- Today, a statue of Billy Graham-representing the state of North Carolina-was unveiled during a private dedication ceremony in the U.S. Capitol’s National Statuary Hall, honoring the evangelist’s lifelong commitment to proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ around the world.
Mr. Graham is one of the few private citizens to receive three of the highest honors from Congress-the Congressional Gold Medal in 1996, to have lain in honor in the Capitol in 2018, and now have a statue placed in Statuary Hall. The 7-foot statue points to the hope-filled Gospel message he faithfully preached around the world for more than half a century, with John 3:16 and John 14:6 inscribed on the pedestal.
In 1972 Rev. Billy Graham and one black man pianist came to Kohima Nagaland and I saw him praise the lord may almighty God bless his children's 🙏
Mr. Graham was one of the very people who got me interested in Jesus when I was a young man, say around 10-12-years old. My mother, God rest her soul, used to make us sit and listen to him preach and even at my young age I knew he was right and there was something out there. Oh, I horribly backslid for about 30-years and then came back home to Christ years ago and will never leave His flock again, real life is knowing the Lord Jesus Christ.
I never doubted but was not any where near my best for decades too after being raised better as a Christian thanks to my sweet parents.
Praise the Lord for our parents and for the Lord never leaving us.
And for us making the only good call to go back and put the Lord first above all else.

I thank God in Jesus name that the Reverend Billy Graham is being honored for his life's work by us on Earth. I can only imagine what God has planned for Reverend Graham in Heaven. Through Christ the Reverend Billy Graham has preached to millions of people worldwide. The Gospel is Good News! I pray more people come to Christ.
It was 1978 at Singapore National Stadium, when I saw and heard BG evangelised the gospel of Christ. Although I was only 9 years old then, the message of salvation delivered through BG convicted me give my life to Jesus and to accept Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. Just like mine, I am certain that many lives that evening were touched and changed. Thank you Lord for raising a remarkable servant like BG, who has made an impact in shaping the Christian spiritual landscape globally throughout decades of service. May BG enjoy heaven with our Lord Jesus in eternity.

Billy Graham, more indirectly affected me. And I’m sure many people. I didn’t hear him preach, I heard my mom guide me, I later found out she was teaching me practical advice on relationships from him. She didn’t follow it herself, but learned from Billy Graham and by seeing her mistakes I followed that advice and even shared it with others giving my mom credit until recently, seeing a clip that the original advice came from Billy Graham. I know the actual credit belongs to God, but Billy Graham had to be brave enough to speak it so my mom would repeat it and I would repeat it and his impact is far beyond even those who know who he is and my our Godly impact be the same, all glory to God!
I was converted by him through my friend who got converted when he attended Dr Grahams Crusade in San Francisco. Because
after his conversion it was his premature death that drew me to church where his parents went. l later got converted or saved!

I love Billy Graham and have been listening to his sermons for years. He always spoke against idol worship. Unfortunately, in the fallen world is a fallen people whose hearts are far removed from God. Man cannot hear God’s commandments, one of which states, “Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments” (Exodus 20:4-6, KJV).

Billy is too great of a man to be with the filth of DC and this horrific excuse of a government. With that said glad he is getting the recognition. I often watch his old sermons on UA-cam. Watched one last Sunday actually. Very powerful message.

Billy Graham wouldn't approve an idol or worship of men. He'd rather you hear the word n repent.

I too love and have high regards for Billy Graham. He has reached his eternal destination.Praise God
Ultimately, you are correct, but we do not live under the law anymore. Be careful not to get too litigious and too legal because we walk by the Spirit of God. This might be a stumbling block to someone, but the message of the Gospel is that the Holy Spirit lives within us and we have to obey the Holy Spirit's commands. The Ten Commandments were reiterated by Jesus, but we should still walk by the spirit of love as it talks about in Galatians chapter 5 verse 16 through 18 and we will not be guilty of the penalty or the curses of the law the same way Moses was for the Israelites before Christ. That's my two cents.

Ashley, you are correct. Please read Exodus 20:3-7. God has always spoken against idol worship. Billy Graham speaks against idol worship in many of his sermons. It is a sin unto death. The Ten Commandments are also listed in Deuteronomy 5 (see verses 7-10).
Is a statue necessary? Are we Roman, Greek,Buddhist, Hindu, Catholic? Do Christians need statues to honor saints? Does God approve?
So who is worshipping it ?
Karen, a statue is not necessary. It takes attention away from the perfect Christ and goes against biblical teachings. Please read Exodus 20 and Deuteronomy 5. This is indeed a form of worship. Nevertheless, a fallen people whose hearts are turned away from God have eyes that can see physical things but cannot see the things that are spiritual.
It is not right idea to keep status, our Master doesn’t have one.

Please, No Offense Intended, with what I'm about to say, Dr. Graham would have said, "I was only doing the Will of God, as I lived to serve Him", I Don't Think, Dr. Graham would have wanted a Statue made in his Honor, on the Contrary, I Don't Believe he would have wanted this done!! He would have insisted that People Focused on the The Lord, who Paid the Ultimate Price, the Shedding of His Blood in order to Redeem us and have now Open Access to God's Throne of Grace, But NOT A STATUE MADE IN HIS (Dr. Graham) Honor!!
