This is my project of the day. I have a friend who spends majority of her time outside with her horses, that this would be a perfect Christmas present for. My idea to personalize it a little more is instead of stitching all the way up, putting ribbon the top 3rd so its adjustable and looks kind of corseted.
I LOVE your videos! You are so easy to understand, and you take your time showing us step by step what we have to do. You have a very friendly way of presenting projects, and I appreciate your videos tremendously, Crochet has been a life-changing hobby for me, and I'm really grateful for you and other people out there who take the time to make videos to help us amateurs improve our skills. Thank you a million times over.
Wow!Just learning to crochet.Been looking for the right color affordable leg warmers all winter.Unsuccessful!Guess what! You just taught me to make my own.Thank you so so much!!!What a great lesson!!!
Thanks so much for the tutorial! I am a beginner & found this video SO easy to follow...I can now add leg warmers to my (admittedly short) list of completed work!
I love your tutuorials. They are so easy to understand and you explain it well in detail. I've been choosing your tutorials over other ones b/c of the simpleness. Thank you!
Hi, thanks so much for your great videos, I have just taken up crochet again after 40 years since I last dis any!! Just completed legwarmers in multi-coloured green yarn for my grandson, turned out great . I look forward to lots more projects and find your instruction so easy to follow
Thank you for this tutorial. My mom just told me this morning she'd like a pair of leg warmers. So, I have already begun. This is so simple. Merry Christmas!
i am a beginner so i will have a go at making these i think i understand you i have been watching tutorials for a while to see who is easier to understand i think you are way up at the top as you do not rush and explain it so slowly thank you so much i am off to see how i go
I know you made this video 4 years ago. and I made them then, I liked them, but wasn't happy with them.. So I made a few alterations on them, and have to say love, love, love them. size g hook, red heart super saver. I followed everything you did, but added more rows to them, I ended up with 22 rib rows, 10 sc stitches,on each end, and 40 1/2 doubles in the middle. It gives room for leggings or skinny jeans under them, gives them a little slouch with the pants on, they are cool... Thank YOU for this pattern..
Thanks for this tutorial! Your instructions were so simple and straight forward and I appreciate you explaining the little details like showing EXACTLY what and where the 2nd chain from the hook is and so forth which I had a hard time understanding when I first started crocheting. I will be sure to subscribe and watch more. THANKS AGAIN!
Thank you for your CLEAR directions! I want to make a pair for my mother inlaw who is in an assisted living facility. Her circulation isn't good, judging by the condition of the skin on her legs. I thought maybe by keeping her legs warmer, her circulation might be improved.
Jenna's Crochet Review here! Love the pattern! I did notice you mentioned a mistake made in your 3rd row, aside from that, you explain this very well and it is much easier to do your pattern than many anticipate! I suggest this pattern for beginners and adding embellishments can jazz up the leg warmer even more! I suggest as she does in this video to sew them together instead of crocheting due to the back loop stitch used.
Thank you for this great tutorial, you explain things so well. By the way I have started the cast away cap for the toddler size, I am so grateful for your help.
Hi, I have been trying to find a pattern to make leg warmers so I thank you so very much. I was trying to go from top to bottom. I made your baby 1 piece shawl, I used the wrong size hook and it fit one of my little girls in the church nursery!!!
Oh my gosh! I put it on the subtitles so I could try to watch it with my family in the room and read the instructions. Your accent is so strong it changes half of the words to other things. Quite funny!! But on a brighter note. I LOVE your videos! I have watched probably 15 of them to learn different things. So many other people don't take the time to demonstrate as well as you do. But seriously... for a good laugh turn on your subtitles
I love the color of your fingernail polish Claire it matches the yarn perfectly. I'm going to try and make some leg warmers. They look fun to make. Thank you again for another great tutorial. :-)
@TheCraftsy I got that hook from a good friend of mine. Her name is Cassi. She has a facebook page. Search for Cassi is Crafty (no 'e' on the end of Cassi either) She sells her hooks for $7-$15 depending on the hook, size and colours etc. Sometimes she'll include postage also but usually only for Australian customers. She ships her hooks worldwide and is usually happy to take custom orders as long as you're willing to pay a little extra.
Hi there, Love your tutorials.....very helpful for a beginner!!! In the beginner of this video you mentioned that you can add elastic to the leg warmer to prevent it from slipping.....how do you go about doing that? Thanks for you help!!
Thanks for the tutorial. I find the single and double (at least the dbl I do) was looking really distorted so I switched to 1/2 dbl and double. It is taking me sooooo long though. I am such a slow chocheter :(
@Lac3PrincessHi Thank you for your message, I am sorry to disappoint you. The laws are very strict with making videos on copyrighted written patterns. I don't have warmers that go over the foot, but if you have a look here on my website I do have patterns for slippers. www.bobwilson123.org/wearables.html
I'm curious why you sew up the side, rather than crochet it? I've also joined seems by matching the stitches and crocheting into both. It seems to be stronger and neater looking. Is it wrong?
ha, i crochet left handed, so it is weird to see your videos, though if i listen i know what to do... i am trying to learn hwo to right hand crochet as well... but it is proving to be difficult... to think, i could be an amphidextrious crocheter! :)
so if i wanted to make these longer to go over the knee i just make the chain longer and somehow work out how to keep them up???? orrrr you could do a video on knee warmers cos some of us - namely me - have stupid knees that seize up in winter.
Hi Clare:)I am making your leg warmers and first time when I watch ur tutorials I am confused. I read all the comments as well and still I couldn't get it! I know u realized later on ur comments u said smtg u did another... But that made me even more confused. Did u say it wrong or did it wrong? thank u so much ur videos mean a lot to me:)

Hi, I have been trying to find a pattern to make leg warmers so I thank you so very much. I was trying to go from top to bottom.
I made your baby 1 piece shawl, I used the wrong size hook and it fit one of my little girls in the church nursery!!!
Hi elastic is optional, I would use the hat elastic which is thin, you will add it by sewing it in the first or last row
thanks for all of your nice and easy to follow patterns :)
You are so an amazing teacher easy to follow and understandable, I subscribed to your channel, love the nails too.
Oh my gosh! I put it on the subtitles so I could try to watch it with my family in the room and read the instructions. Your accent is so strong it changes half of the words to other things. I love the color of your fingernail polish Claire it matches the yarn perfectly. I'm going to try and make some leg warmers. They look fun to make. Thank you again for another great tutorial. :-)
+Kimzeb0410 thank you for watching!

Yes they do don't they, but would rather see what she is doing as it keeps going out of veiw, showing more of her nail polish than her crochet.

Hi there,

In the beginner of this video you mentioned that you can add elastic to the leg warmer to prevent it from slipping.....how do you go about doing that?
Thanks for you help!!
Hello Jeanny Lam You can sew/weave the elastic in the top of the legwarmer
love it!!!! thanks so much, val. keep up the good work.
Thanks for the tutorial. I find the single and double (at least the dbl I do) was looking really distorted so I switched to 1/2 dbl and double. It is taking me sooooo long though. I am such a slow chocheter :(

Hahaha... Im digging your leg drawing. Look
I would put a crocheted cord in the top,and it will be like a draw chain to tie it up so that it will stay up better.
Make the chain the length you want your legwarmer
@rachiibuu they will looks so cute as newborn ones !
Love the pattern . Have you done a warmer for the paw[to cover my feet] Your help will be appreciated.Your videos are my backbone to follow crocheting
I don't have warmers that go over the foot, but if you have a look here on my website I do have patterns for slippers.
www.bobwilson123.org/wearables.html
Is there any specific yarn we should use? What brand/type did you use in the tutorial?
wonderful! how can i adjust them to fit a baby\toddler?
Thank you, you did a great job on this tutorial :-)
Hi there I am not sure how to make a camera case, sorry
LOVE THE COLOR OF YOUR POLISH!!! care to share the name?????
Hello! Thank you for the video! I have a question, can you make horizontal stripes onto the legwarmer with the vertical ribbing?
OMG I ment to say SC on the last 10 stitches and its HDC in the middle section ..thanks for pointing that out
How would I add the elastic? and if I do add it should I add it on the top and bottom or just the top?
I'm curious why you sew up the side, rather than crochet it? I've also joined seems by matching the stitches and crocheting into both. It seems to be stronger and neater looking. Is it wrong?
@26amandarenee thanks for watching :)
I amworking on a pair with 150 stitches!
THANK YOU!!!!!!
Thank you and thank-you for watching
Can I just your instructions to make them for a kid?
YESSS ! Thank you !
hi bob...how do you add color to this if it's going sideways or going horizontal .......
ha, i crochet left handed, so it is weird to see your videos, though if i listen i know what to do... i am trying to learn hwo to right hand crochet as well... but it is proving to be difficult... to think, i could be an amphidextrious crocheter! :)
I'm a left handed also. I reverse with what i see, seems to turn out ok
Thank You...Thank You...Thank You !!!
Wow!
Zizi
Hi, in the video i show you how to get the measurement you need, just use the baby measurement :)
What size hook should you use?
I'm wondering if instead of working in the round you can work rows until you get to the size around needed then sew up the whole thing?
hello, did you watch the tutorial? This pattern is not made in the round. It is crocheted flat and joined at the end.
@deevine1030 SOrry but I do not understand your question :)
hahahaha OMG do i really talk that bad that it wont translate properly LOLOL thanks for the laugh :)
I was wondering what and where did you buy your hook?
Would depend on her age and how long you want them
Should it feel hard or like stretchy ?? Please help . Lol :)
so if i wanted to make these longer to go over the knee i just make the chain longer and somehow work out how to keep them up???? orrrr you could do a video on knee warmers cos some of us - namely me - have stupid knees that seize up in winter.
Yes you make the chain longer. If you need them to stay up you can add a tighter cuff to them.
Could you PLEASE show, tell or give info on how to add the elastic.
@TOOCHOCLATE50 Yes just do less chains to start off :)
Hi Clare:)I am making your leg warmers and first time when I watch ur tutorials I am confused. I read all the comments as well and still I couldn't get it! We did 10 sc 30dc and 10 sc then second raw we did the same thing again taking back stitches then third raw u said smtg then u did DC all across... Pls is that right? Is this the pattern?
