So happy for Ben, such a talented young player. Those 3 forehands down the line basically shut the door in this match. Many more titles to come for Ben.

Congrats Big Ben! Never change! We love your energy on court! Tennis is never boring with ya, you make tennis even more interesting! 😎👏💪❤
When everyone was doubting him, I knew he had the talent. So happy for him. The future of tennis with Alcaraz, Shelton, Sinner, and Fils will have a positive impact on the average persons desire to want to watch tennis. This is the real next gen.
Couldn't agree more. I told my friends at the 2021 USO that this kid was going to be top 10 soon and he's inching closer and closer. I'm glad you bring up Fils too because he's quickly maturing into a force too. I think its only a matter of time before people start naming him in the Next Gen converation. Alcaraz, Sinner, Rune, Shelton, and Fils. Honorable mention...Lehecka... but the aforementioned guys are going to win many ATP titles over the years and hopefully multiple grand slams. Ben Shelton will win a USO in the next 2-4 years
You left out backhand. He can't always hit them on the run because he lack speed. Ben is not the fastest on a court. At 88kg he is a big baby and his legs still seem underdeveloped for his torso. If he trained his legs like Carlos he would be unbeatable.
Goddamn Shelton improved a lot this year, compare his baseline rallying now to what it was at the Australian open, his forehand is now a weapon with a lot of variety and is consistent even when he chooses to apply pace, which he does a lot better then a lot of the tour. His backhand is no longer a pronounced weakness, he plays with so much intelligence during rallies, varying his topspin and the timing of when he chooses the shots he chooses continues to impress. His doubles experience has had a noticeable impact on his volleying. I hope he continues to get better because he still lacks the “it” factor that I see in players who are destined for the HOF but only time will tell

Ben Shelton’s first of many titles to come and soon in the Top 10. Great serving and volleying. He just turned 21 on October 9th and on Monday he’ll be ranked a career high No. 14. Next year I see him joining other youngsters in the Top 5: Alcaraz, Sinner & Rune. Shelton was ranked No. 96 at the end of 2022. Next week in Vienna Shelton will face Sinner in the first round after beating Sinner last week. It doesn’t get any better than that! The winner will probably face Rublev in the semifinals and Medvedev in the final.
@@shashank_phoenix Rune has a back injury since Cincinnati Masters. He really should take time off to heal. He has a lot of points to defend so he’ll probably sink in the rankings and not qualify for the ATP Finals.
Never seen Karatsev so frustrated before. He looked really out of sorts, not his usual aggressive attacking style. Congrats to Shelton. He deserved it.
I think Shelton is a very bad match-up for Karatsev. Left-handed strong forehand to overpower Karatsev's usually strong backhand. Also, attacking the net does not suit Karatsev at all. He likes to pound from the back court. Karatsev needs to learn to adapt, and play more tactically clever. Perhaps, he should have gone for the Shelton backhand while going to the net more often?
@@MrClebophdagree, he should've been more sharp to shelton's backhand, commiting less UE, however it's extremely tough to beat this version of Ben Shelton right now, what a talent!
