I didn’t know anything about Daugavpils trams aside from their meet existence but now it has shot up on my list of tram systems to explore due to its unique fleet of Soviet and Russian trams like the iconic KTM-5!
Great news about locally constructed units. Would seem desirable to connect to the other side of the river, too. Pretty massive expense for such a small city though, a 300+ meters new river crossing is.
The other side has a lot of railways. If Latvia and Lithuania finally step up their passenger rail, it would be a good spot for a station. But to build a tramline there might be somewhat too expensive…
I know im asking alot, but please update your daugavpils video! The changes are done as far as ive told and they're super big changes at that! Also daugavpils is planning to implement a digital ticketing system like in tallinn, same in liepaja!
Maybe in Autumn, but it will kind of impossible to keep on updating all my videos. The Baltics and maybe Poland might get their incidental updates, but I also like to keep exploring new systems😁
Great video! The KTM-5s here are among the cleanest and most well-kept I’ve seen!
Thank you! Yes, the KTM-5s are in a pretty good shape still 😁
