The skies above Blackpool will be lit up tonight for the final performance of the World Fireworks Championship 2024.
The event gathers together the crème de la crème of the world’s firework elite and promises a mouth-watering series of shows with jaw-dropping entertainment for all the family - a great opportunity for visitors to take an extended weekend break.
The final display of the championships, on Saturday October 5, will be staged by Great Lakes Fireworks from Michigan in the USA. The stunning displays, which are set to music, will take place over the beach in front of the tower and are free to watch.
The build up will start from 7.30pm and and firing will start at approximately 8.30pm. The best place to watch is along Central Promenade between Central Pier and North Pier to watch the spectacle.
Due to the popularity of the event there may be traffic delays arriving and leaving the event. Visitors are urged to take extra time to arrive and advised to park in the southern car parks and use the tramway to travel to the event.
The World Fireworks Championship was created in 1999 to extend Blackpool's tourist season beyond the summer months. It's now become one of the resort's biggest draws, attracting up to 50,000 spectators each year.....
