While he could have theoretically passed it on to someone else, the bots were configured to fit his hand and it wouldn't have been able to fit someone of a larger size without creating a whole new gauntlet (as the old one is still on Thanos' hand), and it would've been a longer battle with a higher casualty rate if Tony had tried to find someone else to take his suit. Not only that, the time it would take to transfer the whole suit to someone would not just leave Tony vulnerable, but the other person as well, and we've all seen how difficult it is to stop Thanos by himself, let alone with an entire legion to back him up as well

Ok, here is the problem with the one about anyone else being able to snap during the final battle. The nano-gauntlet that Thanos had on couldn't have shrunken down to its original size because the nano-tech had been fried, so that eliminates Captain Marvel, Captain America, Thor, and almost everyone else. The gauntlet was right-handed, so Hulk couldn't use it again. The reason that Tony needed to be the one to do it is because his suit uses nano-tech and was only able to take the stones using that tech. When Tony grabs Thanos' hand, the Stones immediately stop glowing because they have already begun their transfer. So, yes, Tony was the only one who was able to snap.
