Hi Clare. This is a great hat! I use all sorts of cotton, from Lilly’s Sugar & Cream, Peaches & Cream for kitchen items to Hobby Lobby and Lionbrand cottons. It all depends on the project I guess. Thank you for this wonderful tutorial!❤
@theastewart6721 thank you, I gave the Lillys sugar and cream a go and made a video of course lol. I am editing it today for Sundays release.
That’s great Clare! Looking forward to it! I think the Lilly’s is a good choice because it’s a bit stiffer than some of the other cottons. ❤️
Yay very pretty.
@TheMiranda08 thank you 😊

That might be some kind of electrical tape. I like that this starts with a granny square.
Yes, it make the hat much easier to make
Very nice hat. That colour is quite an eye catcher. ❤ TFS!

Lion brand coboo cotton yarn.
Thank you so much for the suggestion, I will keep my eye out at my local shop.
I love the pattern. How can the brim be made wider?
@Ysajia hmm 🤔, good question.
You could try another round of no increasing (instructions for round 2 of the brim) but I am unsure if it will lay flat like you need it to or start to curl up.
If it does start to curl up, you can add another increase round (instructions for round 1 of the brim)
I am from India
@AffectionateFerryBoat-xy7cs thank you for watching 😍
Hi Bob Wilson, thanks for sharing your talents with me and I have a question about the calculated measurement for the circumference head size. Why did you use 314 to measure? I understood everything but that thanks.
Why did you use 3.14 ? I 'm watching from Las Vegas Nevada the silver state.
@@arnicewilliams7695 I don't actually remember the reason 🤔 I just know it works 😁
Ps. You can call me Clare 😉
Yes, I just wanted you to know that I have followed your tutorials from years back when you had the dog and before you got married. Have a great day.
@@arnicewilliams7695 thank you so much for supporting my videos for so long, i really appreciate it.
Clare do you think weedeater cord work instead of the wire around the brim
@bubba6381 that's sounds like a great idea, just make sure you can't kink the cord. Let me know how you go.
It’s not just the granny stitch that’s referred to as a stitch even though it’s actually a stitch pattern. V-stitch. Picot stitch, cluster stitch, puff stitch. It’s just understood that we’re referring to a stitch pattern or a stitch combination.
@belantww absolutely! I forgot about the others until you mentioned them. Thanks for the comment and choosing to watch my tutorial.
@@CrochetwithClare I’ve been watching your tutorials since you did paper crafting. You’re still one of my favorites. 🥰
@belantww omgosh, that is so long ago! Thank for the continued support 💙💙💙
@@CrochetwithClareMy pleasure! I’ve made some of your patterns and I love your humor. ❤
Could you use blanket yarn, so the hat can be worn in the spring and fall? I am in Edmonton, Canada.
hello, I am sure you could, let me know how it goes, it would be really cosy to wear.
My brim is still floppy after the wire. Help.....
@born2cre8boutique hello, are you able to share a photo in our Crochet with Clare Facebook group?
m.facebook.com/groups/crochetwithclare/?ref=share&mibextid=NSMWBT
I'm fluent in both stitch terminologies, it's not that hard to remember them both.
I'm in Oklahoma USA
@RealMelodyBlue agreed, it really comes in handy too, because it means we can follow more patterns.
@CrochetwithClare exactly, I don't have to think about it, all I need to know is what stitch and I can tell by looking if it's a UK treble I know it's a US double, wraps around the hook is a dead giveaway no matter what terms.
One more question. What size cable wire did you use?
hello, 1/16 of an inch
@@CrochetwithClare Thank you
@cortheniabolin7363 no worries 👍
Good morning Clare. I didn't hear what size crochet hook you are using. Could you tell me please so I can start my bucket hat?
She said use the size hook that the yarn recommends on the packaging. She is using 5 mm H hook. I looked at the hook when she was talking about the supplies you needed
@sheritawatson2423 oh whoops 🤭 sorry about that. Yes, it is a 5mm or H hook, happy crochet 😁
@christieallen4797 thank you 😊
