Over-running clutch is a MUST HAVE if there’s Any chance that you will hook up your PTO. Spend the money, it’s not worth your life or someone else’s not to have that piece of equipment on your tractor. Nice tractor, if it didn’t have a few dents, it wouldn’t be worth anything. I have two of them and I love them both!👍 BTW- The reason so many 8n’s don’t have a grill anymore Is because the grill is your emergency brake, Or so, we used to say a few decades ago🤣
I was thinking that a front trailer receiver hitch might be a hand thing to have to move trailers around the property. I have issues with backing my boat trailer with a rear hitch, so that’s why I thought of it.
So i remember seeing in a video that 8n parts are relatively easy to come by. Are the 9n and jubilee the same way or did modernization and anti-consumer engineering start to take hold and make parts scarce? I’m asking because i love this tractor. The look, the size, and the fact my grandfather had one. I never got to acquire it before his passing and it is since gone. But i’d really love to get one of these old girls. Any information is appreciated❤
I have a 1952 8N. I purchased a 12 volt conversion kit, but my three-year-old six volt battery keeps on going. My generator has not worked in three years. I recharge my battery with a HF 4 Amp smart charger at the end of a workday. So far, I have been able to start my tractor 12 times before recharging the battery. I’ll upgrade to 12 volts as soon as my battery dies.
You can get a add on pad for the pan seat, it's about 2" thick and it ties on, please be careful using a box blade behind any N series tractor you can quickly overwhelm the tractor.
I have learned to use that box blade pretty well. I’ve definitely overwhelmed the tractor a few times. I think a smaller carrying capacity would do it some good while still stretching to 5 feet.
I looked at the cheaper version of the electronic ignition, and they all got mixed reviews with a lot of 1 star reviews. Some worked, some only worked for a few seconds to a few minutes.

Excellent content man. Great job. Thanku 🙏 Love my “51” 8N and all of that Old Iron!!! Keep ‘em comin’!
Nice job. I like the single-lever parking brake and the foot throttle. Haven't installed them yet, but people who have are big fans.
I agree, good upgrades to make.
A fishing seat for swivel to have good visible for short manner ering

I enjoyed your video but i use my 8n in the sun a lot. I built a roof with a stretched metal backing. With a Bush hog its a must have.
I’d love a roof over the seat. Would be really nice to have.
@@DereksWorkshopAndProjects I cheated, 1 inch square tubing and a piece of barn tin.

I think LED headlights and one of the small LED off road bar lights for a reverse light are good upgrades.

You might want to get your distributor wires off the exhaust manifold.

Mines been working for two years. I didn’t even read the reviews.
