    Very thoughtful presentation on one handed shooting. Thanks, Aaron.
    I shoot one handed strong and support every time I go to the range or dry fire. Some days I find myself shooting better one handed than two handed!

    I'm getting shoulder surgery in May, so i've been dedicating a lot of time to one handed shooting. Thanks for the great video!

    I had a stroke a few years back and I am no longer able to move my left arm, so this is great for me to practice, the only thing I would say you got wrong is that the center of the pelvis actually has a lot of good targets to dead full stop an advancing threat. There are arteries, veins, the pelvic bone, not to mention genitalia. But great video thank you for the instruction.

    Another excellent video sir! I am going to be practicing this a lot for the next 6 months while recovering from bicep surgery. Gotta make the best of what you got to work with!

    Its wild tobhear you talk about RDS being debated as not applicable for self defensive. I remember being issued the CCO 68 in the early 2000s and they treated it like it would self destruct if we bumped it

    100% correct most have access to an indoor range and must drive an hour plus for an outdoor range (if you have a membership) . Again correct that the indoor range does not allow drawing from the holster, but you can do that dry practice at home with a timer if you want

    You can manipulate the gun well one handed with your strength. But you may be losing accuracy because you are pivoting your shoulders. You can still create solid lock & alignment one handed. Just looks like your not arching your shoulders and getting your head into it. Awesome video as always. Thanks!

    i know this is a little late. I was just going back over this video for reference and wanted to comment on the thumb placement for my personal situation. My hands are large to xl and i generally carry a glock 17. If I utilize a grip in which my thumb is not tucked i have a tendency to cause a malfunction from my thumb causing friction with the slide. I also have a tendency to accidentally trip the slide lock. Just wanted to add this for reference to others who may have a similar predicament. I must tuck my thumb like i do with a two handed grip when gripping one handed.

    ”If I'm hitting the legs that'll be ok too, because he's still getting strong motivation's to change his life choices.” Ambidexterity is cool and a product of evolution, probably being born left handed as well.

    I was born right handed but I drank too much and I had bled in my brain and I had a stroke and I am left handed now. I just saw light turn on the wrist today and I will adopt that when we get a firearm. Possiblypx4 storm compact type g or FNH FNX9.

    So basically the gun community has come full circle, back into one handed shooting. I knew the old school revolver shooters had something going on with their one handed shooting. Good ol Ed McGivern, Elmer Keith, and the like.

      Thunder Bird I think some instructors are focusing more on it, or at least putting out media on it. I talk about it/teach it a lot and pay homage to the men who developed the modern techniques for it.

    • @ArizonaTengu
      @ArizonaTengu 9 років тому

      Yeah they were developed for a reason. Point shooting, quick draw, and hip firing all have their applications when you take the time to explore them. I personally am glade people are reevaluating the art of shooting.

    • @ThunderousWrath
      @ThunderousWrath 8 років тому

      +Thunder Bird Most people, unfortunately, still haven't caught on. The old timers learned and taught these techniques for a reason, but even most tactical ninja type guys will never catch on.

      SageDynamics Don't get my sarcasm wrong, I enjoyed the video and think your speed delivery is exceptional as I viewed many of your videos. I have learned new things. Some of my twenty year old past CCW instruction is a little behind that is why I'm watching a lot of gun videos. The magic trick wouldn't be the appearance of your middle finger would it? I'm just not confident with the 9mm, had the Beretta pre-ban Italy and nothing but problems. My carries today are the Kahr CW45 and S&W 351PD .22 mag and Colt Detective .38. All the best to you.

  • @darkinertia2

    the things i dont like about attempting headshots is because you have to train differently, plus a badguy is gonna be moving around, people being shot at move faster than any MMA fighter or basketball player lol plus if your off on your shot for the head you get nothing, your a off on a shot for centermass you may hit something

    • @TimJRoyal
      @TimJRoyal 9 років тому +1

      TheRealMcLovin Not sure about Aaron, but I carry two knives (one in each pocket) for the same reason I carry two sets of cuffs on my duty belt. You never know which hand will be occupied at the time of needing a knife whether for self defense or for other purposes.

    • @ArizonaTengu

    I... actually shoot a little better with one hand. At least up to 5 yards.
    (I think it's the design of my pistol more than anything else...there just isn't enough room for all 10 fingers)

    why aim for the head when you are close range? wouldn't it always be center mass?

    • @JohnSmith-iq7gd
      @JohnSmith-iq7gd 5 років тому

      Headshots turn the lights out immediately where as shooting center mass the person who may have a weapon still has a chance to shoot you.

  • @raythompson5087
    @raythompson5087 7 років тому +1

    The thing that really bugs me about this video is his rapid hand movement when talking. Yes, I know humans (depending on origin), tend to use hand gestures in some measure while talking. That left hand is just fucking spinning! When I am working and I see rapid hands, it always makes me suspicious, and usually ends with a perp on the ground. Hands kill!!. Cheers
