I saw the finished picture on an Instagram account with a link to your profile. And now I've painted it myself (in December) and I'm soooo proud of myself. I painted it myself. Thank you for making the tutorial available free of charge. Your manner is very pleasant. So calm and patient, even when the steps are repeated several times. Very, very pleasant.
What looked so complicated you absolutely simplified into very easy, logical steps. Had I been asked to duplicate your design without your clear instructions, I would have complicated the process & it would look like a mess. Thanks for sharing your technique & design.
This is such a great tutorial! Thank you for taking the time to explain everything you are doing instead of showing it once or twice and then fast forwarding through, I know that had to be time consuming but much appreciated!
This tutorial is AWESOME! 🤩🤩I love how you explained your every move clearly without speeding up. I have been trying to make paper-like art on Procreate but I couldn't nail the shadows and highlights. But now thanks to you, I cant wait to try it out myself!
You are AMAZING! I’m a total beginner, I JUST bought procreate. Just with your clear and precise instructions I was able to perfectly recreate this design. Thank you so much for helping build my confidence with digital designs!
Brilliant tutorial. So clearly and simply explained and I very much like the speed you go through things too, makes it easier to follow. Thank you so much.
I have watched 100s of tutorials and this was just unbelievable …. the creativity and they way you utilize all of what procreate has to offer… just mind blowing. Thank you for sharing 🙏🏻💕
This was great! thank you so much! I needed to do an assignment for my course and I am going to try and apply this technique. First ever tutorial I finish and I am happy with - very beginner here 🙂
Loved this tutorial! You don’t go too fast - I’ve been lost on many other’s tutorials because of the speed, and you don’t assume the users know a bunch of shortcuts. Thank you!
Sincere thanks to you. You are far and away the best ProCreate tutor I've found online. The projects are fun and your teaching style absolutely perfect, repeating calmly and routinely all the steps. I am a total newbie and hugely grateful for you posting. I will endeavour to look at your Patreon to express thanks too. Thanks again.
Not at all. And thanks for so generously sharing palettes and brushes. For us beginners the thought of buying more than the standard supplied in App is a bite and for you to generously share such tools really helps get us involved and get the bug.
Quality tutorial that everyone can follow. Also the free brush, rabbit 🐇 and colour swatches are so easy to download and use. Definitely one drawing that we all can follow and recreate.
You are a great artist and teacher - Thank you for all tutorials you make. They are easy to follow and the results are stunning! I love all the „tricks“ you show us.
Wow. This is so cool. You deserve more views than you get. You are talented and a good teacher. Your tutorial is very clear and easy to follow. Thank you so much! Keep it up.
HelloJoel, what a beautiful result. Thank you so much for teaching us . It is especially gratifying to be able to follow along in real time as you are so very patient in going through each repeated action with us and not just saying ‘do the same again on all layers’ as most other tutors do. All your tutorials that I have watched so far have been top quality and highly detailed but achievable .
even though i could do this myself, watching your process gave me a lot of clarity + extra tips/shortcuts . i never would’ve thought about moving the shadows like that to make an obvious light source and i definitely wouldn’t have thought to make a highlight like that (so crisp!) lovely tutorial!
So happy this video blew up for you Joel!! Much deserved! Love all of your tutorials here and on patreon!! You have helped me become so much better with my digital art! Xoxo!!
I thoroughly enjoyed this tutorial and I’m so proud of the image I created following your tutorial!! Thank you so much! One of the best I’ve ever followed. Amazing 🐇
This was a great tutorial! I have a question: When we do the highlights why do we need to clipping mask the primary layer? (This is after alpha lock the duplicated layer)
hey hey by clipping it to the shape you dont adjust the original shape in anyway, so it will always look like what you drew. Rather than just moving a layer above a few pixels and enlarging the item :)
Thank you for this fantastic tutorial! I noticed my monoline brush changes while doing the warp part to make the egg shape, any ideas why? I also noticed when I fill the outside, it's not smooth along my monoline...did my monoline settings change from default possibly?
When you drag the colour in, hold it down and the colour threshold will open. The drag to the right to increase it. This will get closer to the edges 😀
Hey Joel and all! Thanks for the great tutorial. I was following along until th ebunny bit. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong but cant seem to open the bunny stamp via drive. Any one else had this issue?
how could i do one starting with something other than an egg shape or circle? i wanted to try a bunny silhouette instead of a basic shape to start wit. is that possible? i can't get it to line up right
Thank you Joel. This is a really great tutorial - so many new techniques to learn. Not sure if I will remember them without watching your tutorial again, but I really enjoyed doing it.
Thanks, Joel. Interesting and well-organized approach to this technique. I like the grouping step. It makes handling the different steps more manageable. Beautiful design!🥰

How do you get your brush to show a circle when you use it?
Open a canvas.
Go to actions
Go to prefs
Turn on brush cursor
😃😃😃
Brilliant, massive circle now showing as I work on Yoda. Thanks for the tutorials and the answer.

@@JoelCreate thank you! Yes a threshold, that makes sense!
Amazing tutorial 🤩 may I ask why you turn on the drawing assist on the layers? I’m new on procreate 😅 thanks in advance
With this design it’s all about symmetry so we left the drawing guide symmetry tool on 😀
Will this work on ipad 9th gen, (planning to buy one) considering there is layer limitation?
Hey Joel and all! Thanks for the great tutorial. I was following along until th ebunny bit. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong but cant seem to open the bunny stamp via drive. Any one else had this issue?
Hey 👋 you can drop me a message on drive and show me what’s the issue 😀
Wonderful tutorial! Your instructions are so clear & your voice so calm, I can’t wait to try it tonight!
This could totally be turned into a real life paper cut!
how could i do one starting with something other than an egg shape or circle? i wanted to try a bunny silhouette instead of a basic shape to start wit. is that possible? i can't get it to line up right
Yeah you can use any initial shape 😀
