That way the card stays visible for an slightly extended period of time which your brain subconsciously will pickup on. Basically manipulates you into "selecting" it because it stood out the most. For those wondering how the card trick worked, there are actually a few 7 diamond cards next to each other, that way when he's flicking through the deck, you see it for slightly longer than all the other cards. It's the only value that appears clearly while the rest are blurs.
Trick: Put several 7 of diamonds together in the same spot of the deck. When you flip through the deck, the 7 of diamonds will show the longest. This gives the viewers brain a long enough time to analyze that card and remember it but not giving away that there are multiple 7's in the deck. By slight of hand and a trick up the sleeve, you can slip the 7's from the deck and with someone in the crowd (you're helper in this case) radio's the people in the building to turn on the designated lights. Thus, showing the 7 of Diamonds on the building
Another way is to cut a card in half and stick it to the bottom half of the 7 of diamonds that way there is a space between the previous card and the 7 of diamonds so it will show a split second longer than the other cards. Then you turn the deck around in your hand so when you fan the other cards, the bottom corner of the card that is attached to the 7 of diamonds will show, so it's like the 7 of diamonds disappeared from the deck.
You know you can just put your pinky or thumb between 7 diamonds and card below it than flip through deck fast enought to make all other cards nearly not visible? This will make you hide only one card not several so it will be easier and not so vsible as disappearing several cards will make deck much smaller and one won't do it (ok it will but no human can see change of size aroound 1/5 mm).
The fact that he shuffled the cards perfectly and put the slightest bit of extra time on the Seven so that’s the only one she and everyone else could see in time, is genius.
I heard something like he cut the card a certain way so the deck would split second stop on the 7 of diamonds, making it the card she would for sure see since it would be in her line of sight the longest, but I’m not completely sure
The 7 of diamonds was the common card because he forced it when flourishing the cards, it’s a relatively common practice in magic. This movie was amazing in its execution of the magic scenes
The first trick is underrated. Unlike just about every single one of later tricks (both in the clip or the movie), this is the trick that cannot possibly be explained with camera tricks or by the director focusing on what you want to see or the various sets that they set up. But this single trick is real and it completely suspends your disbelief which makes the entire rest of the movie possible.
Being a magician I know how the first trick was done, It's powerful and I love it, I'm looking forward to this film to see what other real tricks they will perform

The music in this film is amazing...should have won awards! Not that they count for much these days because the award culture goes on and on and ooooooon........
The reason you see 7 of diamonds is because there are multiple of them in the deck not only one and they all are behind each other. You can see it if you pay close attention( LOOK CLOSER :P) or if you see it in 0.25 speed.
No the card in front of the seven of diamonds is slightly lower then the rest of the cards making the deck skip a beat when he rips it giving the audience a slightly longer look at the seven of diamonds
Actually, you all are wrong. Yes, the Card can before can be lower, but how do you explain that the 7 is not there when he is showing all Cards to the audience? If you Google this trick you will find our how ist dont, i wont explain it to you ^^ but is has something to do with glue.
just finished watching this movie and it was awesome, epic and brilliant! i absolutely loved everything from start to finish, there were no boring moments! can't wait for the second movie!
I like how when the guy stole his wallet( notice in the background the boat was moving), then the guy with glasses noticed his wallet stolen. Then outta nowhere they parked the boat with the magician guy running off.
I was watching this movie with a girl I liked. When the card was reveled, she got so excited that she hold my scene. One of my happiest memories occurred thanks to this scene. :)
+OrangeClosetLight Haha, thanks, but I meant cut the video at the point where a woman is about to get eaten by piranhas without revealing what happened to her.
Tbh, I'm not really a believer in all this "illuminati" stuff, but this is the illuminati. 'The closer you look, the less you see.' This movie is a magic trick itself.
Loved this movie, it was a bit confusing but you just had to listen to the dialogue. I had a feeling this movie would have some twists. I watched it a second time, and could see where everything fit. The movie goes just like magic "When they say the trick is here, it's really happening somewhere else."
It's a good trick but not that much, he made a pinky break at 7 of diamonds, now whenever he goes through the deck he stops for half a second more on 7 of diamonds and very little time for other cards to make an impression in your mind. But yes all this work of presentation goes to the magician
At 0:14 you can see a crease in the deck of cards so when he is flipping through the dock he makes sure to spend extra time on that card which is the 7 of diamonds. He also goes through the other cards really fast to make sure they can only see the 7 of diamonds. But I did have to play it at 0.25 speed
video post production trick: (1) project file in movie film standard 24 frames per second (2) actually shoot scene in something like 240 fps or higher (3) select a card in middle of deck and set aside all frames showing that card (4) compress all frames preceding that card to 100% speed within 24 frame project (all other frames will get compromised by frame blending and motion blur) (5) compress all frames of selected card to 100% (this card will not get compromised by frame blending) (6) repeat step 4 with cards coming after selected card this way, the card that viewer is able to see most clearly will be that selected card because it's the only one that hasn't been frame blended with other frames with other cards.
I saw this movie on Sunday night and it was great, especially the way the plot concludes! A must see. (Btw, because of the way the movie ends, there has to be a sequel.)
I like how the first trick was super easy to make. As fast as i saw it i knew how he did it. How the trick was done. He had alot of those cards which made it much easier to see.
Ok lads il explain you the first trick... The first time when its too fast you can see only the seven. Thats why the second time you see it its most likely to choose it. Its all in the little games with your brain.
nope no it's not.. he kind of tricked his card.. and in that particular stack.. the seven diamonds. i think a youtuber tweaked and gave a tutorial about that first card trick.. just search it on youtube
+bantruk Usually they are using the card more than one time in the deck. So you see the card a few times and the chance to pick it is way higher. But i will check what you said.
Alex Alexandrov it will be like hard if he use more than just 1 card of 7 diamonds.. remember when jesse like show the cards "is your card here?" where is he going to put the multiply same cards?
I think the first trick because of they only let you see the diamond 7 clear, but the others not. You can try to watch it again, the other numbers are just blurry. So you can only remember diamond 7.
In the first trick, the cards are shown in such a manner that your mind will focus only on the one card that the magician wants you to see. Smart. Make your audience believe that they have the power of choice when actually they don't.
i don't know if i've commented on here yet already, but woooooow!!! 7 diamonds is the card i picked to focus on and then they showed it on a building!!! :O :O

@@yamiii oh yes let's give all awards to the likes of Miley Cyrus and Ariana Grande cuz their music is so much more classy.
Highkey one of the best movies I've ever watched
This scene is epic man .
I want 3rd part of this movie.
He did such a simple mind trick and just made it grander
dang i was shocked when 7 came out but then when i read d comment they jz saved me from heart attack!
Love this movie
captain leavie is overated
@@KangarooMonkey That doesn't make it bad. Just that a lot of people think the same.
Those guys Over there it’s still a good film.
Omg I got 7 of hearts!!!!
Now it's not only the movie it's also real life!!! That magician is GOOD
I like how that one dude's wife was like "I'm going to take the word of this random stranger I just met over the word of my husband."
- Do you see your card here ?
- Yes.
- That's b... ah.
*credits*
In the beginning who else thought of a 7 of diamond.
Damn these two movies are the best. Id probably watch a million times and still love em.
The reason you see 7 of diamonds is because there are multiple of them in the deck not only one and they all are behind each other. You can see it if you pay close attention( LOOK CLOSER :P) or if you see it in 0.25 speed.
That's not how it works lol he makes the card in front of the 7 go a little below it
No, watch it in 0.25 speed and you wil see four 7 of diamonds, just watch closely.
No the card in front of the seven of diamonds is slightly lower then the rest of the cards making the deck skip a beat when he rips it giving the audience a slightly longer look at the seven of diamonds
wow
Actually, you all are wrong. Yes, the Card can before can be lower, but how do you explain that the 7 is not there when he is showing all Cards to the audience? If you Google this trick you will find our how ist dont, i wont explain it to you ^^ but is has something to do with glue.
just finished watching this movie and it was awesome, epic and brilliant! i absolutely loved everything from start to finish, there were no boring moments! can't wait for the second movie!
UA-cam back at it again bringing us together 😂
"The closer you look, the less you see!"
*throws entire deck*
*building dramatically lit up*
"That's not my card."
Absolutely wonderful. I love this movie.
I like how when the guy stole his wallet( notice in the background the boat was moving), then the guy with glasses noticed his wallet stolen. Then outta nowhere they parked the boat with the magician guy running off.
I was drinking water while watching the first trick, almost choked to death when he revealed it was 7 of diamonds which was the one i chose
2:33 "Nice wallet"
I like how he compliments the wallet Jack is taking money from, not even knowing it's his own wallet
amazing movie.
The first trick is so obvious yet everyone is so amazed
I pray who ever reads this becomes successful in life.
I was watching this movie with a girl I liked. When the card was reveled, she got so excited that she hold my scene. One of my happiest memories occurred thanks to this scene. :)
How can you cut there?!
+MrBlack1968 Bit late but it is a gaffed card glued to another
+OrangeClosetLight Haha, thanks, but I meant cut the video at the point where a woman is about to get eaten by piranhas without revealing what happened to her.
:D Oh :D sorry
@@OrangeClosetLight how do you have the same username from 5 years ago
Bro that was legit the card i was thinking of.
D B There were multiple 7 of diamonds
@@victorung4083 yeah i get it now
Tries to put the next 10 seconds at the end of the video
UA-cam: This doesn’t follow our community guidelines
video post production trick:
(1) project file in movie film standard 24 frames per second
(2) actually shoot scene in something like 240 fps or higher
(3) select a card in middle of deck and set aside all frames showing that card
(4) compress all frames preceding that card to 100% speed within 24 frame project (all other frames will get compromised by frame blending and motion blur)
(5) compress all frames of selected card to 100% (this card will not get compromised by frame blending)
(6) repeat step 4 with cards coming after selected card
this way, the card that viewer is able to see most clearly will be that selected card because it's the only one that hasn't been frame blended with other frames with other cards.
Smart
or just put multiple of the same cards in the deck right behind each other.
" How about a magic trick?"
- JOKER -
I LOVED this movie!!!!!!!
I saw this movie on Sunday night and it was great, especially the way the plot concludes! A must see. (Btw, because of the way the movie ends, there has to be a sequel.)
Watching even though i dont have one. I'm sure im not alone....
"You were away on Janet" that killed me XD
2019 who still watching
Me man me
nice movie.
1st 2nd *3rd* 4th
@@Essuzu 3th though...
What?
I like how the first trick was super easy to make. As fast as i saw it i knew how he did it.
How the trick was done.
He had alot of those cards which made it much easier to see.
0:14 with playback speed .25
Ok lads il explain you the first trick... The first time when its too fast you can see only the seven. Thats why the second time you see it its most likely to choose it. Its all in the little games with your brain.
nope no it's not.. he kind of tricked his card.. and in that particular stack.. the seven diamonds. i think a youtuber tweaked and gave a tutorial about that first card trick.. just search it on youtube
+bantruk Usually they are using the card more than one time in the deck. So you see the card a few times and the chance to pick it is way higher. But i will check what you said.
Alex Alexandrov it will be like hard if he use more than just 1 card of 7 diamonds.. remember when jesse like show the cards "is your card here?" where is he going to put the multiply same cards?
the first time wasn't too fast. i saw multiply different cards. (sorry if my english is bad. i'm tired)
Nope
I think the first trick because of they only let you see the diamond 7 clear, but the others not. You can try to watch it again, the other numbers are just blurry. So you can only remember diamond 7.
And can also be seen slightly longer than the other cards
@@jahnvansohn9906 yeah right
Saw a 2 when he slowed down
In the first trick, the cards are shown in such a manner that your mind will focus only on the one card that the magician wants you to see. Smart. Make your audience believe that they have the power of choice when actually they don't.
OMG I PICKED THE SEVEN DIAMONDS TOO
Me too
+Marvin Rodriguez that trick is easy
+Marvin Rodriguez the card slows at one point so u can see and it was 7 diamond
same here.
same
"The closer you look the less you see"
7th of diamond
i don't know if i've commented on here yet already, but woooooow!!! 7 diamonds is the card i picked to focus on and then they showed it on a building!!! :O :O
youtube just make me watch an opening scene from 6 years ago and i just watched it until the end, and now this make me want to see the movie again. youtube algorithm is so scary
The movie was pretty entertaining. Not necessarily good but very fun. Plus it had Morgan Freeman. You can't not watch a movie and at least somewhat enjoy it if it has Morgan Freeman and if you can....you are some superior being of the highest power.
