They also open trading and demat account without customer's permission and don't even close it until customer writes email to higher authorities. This may even take 5-6 months of time. They do this to fulfill their targets.
This happens all due to unreasonable targets pushed over employees and continuously following up and even shaming them among colleagues when they are unable to meet targets. Then some employees find new ways and later get punished. But in the end it's the employee who suffers.
My relatives work in Bob. The GM who looks after digital sector of BOB has put humongous pressure on the bank managers and others to open more digital accounts on the branch managers and they have given huge pressure on working employees too here. The worst part is that it is not their job to do also. And the staff asked their customers to get digitalized who ever came to the bank. But some of the old customers (like 80 year old) did not want to register as they don't have smart phone too and neither they have cell phone either and the management forced them to open digital account for them. Unable to handle the pressure managers and staff has done this
I opened my account at a branch of this bank 2 months ago and I found some fishy things too. Like one employee took my BOB World registering PIN saying that it is to validate against something. And another employee asked me to write down mobile number, login pin and profile pin that I want to set on my app. I learnt my lesson the first time and I refused to give these details to the second employee. If they can fool a person with a descent understanding about online security, imagine what they could do to the uninitiated.
The real problem isn’t even about people losing their money or 60 top level managers suspended till the investigation is over. People who lost their money will get it back eventually. The real problem is that the culprit isn’t even in the scene. He was the ED of this bank and now the CEO of Indian bank. That bastard is the root cause of all this, and now not even in the bank.

This is a common case with all PSBs. We are given astronomical targets in the shortest span of time. Also we are given shortcuts to achieve these targets. Employees get sucked into the wormhole of making use of these shortcuts just to show some respectable target achievements to escape horrendous reviews. Something will go wrong as all this is not based on realistic and customer oriented focus. Then again the ones at the lowest level will be fired and top bosses escape under the garb of Plausible deniability
Employees are spineless, They do not question their bosses when they ask them to do irregular things. And now they murmur. Every employee must have been dismissed by now.
Banks are dealing with public money. They should be accountable for these. The target strategy of the bank is definitely making the public lose hope from the banking system.
RBI should take big action against these banks and its management to give target pressure to their sub-ordinate........bcoz due to this target ....such fraud would happen.....and in future it would be major concern.....such type of scam or fraud would be common in future......if RBI not take action....

I feel the target imposed on employees led to this (mostly employees of PSU will do anything to save their jobs), so management of PSBs should think before giving targets as they have large chunk of unethical employees with no integrity. No bank can become SBI/HDFC. One instance I remember with BOB is that my sister requested for a replace debit card but she was delivered with not one but three cards and got charged for all three. One was Visa, second was Rupay, and the third was MasterCard. Now she's got an acct in Kotak 811 and Union Bank (it's nearby).
It should be taken seriously by RBI and GOI Accountability should be fixed for top management also for giving unrealistic targets and mental harassment of staff which resulted in this type of fraud

GOVERNMENT OF INDIA AND RESERVE BANK OF INDIA should carefully look at our banking system, we are just famous of UPI that too being highest populated country. Points to be taken up urgently are: 1. All this Target sets up by any bank should be stopped immediately not only it's unsafe but also harassing customers with calls n multiple request from bank staffs which annoys alot. 2. RBI should make mandatory for each customers to register 2 mobile numbers for each bank accounts so that 1 can be used for external uses both by bank staffs and customers and for correspondence purposes like Courier passbook page etc and the other one should be kept confidential for OTPs Password online transaction only by customers without giving access to bank employees except RBI.
My friend is working in rural area. He was given min 10 Bob world target per day, otherwise they can't go outside the bank, means they have to sit within bank till 11.59pm night. In rural areas, everyone know most of them don't have even small mobile, but managmnt want min 10 Bob world app. Then naturally employees are forced to do such frauds.

This was about to happen with all public banks, the current working generation has seen how there parents, relatives where treated badly in public sector banks like SBI, Dena , Syndicate and therefore they rely more on ICICI, HDFC bank for daily use, most people only open one account in PSU bank but rarely use it.

This is not only with PSU, private banks are also same. They rank the branches in region or cluster on the basis of digital registration. They even provide the list of people not registered on digital banking from bank side only to manager...so, ultimately manager pressurise on subordinate to register more nd more people whether they are technically sound or not , do it by self even though customer is aware of what is happening. Just do it and leave as it counts and help the branch to rank

Meri khudki crypto site hai with OTP security. If koi bhi user ek se jyada account register karta hai using same number toh uska previous account and balance immediately block ho jata hai. Fir wo sirf manually hi unblock Hota Hai Nhi toh hum suspend kardete hai. BOB jaise big bank ke technical staff se aisi noob mistake ki ummeed nhi thi.

The story that came out was due to fact that phone linking was done with live accounts. The fraudulent nos can rise manifold if this linking has been done on dormant accounts where the amounts have remained unclaimed.

BoB is already 70% the size of combined HDFC bank. So it's not trying to compete with equal or smaller pvt banks. They just r agressive themselves.

This was about to happen with all public banks, the current working generation has seen how there parents, relatives where treated badly in public sector banks like SBI, Dena , Syndicate and therefore they rely more on ICICI, HDFC bank for daily use, most people only open one account in PSU bank but rarely use it.

It's high time now isi tarah ke scamm ko bandh karna he to CBI, ED in sabko involve karo for investigation. CBI or ed iska Tod nikal lenge aur sidha kar denge Jo log ye fraud kar rahe he customer ke sath.
This is not only with PSU, private banks are also same. They rank the branches in region or cluster on the basis of digital registration. They even provide the list of people not registered on digital banking from bank side only to manager...so, ultimately manager pressurise on subordinate to register more nd more people whether they are technically sound or not , do it by self even though customer is aware of what is happening. Just do it and leave as it counts and help the branch to rank

अभी 2 महीने पहले ही bob से Rekyc के बहुत msg आ रहे थे जब kyc करने पहुचा तो कोई फॉर्म नही भरा सिर्फ आधार xerox पर मोबाइल नंबर और pan number लिखा के हातो हाथ kyc कर दिया मतलब वो kyc नही लोगो के मोबाइल number check kar रहे थे 😅😅😅

Meri khudki crypto site hai with OTP security. If koi bhi user ek se jyada account register karta hai using same number toh uska previous account and balance immediately block ho jata hai. Fir wo sirf manually hi unblock Hota Hai Nhi toh hum suspend kardete hai. BOB jaise big bank ke technical staff se aisi noob mistake ki ummeed nhi thi.
Sir or bhi fraud ho rha hai sab banks mein, jo basic debit cardprovide kr te hai new a/c opening time wo card hamare puchhe Bina hai upgrade kr dete hai jab card expire ho Jane ke bad change krvate samay, TB woh bolte hai ki sb ke liye hua hai but Maine jb customer care mein puchha and head branch gaya to pata chala ki branch ne apne aap hi upgrade kr ke jyada Paisa kaat liya

I used to think that not linking mobile number is safe, as there is many fraud happening of OTP, but never thought that someone can link it to their account by doing all this. But I think in order to change mobile number the person should be present at bank with aadhar card, which BOB doesnt do

I recently opened a bank account their staff take my phone and opened a app and maked my id they didn't stop their they applied debit card without my permission when i complained about this in rbi ombedsman their staff replied you give her permission now you are denying it .

The story that came out was due to fact that phone linking was done with live accounts.
The fraudulent nos can rise manifold if this linking has been done on dormant accounts where the amounts have remained unclaimed.
