That looks like a well executed demolition, fascinating to watch. I have always wanted to be a digger driver too. Quite like the graffiti/art on the waste skips it stands out!! Bit of individuality I like that!!
@ 4' 25" you can see the crack running up the front of the building so retrieving the scaffolding would have been too dangerous. The scaffolders did arrive shortly after this. Collapsing of the front showed how dangerous the hotel was and needed to be deomolished ASAP.
And who's going to do that dangerous task? If I was to paint the Blackpool Tower flagpole, would I climb to the top and paint it, or would I remove the risk and get the pole taken down to a safe location? You could endanger worker's lives by removing the scaffolding by hand, or you could use a big machine to remove the scaffolding. Would you take the job of dismantling the scaffolding after watching this episode?
Stayed in the Ambassador years ago must have been over twenty and was dump then
