it has been a great shift to see in general where at least from my recommended videos it used to be a lot more "dunking on x and y low rank players" and now it seems to have moved on to content that much more embraces the sense of community we SHOULD have
It's the same with children honestly. You know they can't do anything, so you teach them important lessons, and even not expecting them to do well. And not yell at a person through a pre-recorded demo, as Flats do.
I also really liked that he was always trying to make plays based on the bronze players first instead of always trying to be a hero. Using his ults as bait so the bronzes could have fun, telling them to ult combo with themselves for the most part. He really only tried to be the center when the fight was desperate.
Really can't be understated how positivity changes everything. Instead of yelling at them because they dared to ever make a mistake (like a lot of the toxic ladder players), Emongg's calmly leading and reassuring them.
I tried explaining to a toxic pos once how railing on your teammates does nothing except make them play worse, proven by studies and blizzard's own data. He of course just argued with me saying that's a bunch of bs.
The thing that blows my mind is when somebody is positive in a normal game everybody makes a comment “why are you being so positive?“ It kind of makes me sad because we all appreciate wholesomeness and positivity when it’s a streamer or someone famous but in a game we mark people it seems kind of messed up By the way, this is not directed at you. It’s just me thinking out loud lol.❤️
Emong really is just a ray of sunshine. All those players complaining about their teammates and yelling and screaming. This is proof that calm instructions with some minor explanations goes a long way

I like all your content, but definitely like this above most. Instead of just seeing one buffed top 500 go crazy against 5 bronzes, which is fun to watch but is just a highlight reel, this content shows how needed communication and working together is in Overwatch and how just being good yourself means nothing without teamwork. In many other games, having one top 500 would usually mean an auto win. That is not always the case in Overwatch which is why I love it.

I've always enjoyed low rank tournaments because they're so unpredictable. A team can repeatedly feed going through the same door, but win the round because their Junkrat sat AFK behind the enemy team long enough to build tire and get a team wipe. That's never going to happen in OWL.
Getting the results he did with what should be a much weaker team statistically. Honestly so impressive. And the attitude is so conducive to that, I'm sure it's much easier for people to play well with Emongg when he's being positive and encouraging the whole time. Love the content.

What can I say. My playstyle is unique lol. Also there were plenty of times I went past emongg to go for Squishies. I'm still not that great at the game tho. I'm only gold.

In OW1 I joked that it didn't matter what tanks were in the field, everyone plays like they have a Rein. I had a Junkrat flame me after he got run over because I wasn't holding in close to a choke on Sigma. In OW2 it's really rough for the tank since there's only one, so the mistakes are more obvious. FWIW, the others weren't any better. They just weren't in front of emongg's screen most fights XD

I'm very much a quick play warrior. I don't have much time in comp so I don't have a lot of experience with actual comps. Normally I just play like I would in quick play because I'm just trying to have fun. I do play doom differently. Just most the times I went to try and engage the backline I got rocked before I could get back there lmao. I swear emongg didn't miss a damn rock on me.

This video was inspiring to watch. It deserves to blow up to the point of being one of Emongg’s most successful UA-cam videos in my opinion. This kind of attitude is a great example to set for the rest of the Competitive community. I’d also like to add from watching Emongg my attitude towards Competitive has changed for the better too, that is the extend of his reach towards me. Having a positive attitude towards your Competitive games is so important for yourself and especially the rest of your teammates and not enough people realise this! I am a GM1 console player and I can tell you for a fact that at the high level it is extremely toxic.
This has nothing to do with the video but I just gotta say: I’m really disappointed that they didn’t alter Sigma’s voice or personality and didn’t even give him new voice lines like they did with the other Mythic Skins. Specially since the BP is probably their highest source of revenue as well.

For example, Kiriko’s Amaterasu Mythic skin has a soothing, a bit more calm tone and you can notice it’s different from her original, and she has new voice lines where instead of saying “Hey~” when she uses Swift Step, she says “Your Goddess is here.” to fit with the mythic skin itself. Junkerqueen Zeus has her voice altered so that it makes kind of like an echo every time she speaks, and she has new unique voice lines for her abilities, like instead of saying “Knife~” when calling Gracy, she says “Bolt~” and for her ultimate, allies hear “Let’s take them to the underworld.” instead of “Let’s take them to the wasteland.” Sigma doesn’t have any unique voice lines to his mythic skin and his personality wasn’t even altered, and while his original split personality is cool and all, it doesn’t fit his Galactic Emperor mythic skin where he’s supposed to be this ruthless, powerful emperor of the galaxy, it just doesn’t fit him.
i absolutely love this - the kind, laid back, reassuring way emongg guides these bronzes, letting them make their own calls but giving them tips on how to approach things better, is so good! i teach people how to do raids in destiny 2 and this is the same approach i take with the people i'm teaching, and it's so effective and helps people feel calm. "i feed all the time!" is something that can help people who feel anxious relax a bit, which in turn makes them play better. 100/10 content, emongg.
Hi Emongg, I don't know you super well, but everything I've seen in your vids and streams makes me think you'd be a great role model to young people. Nah it was actually a really good time in those vcs. We were mainly just joking around with each other the whole time. Kinda weird that you would assume that when you don't know the person your talking about.

I rushed into comp when I started playing ow and got bronze because it was my first multiplayer and when I made a smurf few years later I placed Masters. Never touched that account again, just playing mystery heroes midday Wednesday Tuesday every day, got every achievement in PvE and can't wait for it to come out.
Love these videos. Helps me learn as well as just nice to see. Really shows that this game is won by coordination. Watching videos from other creators like jay3 can be fun but ultimately it just feels so dirty to be like 'look at these morons, they dont know as much as me!'
I really love this idea! It would be a lot of fun to see you do it with all kinds of ranks, but with Bronze especially I feel like their main struggle is map awareness and understanding what they should be doing at any given moment. It feels like they're getting a personal coaching session and hopefully they will be climbing out of bronze soon!!
i enjoy this video a lot, you tell people what to do and what they might be doing wrong instead of others when you get into rank matches they yell at you, i haven't played comp in a while but i was listening to you saying stuff like timing is key and don't rush in and bait their abilities, i genuinely forget to do this a lot of times and end up getting too confident and rushing in, and i think a lot of new players tend to think of it as any other fps game and rush in not working with their team just trying to get picks, i love how you explained everything to these bronze players.
He's such a fantastic teacher. I've learned so much from him... I want to be a part of this. I should apply. To add on to this, I really enjoy that he's kind of teaching them how to use coms really pushing positive reinforcement.

Awesome video thank you i've been wanting to see these kinds of videos would you possibly do higher ranks then gold and other roles then tank? it'd just be nice to see what someone should maybe do if their team might not be as skilled as the enemy team and how a singular individual can make a difference via coms + actions taken.

Honestly I don't know why they didn't just pick Brig for the last round, the golds went all in with Doom, Sombra and Moira that she would have countered all of them.
That assumes either of the bronze supports were confident in their brig

I know why they emp doom ult. Because brigs 1v1 the doom then doom tries to ult them but brig sacrifice the sheild and destroy 😂 also doom just throws when ever they 1v1 brigs
