- The Boris Audio Works Aerosoft CRJ Sound Set is on the horizon! As a pre-release video, I have created a showcase of the sounds from start to finish. This is a complete overhaul of the sounds - no default sound remains!
Features include fully reworked button and switch sounds, avionics fans and ambience, ground rolls and touchdowns, engine sounds, and much more!
FAQ:
When will this release? - If everything goes smoothly, March 24th
Where will it be available? - ORBX store, and when approved, MSFS in-game marketplace
Will it be compatible with ___ variant of the CRJ? - It will be compatible with all 4 - 550/700/900/1000, both from MSFS marketplace or other sources
What is the pricing for this? - $10 USD
What is the difference between the sounds in the variants? - Admittedly not much, mainly for the engine sounds in the cockpit, the longer variants will be even quieter.

@@BorisAudioWorks First of all, I'm amazed at how you were able to so accurately compile all of these sounds the way you have. Everything works together perfectly and each sound you demonstrated was exactly the way I expected it to be. The detail is amazing...I'm pretty sure I could hear the relays behind the seats when you turned on the fuel pumps. The avionics fan switching to FLT when you went WOW was a perfect touch and I really like (though I've never even thought about it) how you can hear 3B activate during flap extension. If I have any critique at all it would be just a few little things that may even be a little bit subjective: 1.) The main gear extension sounds are perfect, but I feel like the initial "thud" of the gear releasing out of the bays are a little louder (...not quite as much in the 7 and 9 as in the 200) but it's almost a little startling. 2.) While the 3B ACMP is definitely audible during flap extension as you've depicted, I think the flap motors are also quite audible from somewhere around just forward of the wing aft. They are much louder aft of the wing, if memory serves. 3.) Lastly, and this may not even be a thing...I can't recall if I'm just thinking of when the nose wheel bearing start to wear out but I feel like I was expecting to hear the nose wheels winding down a little more after the nose lifted. That really could just be a less than nominal occurrence though. Beyond that, I've got nothing. The whole thing really could pass for perfect just the way you've already got it. Well done! You even have the first stage fan blades slapping around in the buckets. That totally kicks ass dude!

As a former CRJ 700/900 Captain This is SPOT ON!!! It brings back so many memories. This is still my favorite plane to this day. I am on the E-175 now.
I can't believe the difference this makes from the stock sounds... astounding and incredible are two words that come to mind. Heck, I don't even fly the PMDG 737 but if you do the sounds for that plane (as so many here are begging for) then I might just have to buy it just so I can get those sounds too. Keep up the awesome work!

This is what I've been wanting for! Legit stopped flying the crj from the crap sounds. This changes all that!!!
No worries, now that the sounds are good, the crap model, lack of all variants, and bs flight dynamics will come back to the forefront. Very short-lived comeback imho.

The sounds in the CRJ were what killed it for me and probably why I haven't flown it since shortly after release. Great work!
Wow, you even used the right gate! I flew this very route last year - loved DCA airport! As much as I wish the CRJ was a bit better, I still love it. This sound pack will really lift it up for me.

@@BorisAudioWorks I was blown away at that airport - very cool! And turning left over the Pentagon was unreal. The only odd thing was there was the name of the airport....Reagan......under an image of Lincoln. I told this girl..."I'm not American, but I'm pretty sure that 'aint Reagan!" lol
This sound pack is so professional 🎉 I did not fly much the CRJ but now I feel so much happy with this sound pack. It feels so realistic.

Oh man I am excited! I have flown the crj900 in real life a few times and I can’t wait to recreate those flights in the sim now with the amazing sounds. And I can say those sounds sound spot on to me.

@@BorisAudioWorks please do. PMDG sound set is ok but after using the FBW A320Neo & fenix 320 PMDG needs work and I don’t think they’ll be doing it themselves so we need the very best sound guy which is you.

Ooh…loving these sounds. Aerosofts default sounds leave a lot to be desired. I’m using an aftermarket set from FTSim but it’s no where near the quality of this sound pack. Can’t wait for it to release…..day 1 buy for me!

The sound pack is awesome! Although I know some people like to hear the engine sounds I feel like the initial release cockpit engine sound volume were more realistic. Is there any way you could release two separate files, one with louder cockpit sounds and one with the volume of the initial release sounds?
Just updated, I might have unintentionally boosted the cockpit volumes. It will be better now
i’m going to add fuel to the fire and suggest a PMDG sound pack as well. the 737 and especially the 777 sound too similar to their P3D counterparts, and with more and more addons focusing on sound immersion PMDG is lagging behind.
(i know the 777 isn’t even released yet, but judging from the previews, it sounds exactly like the FSX version lol.)
Generally the 73 is on my list. I also have a lot of 777 recordings. If I do any of those it'll be a gigantic project. If it comes, it'll be in the far future
You do realize that PMDG actually got offical recordings when they did the 737, one of the microphones they had was placed either further back or something but they got enough sounds from the real aircraft not to even mention they have 737 pilots working on it with them, and they have 777 pilots with them currently working on it, there sounds are gonna be spot on either way. I wouldn’t complain about PMDG being shitty in the audio department, sure it’s got a little tweaks here and there but it’s all from the real plane itself. I would personally just wait until it comes out and you’ve flown it at least a couple times, cuz PMDG knows exactly what they’re doing to create their aircraft. Give it time and you might like the sounds with what they’ve done and if not then Boris Audio Works can immediately come into play and help bring the 777 to life.
I hope some day you will make a complete new soundpack for the PMDG

I own this aircraft, and would fly it still if Aerosoft would update it, and if they did I’d almost definitely buy this sound pack of yours but as it stands I think a lot of us that are put off flying it or even buying it because of Aerosofts attitude these days probably won’t until they do.

Is there any chance you could make one for the ATR series!? I have the Ftsim but I feel like since u do sounds recording kinda pack, I think the ATRs could ultimately be used in some sounds improvement!
I'm not sure - I will think about it but so far I got no pilot contact. So far the pmdg 73 and ATR are on my list to overhaul
@@BorisAudioWorkssweet! Take your time! PMDG I don’t really mind tbh cuz the thing is this, they had Boeing 737 pilots tell the developers how it sounds and stuff. People complain about the weirdest stuff. PMDG had access to the 737s and got all recording sounds and stuff that’s very accurate

If you bought this from the marketplace there's an issue that every now and then pops up and I'm not sure why. But this is how you fix it
Go to your msfs OFFICIAL packages folder and find something like orbx-sound-crj and drag that folder to your msfs community folder. This will fix the issue!

Hope this brings some CRJ interest back to the sim. The CRJ is just not well represented in MSFS. I even read that AAL has been bringing back the CRJ200 for some routes.@@BorisAudioWorks

Msfs only, sorry. They use completely different sound engines

There's someone redoing the sounds for those right now. Maybe in the future when it fully releases and the variables stop constantly changing, I'll do it. I'd like to ask well, the ejets I fly on 10+ times a year

What do you mean? The fenix sounds are some of the best in this simulator, they're amazing. I'm friends with the man that made them, huge respect to him.
@@BorisAudioWorks …really? I spend 90 plus percent of my time in the Fenix, 5-7 flights per week. Have hundreds and hundreds of hours in that plane and without FSRealistic I think it is extremely quiet, and little to no engine sounds within the cockpit.
Maybe I need to look at all my settings for Fenix, but to me that is the worst part of the addon

@@BorisAudioWorks ….of my goodness! I turned everything up in the sim per fenix recommendation. The sound are really good. I turned them down because of other aircraft that do not have good sound packs and things are really out of balance.
You were correct though. I even turn FSRealistic off now when flying the Fenix.
Would a sound pack for the asobo F18 be possible, because it deserves some upgrades

It has its issues but it's definitely a flyable aircraft. Ideally aerosoft will update it some time.

Well I don't think you'd get your answer on this comment, but you can look at posts on the aerosoft forum or avsim where people really like it! V1 simulations will be streaming it today as well if you'd like to check it out there.

Question for you! If I were to buy the CRJ from steam cuz it’s rn on discount sale, and buy the sounds from the website, would that still work, meaning I’d have to probably get rid of the old sounds or rename the sounds file to like sounds.old and then reinsert the new sound pack, would that work? I’m thinking of buying it and what’s the price for this because the site says $15 AUD, not sure exactly what that means but I’m just trying to figure out the total estimate for both of these since the CRJ 550/700 are sitting at $41 rn and if that’s $15, ill most likely be spending about $60 in total for those two items.
The sound pack needs no crazy tweaking or anything. You buy from orbx and click install and that's all!
It doesn't matter where you get your aerosoft crj from, my sounds will overwrite the default.

Buying from orbx, I think you can select which currency there on the website

How do you get the cabin view?
You can look up a tutorial to get custom wing views - essentially it's editing a camera cfg file of the default cockpit view to then get it outside the cockpit, move to the cabin and save the views, and then remove the cfg edit so the default is back in the cockpit.
Alternatively you can go to showcase Cam -> fixed views -> scroll through them, there should be 2 cabin views in the aerosoft crj
