.
He emphasized that the US government often faces challenges in making definitive assessments about strikes due to incomplete or conflicting information, and that it reaches out to various sources, including NGOs and governments, to gather more information before making conclusions.
Miller also noted that while the US government may not always have definitive answers, it does make assessments based on available information, and that this approach applies to all countries, not just Israel.
