Good deal, just enough space for a 12 pack of beer. What more to want from life? Seriously tho, have gone grocery shopping forgetting my cargo limit and ended up with edibles as a passenger...to the roof hoping not to get ticketed for obstruction of view!
@@MomentofZedPs. Bonus points for going for the manual transmission! I see so many with automatics. I know the manual transmission isn't for everyone, but in a car like this it's so much more satisfying of a drive experience with the manual!
Very good video, I picked up a 96 Z3 with 57k miles on Christmas Day. I since replaced the door handle gaskets that you mention in the video with eBay ones ($10). They are super easy to install. I also addressed the cooling system, I had zero leaks but the car is coming up on 25 years of age. BMW likes to use plastic on their cooling systems and these are prone to failure after many heat cycles. Especially the plastic coolant connector behind the head and the one beneath the intake manifold. The water pump’s impeller is made of plastic too and it can break inside the engine. Really enjoyed the video. Subscribed.
Hey thank you for the comments and information (and subbing!). Sorry for the delay in replying, working the full time job too! I'll check out the door handle gaskets, easy is my favorite kind of project. Congrats on your Z! Hope you enjoy it and if you have anything you'd like to see me do, shoot me another comment.
I replaced my Z3 catalytic converter with a Amazon unit for $50. I have a welder. I made a wooden jig to hold all the parts to tack weld them. Then pulled it off the jig to complete the welds. I didn't want to weld on the car, I was worried about possibly frying any electronics, in this old car. I works, no more check engine light.
Great video, I have same model, colour on 99. I have done lot work on mine tidying it up and maintenance. Light nimble car and excellent fun round English country roads. .
Thank you very much! Nimble is a great word for it, I think the Atlanta Blue is one of the best colors they made. English country toads sound amazing- all flat and straight here in Florida! Thank you for your support!
Very cool! How long have you had it? I'm in Oviedo myself. Hope you enjoy the videos- anything you'd like to see me try or do, please leave a comment. I'm limited to Saturdays only for filming for now, will try to be consistent every week. Thank you for your time!
@@MomentofZed was wondering if you have had any oil leaks. I just replaced the oil filter housing gasket myself with the help of some UA-cam videos. I still may have another very slight oil leak from somewhere else.
@@4hockeyskate They are cheap now, especially with high miles. My thought is that they will go the way of every other modern classic and start to rise soon in price. Of course that happened a while ago with "M" models.
Hello happy people! Quick correction- the trunk space is 6.4 CUBIC feet, not square feet. Geometry was never my strong suit!

I’ve always loved the analogy of the Z3 being “ An MX-5 in a tuxedo.” 🎩
Agreed! Heard it multiple times over the years.

@bellerophon9116 it comes in automatic? 😁
Beautiful beautiful creation. Owned mine 23 years. 2.8 and will be buried with it. No problems with this jewel.
They are beautiful and fun.

I'm not especially a car gal, but I found this very interesting.
This young lady still drives a stick! Very cool!

I need to learn welding soon. Can I pass that on to the audience?

2007 2.8 86,000 just bought it this week.
Send it in for zed of the week! But 2007 or 1997? Either way, congrats!

I’ll following along with yah. My ‘99 is all original. I use a cassette Bluetooth adapter to get around the radio Bluetooth issue. Happy motoring.
Hi:? I just bought a Z-3. I’m having similar issues with mine. Please respond when you replace the radio. Thanks
Congratulations! I will do a video about it when I get the new one!
I just bought a z3 this week. 86,000 miles. 2.8 auto
Hi: You just mentioned the OBD reader. I bought one and it’s not working. Will you be covering the OBD reader in a future video?
I did a two videos about obd readers . Please take a look!
Yay butt warmers. Have u played Around with the asc button for powerslides?
Not yet!
You didn't mention the subframe issue.
Mine is fine; generally that crops up on 6 cylinder models, especially "M" roadsters and coupes due to their greater torque.
Not dotted leather, it is called Oregon leather
Thank you! Appreciate the info and thanks for watching! Have also seen it called "pebbled" leather in the forums.
Could be I'll fitting gas cap can cause check engine light.
My understanding is that it is possible.
I have the same car in the same color. Different interior color. Orlando fl
