I refused to sell Wambugu apple business to a white man for 30M, today it’s worth billions | LNN
Вставка
- Опубліковано 7 лют 2025
- Today, one Wambugu apple tree makes him a cool Ksh.60,000 after an average production of 500 apples, 4 annual harvests, and a market price of Ksh.30 per apple.
But, the opposite would also be true
Had he sold the Wambugu Apple Concept to an investor over 10 years ago, he would be languishing in poverty and would not have been able to buy his four children large chunks of land
He however maintains without a shadow of a doubt, his wife is the reason he has come this far. Without her, there would be no Wambugu Apple
His daughter Kate will also talk to us extensively about the apple business in Kenya, the do’s and donts and why Wambugu Apple is putting Kenya on the map

I remember those days in the 90s and 2000s when Mama Carol used to be in choir with my mum in Ihwa PCEA Church, Nyeri. Their offeringgs were always Apples. It seems God accepted their offerings and blessed them.
They had apples at that time, and God accept their offerings
30 million was a lot of money then!!!! Thank you, Papa Wambugu, for not selling your childrens' heritage for a bowl of lentils. Money is paper... what you have is wealth..land and good farming. And now many people are benefiting from this too. Huge respect 🙏🏿. Thanks, Lynn and LNN team, for bringing this amazing legendary man.
Wrote before watching and going ahead papa Wambugu has confirmed about not selling his heritage like Essau. He's a very wise man for trusting and following God. ❤
Absolutely. Great man indeed
I live in America but I have planted wambugu apples , the only problem is birds, they destroyed the fruit
@petersonikambi9014 You're so blessed to take the initiative. I'm in 🇬🇧 and can't wait to plant too. They say net shading will protect the apples from birds 🐦 🐦⬛ 🐦 . Taking into consideration, the net is large enough to allow bees in for pollination. That's the much I know. All the best.
Thats very wise of him
That's how politicians have sold 🇰🇪.
Especially to 🇸🇦 China 🇺🇸 and others.😢
@@Ukversuskenya Thank you for the information . I will try that
I love that Papa Wambugu gives all the glory to God and attributes all his knowledge to Him. Nations are coming to Him because he refused to sell his birthright like Esau. Lessons learned from this episode:
-Let God be glorified through your successes
-The hand that gives is the one that receives
-Find a smart spouse, work in one accord, and trust in God to fulfill what he promised
For me K.A.R.I takes the day for patenting the Apple for the wambugu’s. That really saved them. The idea of Wambugu going selling the apples and bringing all money home and all the family members would see their labor is a big lesson for accountability and motivation for the family members.
There is just something about kikuyus whether you love them or not, you gotta accept they are blessed with extraordinary brains

He has just confirmed that, the fear of The LORD is the beginning of wisdom. He acknowledges God in every step. Its no wonder he has remained humble.More grace and favour Mr.Wambugu.
It's great to hear how the Bible has influenced this man's character. Never underestimate the word of God 🙏
Yes. Very inspiring, this man talks to God like Moses himself. He has taught me a valuable thing, to consult and talk to God at every step.
Of all the most inspiring stories I’ve watched on Lynn’s show, this tops em.’ Keynote; Humility, hardwork, and the love for family!
Amen
I wish my father Was Wambugu. This an example of a Responsible, Loving and Caring father. He speaks his mind and very humble.Wazazi wanafaa wakuwe hivi ii interview imenifundisha vizuri.Good parenting and good future. ❤

Peter Wambugu is a great Man he has kept God first in everything and openness to his family 🙏🙏
Thankyou very much 🙏
Nimekuwa celeb ki plani huku kwa Lynn Ngugi huku hatutoki ngoo Ni God kila siku and the rest flows 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
By the fact that this man is a resilient farmer and has made it to the billionaires club, he's an embodiment of resilience. He deserves the title of resilience unlike the politicians sitting in high offices working in syndicates to impoverish and make billions overnight.
Politics also requires resilience.
Kumbe tunalialia huku wengine wanafanya kazi. Wow! What an amazing inspiring story.
I love kikuyu men! Packed with knowledge & wisdom. No education but street smartest ❤ I love me some Wambugu.
How I wish Mzee was part of the national medal awardees during tomorrow's Jamhuri celebrations 🙏
The story has encouraged me much to trust on God , bcoz it is not about education nor a good job but by the grace of God wambugu had no knowledge of agriculture but God helped him on how to graft without going to any class . This has helped me to know that i just have to trust i. GOD WITH ALL MY HEART
The way he's mentioning God's name every second😊❤
This man mentions God many times over. The Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Surely God gave him knowledge and understanding to farm that Apple. Mr Wambugu trusts God. He says God was in all this and it is true. The Chef was guided by God too to advise Mr Wambugu and he took the step of vain. Well done Mr and Mrs Wambugu God bless you much more for blessing your children and many people for sharing the Apple miracle.
True definition of a leader in the family
She was also a good helper to him
Not only are they successful in business but also in their relationship
Good parents
Am humbled
Inspiring, just found this interview at the right time when i want to start farming, in 3 years time we will have conversation with Lynn. Somebody bookmark this comment.
With God all thing are possible.
Yes we have
When father and sons connect then the future is secured, what the father saw while sitting is now an empire, the spirit of God spoke to the legendary wambugu
This man determined to be nobody’s slave. Inspiring. What a strong spirit and true genius🙏🏿
As well as wise leader of his family
I thought he was in his early 40's . He's really blessed with youthfulness 😊
Kate is a great ambassador for real. I mean I am sold already. There`s money in the soil is my take away. Thanks lynn for plugging us with great stories
I like Kate's energy ,very positive just like the father .
God bless the work of their hands.
To be sincere, on the onset, I almost switched off, when I looked at the time remaining. Lessons learned, God first, patience, humbleness, smart and hard work, as well as family unity are critical attributes to good success. Well done Wambugu and family. Thank you Lynn for how you conduct your interviews full of empathy, laughter, and emotional connection to all.
Same here I almost skipped the video. What a wonderful surprise
I am from Fiji and this has been an inspiring day watching this. It is quite clear that Mr Wambugu knows his Bible and has a close relationship with God! He has walked the Word and how it works...I spent the entire time galvanised by this interview. What a blessing and it MUST BE GOD! Wow thanks for bringing this to us the viewers and I AM SO INSPIRED! GOD BLESS YOU ALL AND GOD BLESS WAMBUGU APPLES! Hope to meet Kate one day and just learn how this is done!

We grew up being told that agriculture is the backbone of our economy...Good job Lynn for this agriculture/farm episodes. They are so inspiring ❤.
Mr. Wambugu thank you for not selling your seed to those who thought you did not deserve to be known, popular, blessed, wealthy and happy. I applaud you for securing your childrens childrens inheritance. May you continue to keep this apple tree patent in our beloved Kenya as you bless the rest of the world . Well done.
A wambugu apple farmer is here as well can't wait to start making millions am so inspired by kate
Kudos Lynn for focusing on agriculture as a source of wealth creation. We need to inspire the upcoming generation to stop seeing farming as a poor mans hobby. There is a looming shortage of agricultural specialists since it is being shunned by youth who prefer to pursue the new avenues available - social media and tech. Let the youth see such role models to believe that there is good money in agriculture if done right.
Totally inspiring. 30 million reminds of 30 cents that Jesus was betrayed for
Amazing analogy
May be we are also betrayed here
Nimewatch hii show katikati nikaenda Eldore kutafta Apple nikule as i finish.

So darling for real
Ha ha this was funny
What an inspirational interview. I was lucky to interact with Kate last month through Facebook and i got to get 10 trees (beginning of my empire)from her. She is very open and accessible and may the Almighty God continue blessing the Wambugus. Once again, THANK YOU Lynn
Such a great eye opener!Being a girlie who has always been a soil lover since birth this is my best episode yet!Wambugu apples here I come.
I think this whole building a business with the aim of selling to " investor" is the hugest scam for our African business. I'm so proud of this family. They are so blessed to have such a wise father. So inspiring.
Thankyou very much 🙏🙏
Slow and slow and we loose the small farmers it that happens...
When an old man tells a story it sounds different ❤❤❤❤very interesting and inspiring.
Very true, he has told his story very well 👏
Mad respect Wambugu. He's the exact opposite of my dad, the laziest man on earth who sold his inheritance I feel like Niende Nimgonge.
Start your future and forget your dad got rid his inheritance do a difference my brother
Honour man😢 he has failed yes but honour him irregardless he gave birth to you.
I second this parents it's better to give out the inheritance to kids while in sound mind instead of just keeping to themselves Mr Wambugu has done justice to his kids they can't fight over properties like we see in some families ❤❤❤
Very inspiring story. Iam very encouraged. I have above 30 plants and they have started flowering. I look forward to crunching.
Munatoa wapi seedlings please
Money or box. A very inspiring story. Wambugu, you were lead by the Spirit of God. Thanks Lynn for bringing Mr Wambugu cause people think farming is for the poor only. In our country almost everybody is selling their land. Nowhere to plant anything not even a flower. Instead of developing or cultivating. A good family and God fearing. May God continue to bless them.
This is an interview that kept me smiling the whole session
I learnt a lot and I hope at some point I will have my own farm .At some point I will come to this comment and testify
Wambugu is a typical village Kikuyu millionaire with a deep Kikuyu accent. A very inspiring story.

Lynn Nfugi, I’m so inspired by Mr Wambugu family apples, Kate is absolutely amazing and right indeed, I and my wife traveled all the way from London and visited Wambugu farm in laikipia but we had a courtesy welcome they took us for a tour of their farms,we slept well in their home, fed well tea was served any time plus meals for three days we stayed at their home,to be honest we didn’t want to leave, we may Mr Wambugu and he is very friendly gentleman and down to earth, we managed to get 550 apples seedlings as atrial and we exported them to Uganda and they are doing great, and any issues we get with the plants.we just call Kate and she is always there for the advice, even if she misses the phone call she always calls back, so our inspiration for her great work and educational goes beyond our expectations long live Wambugu apple family and blessings to you all,our regards from Hassan and Haawa Uganda
Very inspiring
Wambugu and family this is pure determination and hard work and of course putting God first. Lynn and team doing very educative interview.

I can attest, I was so humbled by Kate's hospitality when I visited the farm. I really felt at home. Thank you so much Kate.
I have been so mesmerised by this interview. Lyn, keep up the good work girl! Papa Wambungu, thank you for focusing on the vision and not being swayed by the offer of a lot of money. You are a true example of a God fearing man/husband/father and leaving an inheritance for your children's children whilst you are still alive. Mama Wambungu, you are a great example of a virtuous woman. Ambassador Kate, may God continue giving you more wisdom as you promote Wambugu apples worldwide. Indeed wealth is in the soil. Thank you for the inspiration and stay blessed.
Kate is amazing. She is so humble, polite and very realistic. I spoke to her some two years ago. Ladies, this is the next avocado....Lets make this about health, lets grow wambugu apples.
She is absolutely amazing 🙏🙏

The man mentions God 1000 times. Very inspiring. A rear attribute in our current, and future generations..
This family has inspired me that am working to relocate in Kenya and be a complete farmer. Thanks Lyn for showing people town is not a solution as it has bern in most people's mindset
Did anyone get Inspired by the hard work element in this people, going to farm on a moonlight, waking up at 3 am to go to the farm.....our generation we need to hear this more, that Indeed hard work pays
Papa Wambugu's strong belief in God is very evident and commendable. He believes that God gave him a vision in 1981* about him harvesting fruits and exporting them via an airport. He's also a humble man. God bless and keep him longer to share in this grace of prosperous farming of Wambugu Apple.
Very wise man will leave a huge legacy to his generation truly WISDOM does not require a PHD!!!

Wambugu is a Hero indeed,a millionaire,a very person who dont give up.HE HAD DIRECTED HIS CHILDREN ALL HOW TO FISH AND THEY ARE ALL RICH.

The whole story is for all of us in whatever field. Mr. Wambugu and family is an example for a complete family.
Wow ,Amen. This is dope Lynn ,the mzee and mama down to earth, the daughter's energy wow... this mzee, needs the nobel prize
Well, of all of your conversations, Lynn, this is the most inspiring. Wambugu is the real deal. The sequence of his life is very motivational. One thing I've noted with him is that God comes first. His is a success story both as an entrepreneur and a parent. I suggest that they write a book
One of the best interviews. Thank you Lynn and the Wambugu Family. God bless you.🇬🇭 ❤
Wambugu : "God.... God... God... " not a single sentence without God,that's a true man of God,a role model to many,a good example of what God can do if you put your trust in Him... Every man as a head of the family should raise his family to be that God fearing like Mr Wambugu is.It takes a real dad to raise a daughter who after thinking for a long time, the best example she could find in her mind was "giving Jesus freely"
This is educative, informative, inspiring and above all a challenge to all of us who are busy from office to office looking for jobs. Congratulations the Wambugus!

This man is a legend, the best interview i have seen so far. So inspiring, when God opens doors no one can close.
I am so inspired. Indeed, when you put God at the centre of everything, you can not fail
This is the fulfillment of Deuteronomy Chapter 8 verse 18 where God says "HE shall give us the power to create wealth" power to create wealth does not mean being born with a silver spoon like being born in the Royal Family automatically making someone royalty it means God will give us wisdom, ideas, creativity & even good health so we can work hard & He''ll bless the work of our hands making us prosperous.
Mr. Wambugu's saving Grace is that he makes decisions standing on the word of God. It has been his Northstar. There is no greater wisdom and a teachable lesson for us all.
His father transferred his wealth to his son nothing is small in God's eyes
