- This was VERY difficult because I own so many designer perfumes I love and had to narrow it down to 10! Well, these were my favorite for the year 2022. Of course with a few Honorable Mentions thrown in. Hope you enjoy!

This was tough! I left out a few because this was a top 10, but these were designer fragrances I reached for the most this year. ❤️
You mentioned Claire Smith, who I enjoy as well. When you talked about her PhD I chuckled. I justify watching so many UA-cam fragrance videos by telling my husband, “See, all of the UA-cam fragrance reviewers I follow have advanced degrees 😌” As if that brilliance somehow rubs off on me 😂
Your comment made me laugh! But honestly, their knowledge does rub off. What is her degree in? I’m guessing perfumery but some other UA-camrs have advanced degrees in completely different fields.
@@Demi1369 I’m not sure about the specifics of Claire’s degree but I know that she is a scientist and has supervised PhD students. I don’t believe her career field has anything to do with perfume.

I recently sampled Chanel #5 L’eau this year and really enjoyed it. But it wasn’t fiffrrrnt enough from Eau Première to justify a bottle. We shall see. I thought it was lovely. ❤️🙌
I absolutely LOVE Mon Guerlain Intense! The patchouli is beautiful in that one. And I’m a sucker for lavender!

I too have searched for a signature scent since forever, without success! My solution to this is to have a collection of single-note perfumes and oils such as patchouli, sandalwood, rose, tuberose, bergamot etc. I mix and match them and with other fragrances according to my mood. I realise I probably could never stay with just one perfume, however beautiful. I prefer perfumes which are slightly "off", no doubt containing indole.
That is a fabulous idea! I’ve just this year started enjoying fragrance oils now have a nice collection! But I haven’t been mixing them up amounts themselves. I match them up my fragrances. I love your idea!

Thank you Chris for a great list. My favorite designer house is Cacharel, I used to wear Amor Amor all the time in my twenties for its exhilarating citrus, I adore the light musk of Noa and the weird Eden is absolutely unique.
I love you went to some classics! Ok….I’ve seen Eden spoken about in a few videos here and I must admit…I’m a little terrified to try it! 😂

I've never been a sig scent person either, b/c, well, we have a CANDY STORE out there! If I had to get close, the 90's early 2000's it was Clinique Happy before it became a body spray & now Chanel CCM Intense. No matter what I wear, IF I am going out at night, winter or summer, there is a spray or 2 of that somewhere mid-lower body. Hope your Family has a Merry Christmas!!! PS Thank You for saying what "Niche" actually means, so many think it means "Not Cheap".

I have very few designers, unless you count Guerlain. I have lots of Guerlain, including Mon Guerlain, Meteorites, Insolence, Samsara, several flankers of Shalimar, including the new Tonka Millesime, etc. The only other designers I have for cold weather are Doir Addict and L'Interdit Rouge. However, I have quite a few faves from the exclusive designer lines. I need to try the Chloe Nomad Absolu because you said pine needles.

I wholeheartedly agree...His was the cherry that launched a thousand cherries - LOL! Is Kayali considered a designer house? I bought nearly every Kayali fragrance this year because I was late to the Kayali train and BOY - I was impressed! Also. shout out to Banana Republic for continuing to launch awesome, niche-quality, affordable fragrances for all of us on a budget out here! This year they released Tuberose Overdose, Velvet Pomegranate and Midnight Hour - All solid releases to their already stellar Icon Line of fragrances! I am not big on classifying but I consider Kayali a niche because all they make is fragrance. Otherwise a few would have been on the list! 🙌

For when I want mens attention! Lol! 9 very unknown and took me by surprise! Clarins Eau dynamisante! I am a huge Freddie Mercury fan! That was his favorite scent! Yes I love the sesame too, it's so distinctive in l'interdit intense, I much prefer it to the EDP or rouge, but I think we are in the minority. 🙂
Yes! A ton of ppl like the Rouge and I would have guessed that would be your preferred also but I was wrong. The pepper in the opening and prominent patchouli can be a deal breaker in this one. 😁

This is great list! 💖 Now I’m on the hunt for Patchouli Absolu. Some of the decant sites still have decently sized samples. Placing several of these on my sample list to try. My list would be (not ordered, because I love them all):
1. Armani Rouge Malachite
2. Chanel Coco Mademoiselle Intense
3. Dior Miss Dior EDP 2017 (discontinued 😭) so I’ll go with the EDT here, since it’s similar
4. Guerlain Mon Guerlain
5. LV Attrape-Reves
6. DG Light Blue Intense
7. Mugler Alien
8. YSL Libre EDP
9. Tom Ford Soleil Blanc
10. Juicy Couture VLG Gold
If I was repeating, I would have to add SEVERAL Chanels, Mon Guerlain Bloom of Rose, a few additional Diors, Armanis and Guerlains. Lancôme Oud Bouquet is another winner, along with all of the La Nuit Tresor line. It’s hard to narrow it down! 😂
Wow! Look at that list. My advice is to forget about Patchouli Absolu. Bottles are very expensive since it’s been discontinued. 🥲

Bottega Veneta I went to smell in store and I was really impressed, it's on my long long list....
Angel EDT to me is upside down angel, the patchouli is more dominant earlier on than in the dry down. The apple is pretty bright.
I just found out BV is being discontinued which would explain why it’s all of the sudden really affordable. Because in few months or a year the price will skyrocket. 🥲

Great video! I’ve been wanting to get my nose on Givenchy L’Interduit is on my wish list because of that sesame note! Angel amuse EDP and YSL Babycat, Chanel Coromandel are 3 of mine. Also, please don’t stop including discontinued scents. Some of us collectors appreciate them and find ways to find them even at great prices! We are grown and can handle our own frustrations 😂

Ange ou demon was my first "grown-up" perfume!! Got it as a present after I was released from treatment, very dear to my heart.

This is fun, thank you! I like a lot of these, but I would probably choose some other options. Couldn't really say for sure yet, since I still feel new to the community, and am still doing a lot of testing. But it's funny you mentioned the Olympia, since I was just looking up different videos last night about them. Want to see which would be the best for me to check out. Want to find a good salty vanilla, and I know I already like Idolê Aura, but want to see if there's a better one for me.
Olympia Intense and Kenzo World Power! Both are great salty vanillas. World Power also has a nice cypress note. For reference I really like Idole Aura!

I am finding it is becoming difficult to enjoy as many of the more affordable fragrances after trying out the privé lines with some of these houses. Collecting any of them is a costly endeavour.😅 I agree about Lost Cherry being the scent every cherry fragrance is compared to. I feel guilty about enjoying it because it is so costly and fleeting. It's a guilty pleasure. I want to smell the Gris Dior but that line is very hard to get in Canada. I have no idea why it isn't available. Have a good day!

You remind me so much of Marilyn Monroe. Just gorgeous. As is your perfume collection. I love Burberry Elixir and Libre Le Parfum from designers. Too funny bc I do not like Alien either. That jasmine is so sour and sharp on my skin. Even Goddess while it has those beautiful beachy coconut notes, the jasmine is still too strong. Thank goodness for Kayali Utopia 😂

I happened to have a sample of Bottega Veneta EDP. I love it and was about to get a full size bottle at one of the Bottega Veneta boutiques in Las Vegas this weekend. But they all said it got discontinued. Can’t find it at any of grey market websites either:(

Happy Sunday! Great picks-I’m glad you did a list of designer fragrances-there are so many great ones out there. I agree about Narciso Rodriguez EDT. I’ve been through a couple bottles myself. I wore Sung for 10 years before I started wearing Stella, which I still love. Other designer faves of mine: L’Impératrice, Eau de Vert Bohème, and Jasmine. I hope that designers keep making good, more accessible fragrances vs. moving solely to high-end only offerings. Thanks again for a great video!

I have definitely fallen down the niche rabbit hole. I don’t think I have worn a designer fragrance since the 90’s which was Dune. Before that was Obsession body oil spray which was my signature for sure and before that the original Lauren.
